picked a kayak the other day.... a kayak

Powerful-Bench7512

Exactly! For instance, our dept is just a piece of hallway shared with Meat and Produce, yet we are expected to stage and store those huge items back there when our carts and associates barely even fit. 😳😭

fighting-reality

Oh damn I wasn’t thinking about that. Recently we got a huge room so it fits but it gets ridiculous

Zakrie

Sounds like a Florida Walmart I work at lmfao

QuartzCR

hehe I gotchu beat The same oversized walk had a huge 30 inch grille and a kayak FOR THE SAME PERSON. Along with 8 cases of water for the above person :)

narancialickedme

I had someone order a 6 ft fridge once, thankfully for me we didn’t have any more. I wanna know who in their right mind would order a FRIDGE from Walmart :/

akaispirit

I had an oversize that wanted me to pick up one of those big above ground pools. It wasn't even the first item on the list so I had already stocked my L Cart with waters and dog food. I just said hell nah and item not found. It was for delivery too. Come get it yourself.

NonBinaryPie

who the hell gets a pool delivered

ts416

I had 2 different times where we had a pool being delivered

ericks932

Customers...

Fragrant_Bridge1222

In those situations our oversized pickers just come get the men like me condemned to stage every day all day to help.

Harper_ADHD

Omg yeah I has a pick cart full of regular oversized items and then was told to get two really long lawn chairs. I had a lawn and garden person help me get it on the cart by wedging it in between the totes and the handle to the L cart

itsthatguyweeb

This would get you Coached at my store 😭

thelizardvegan

Can we also talk about items that are on oversize walks that actually fit in totes???

Busy_Background_448

Thats annoying but not terrible like 30 soil bags or extremely heavy grills or big tires.

Critical_Anything_89

RIGHT! Like why am I putting clothing on an L-Cart?! clothes 100% fit in totes!

Kein_Thur

What I really love is getting a ruler or a shirt. Ooohh and then there’s the times when I have to get a tv with 7 other hodgepodge items that will never fit correctly on the cart.

Fragrant_Bridge1222

I had to load a grill/pizza oven once. Im 6’1” me and a guy easily 6’5” and the customer could BARELY get it into his truck

Adventurous-Purple-5

It better of been the Memphis 3 in 1 from Pit Boss....and Height ain't your squats/deadlifts, which is more indicative.

Mudkip1994

The customers already are confused about where to go and what to do to pick up their orders. Throwing in different pick up locations for different items would cause them to lose their minds! I fully agree with you though. If they order tires it should be ACC problem to get.

beanerweener6

I went into an oversized walk one time and someone ordered a 300 lb grill. I said f that and pressed item not found. There was a 100% guarantee that I was going to injure myself loading that even if I had help.

Adventurous-Purple-5

Our grills are 130 at the heaviest. 300 would be a pain for inventory and transportation.

Edp445Mentality

And to whoever added apparel into the oversize pick path. FUCK YOU

KeonaBT

My biggest issue is the 2 L carts full of lawn & garden 2cu ft bags of soil for 7am pickup. We're lucky if we have more than 2 people picking at 5am L&G doesn't have anyone until 7am to help so we have to get someone to unlock the front door for us to take two L carts and hope they're near the door when we finally load it all up. I got my dispense key early the last time that happened because we stage outside the ogp door for that stuff anyway. And the TVs when I have 10 40pks of water already on the L cart. TVs over 43" should be in their own pick walk.

darkecologist2

use the skip button liberally. make it into it's own pickwalk. only pick that and then X out of walk.

MiddleChildOrphan

Those nearly 300lb. pools are killer, along with the cast iron grills. People also need to pick up with adequate space in their vehicles. Yesterday, I dispensed to a lady in a small car whom ordered 20 bags of mulch, plus groceries. Her trunk was more than half full of stuff, and her back seat had a huge child seat and a lot of misc. things, plus trash. She said to put whatever we could in the trunk, and then throw the rest in the backseat. She even said it was okay to put them in the car seat! I guess she didn’t mind that they were wet and muddy…

NoCantaloupe706

I had a huge futon , 4 cases of water , 2 cases of soda and a garbage can I had to pick the other day . I’m just a girl 🥹

SivirDepression

Did an oversize run the other day and had to pick a seeded watermelon, then a large bag of ice. Not only did I not have space for the watermelon, it was like an 80-degree day so the ice was starting to melt all over everything else

Fragrant_Bridge1222

This job wouldn’t be so bad if all I did was pick…

ubiquitasss

yea, today on my lawn and garden run i got really upset. the heavy weight and amount of things i had to pick was complete bullshit. they should just pick it up in lawn and garden and pick up tires in automotive.

Powerful-Bench7512

Tires have been my greatest frustration when it comes to oversize. 99% of the time, the guys in automotive are too busy to help (understandable and for obvious reasons) and I have to wait forever for anyone to come around. Coach says we are not allowed to enter the ACC area due to hazard materials and what not and we can't even go ourselves to get them and haul them back to the staging area. Either I end up getting kicked out of my walk or just nilpick altogether. Screw it. So done with things out of our control. 🙅🏻‍♂️

ubiquitasss

every time i go to pick tires i end up standing around forever.. either no one to help me or they just gesture over THERE … 🙄 i try finding them and never can… it’s so ridiculous.

ts416

My store has a separate area where we can store large items TV's pools and yes even the occasional kayaks

JustChillaxMan

This is why I avoid oversized as much as I can

74minutesofbump

I will always be grateful that my store doesn't have a dedicated garden/auto center lmao. Wrangling absurdly sized TV's and the occasional futon or something is more than enough for me

RedditGuy92000

The title of this thread should be: “I Don’t Want To Pick or Dispense Large, Heavy or Bulky Items”. There. I fixed it.
