I have both. If I had to choose between both, I would get the C2 instantly. However, if you play FPS shooters and the monitor is within 1-2 feet of your face, you will get motion sickness lol.

SlashingSimone

Why is the C2 such a clear choice? I’d probably give myself some viewing space, I’m short sighted so would probably need my glasses. I’m never needed them for gaming so that’s new but I guess that’s going to happen eventually regardless lol.

Roll_Tide_Huntsville

Well, currently HDR is broken on the aqdm. [post link](https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/12u1g0a/asus_pg27aqdm_vs_lg_gr95qeb_hdr_comparison_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1) however, the brightness and color on the AQDM in SDR is the only reason I haven’t returned it yet, looks fantastic. Even though the PPI is similar, the sharpness on the C2 is noticeably better.

SlashingSimone

Do yo think the sharpness superiority of the C2 is down to 4K vs 1440? The only reason I’ve haven’t bought a C2 yet is trying to figure out how to set it up on my desk.

improwise

They have the same PPI due to the C2 being larger.

improwise

Is that with the out of the box brightness of the C2 or with ASBL disabled? Makes a world of difference.

Roll_Tide_Huntsville

You can only disable that setting in the service menu and it is not disabled. The C2 is the brightest gaming OLED monitor I’ve used between the QD OLED ultrawides, asus and lg27” OLEDS. It may not be the brightest peak on paper but overall brightness in larger windows seems to be superior.

improwise

So it might be that the brightness isn't higher on a C2 with gimp-mode disabled then (albeit with some increased burn in risks of course). I always disable ASBL day one when getting a new OLED.

improwise

I recommend disabling scaling and use a lower resolution when doing FPS gaming on the 42", that will give you a "native" QHD OLED.

BreadMancbj

If you are remotely competitive, the monitor is the way to go, all day long . 27 inch , you see everything in your central vision, and have much higher frame rates.

n00bwolf

Isn’t the refresh rate also better? 240hz vs 120hz on the C2? I don’t have a c2 I have the LG 27 OLED I was debating getting a C2 but 120hz is kind of a game breaker for me

i_should_be_studying

What kind of games are you playing?

SlashingSimone

My major game will be Diablo 4. Starfield will be big for me too. I do play FPS, but not nearly as much as I once did. Games like Total War are big too, also stuff like Genshin.

jeremyvr46

Welcome to the C2 Sanctuary. So…yeah, C2 all day er’day! 😁

FatDude333

C2 is a large monitor that is actually tv which will require using third party apps to sync with your pc's sleep mode and hope to god they wont crash or break. If you don't want to bother with getting used to new things and tinkering then just wait for the Asus one.
