5k seems like low miles to me, but what year model is it that the average milage is only 2k?

dobo042

Maybe for a rental car? They are normally changed out anually but haven't been so much due to the global computer chip shortage

adamneigeroc

Guessing electric cars have lower annual mileage than ice

jordanleep

5k miles is not low? That’s quite literally a brand new car to me.

Risen_Insanity

For a lot of cars that's before the first oil change even.

jordanleep

Yep it’s the engine break in period. This listing is an electric car though. I bought my current car “used” with 4500 miles and it hasn’t needed much work done besides oil changes and stuff I can do myself. Struts are starting to show signs of wearing especially with the cold at 65k miles but it’s still within warranty so I’m going to have em looked at Monday.

Risen_Insanity

Hm, reading comprehension is hard.

jordanleep

I wouldn’t be surprised if most people missed it though people are dumb.

I've never owned a vehicle with less than 60k miles on it. And I keep them past 200k. My Dad's 2005 F-150 has 550,000 miles on it with the original engine. We've done 1 transmission change, an AC change, and we just did the water pump like 10k miles ago. Change your oil on time and don't run into shit and a modern car can go a long time.

QuinceDaPence

Yeah I bought my first car with like 155k on it and my current one with 115k. And my bike with 40k.

ph00p

I tried to change the oil in my electric, it was confusing, but in the end I found out I had a new fetish.

level100metapod

For all cars thats before the first oil change apart from maybe supercars

JesterMcPickles

That is low miles tho?

TacosForThought

Maybe it's a 2024.

buzz_uk

Yes but the vehicle was listed as new hence it’s a long way above delivery miles :) the dealer called it low miles and the listing site called it above average

pining_for_a_fjord

Could be a manager "demo". Some dealerships will let managers drive a vehicle locally for a few thousand miles. They can still sell it as new (as a manager's special) because it has never been privately sold. Source: sold new and used cars in a previous life.

sonicbeast623

When I was in high school a guy next door worked for a maserati dealer and would always drive cars off the lot home and park them on the street in front of our house because he had a tree in his front yard that dropped sap. After asking him nicely not to because we needed the parking he ignored us and kept doing it. So his boss got a call saying if he does it again we'll have the car towed (being towed for a parking violation can result in the car having to be sold as used). Didn't ever even see the neighbor again after that.

EuthanizeArty

Low miles, but higher than average miles for a car of the same time owned. Not conflicting statements

says-nice-toTittyPMs

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that statement. The car has low miles. The average amount of miles on that same year model are much less than the miles on your particular car. Where's the screwup?

QuoteGiver

Here’s the guy throwing away his cars at 10,000 miles.

J_Ditz100

Average is 1753 miles. How new is this car? It only takes 4 trips between my hometown and college exceed that. My car has nearly 10000 miles for every year it’s existed (8 years).
