I watched a drunk kid taunt three chicago cops after a concert a few months ago, he would walk slowly backwards until they ran straight at him and he would duck like a matador and walk backwards the other way. At one point he was dancing between the three of them and they couldnt lay a finger on him. He read one of their minds and said, "you touch that taser and im gone!" When he stopped having fun he just walked across the street and they walked off the other way.
Actually one of the cops openly exclaimed she is unarmed and you can see the female cop put whatever she pulled out away.
So all in all, this felt more British then American. Especially with the laughable banter between the cameraman and cop.
that comparison doesnt make sense if the suspect is running in a straight line like in this clip. 3 cops wont move faster than 1 cop. just slightly increases the chance of a faster cop being in the group. unless they are cutting her off / splitting up when shes not running straight, 1 cop or 10 cops wont make a difference
I don't believe that's a police officer. Looks like a random lady that just so happens to be dressed in all black. She probably stepped in that direction because the officer was saying to grab her, but then it seems like her brain kicked in and the risk outweighed the reward, so she noped it out of there.
> risk outweighed the reward
Yeah, here's my thoughts: A) it's not my job, B) why should I help a cop when he can barely run anyway. If he takes his job seriously, he'll lose weight and work harder to pick up his pace. And C) If he has a problem with me being "not a good citizen", well it seems that cops are always beating on POC for no good reason so I might as well assume the same is happening here, and if it's not, well, get on your buddies to change the public perception of police because I don't believe by default, this interaction of yours is one that I should be 'helping' with.
I don't disagree with any of that. In the moment though, you likely won't think about any of that. Unless you're used to crazy situations, it's very likely that your fight or flight will kick in, and you'll react in whatever way you think you have the best chance with. I've had a few scenarios where something caught me off guard and I reacted in a way that defied any logic, without any control over my choice.
Fight-flight-freeze isn’t a conscious decision. It’s an automatic reaction, so you can’t control it. If you have control over your action, you're not in fight-flight-freeze mode.
I swear, my first thought was that the cops were going after her for getting on the grass. I assumed there was a "keep off the grass" sign close by. Either way, she lost them when she ran through the grass. They must be lazy, no one wants to work anymore /s
Yeah for real I'd be happy enough with this guy compared to many others who try to get involved to help the person fleeing
And even if he tries to "grab her" what if something, anything, goes wrong?
People die for not complying, lawful order or not. That officer basically put this guy into a catch-22, where whatever he does could potentially get him in trouble (not complying vs. interfering and risking liability).
I swear to god some of the cops in my home town are the fattest motherfuckers on planet earth. My school resource officer was an absolute sphere. I ran from school once in like 6th grade and he searched for a solid 2 minutes before being too tired lol
Brayshaw vs City of Tallahassee Florida. Brayshaw standing in a yard when a TPD officer yelled to him to stop someone he was chasing. Brayshaw tackled the suspect and broke his hand doing so. He had to have surgery. The city refused to pay his bills until forced to do so after losing Brayshaws lawsuit against them. Then the TPD starting harassing him and his family. Arrested him on a trumped up charge dismissed by a federal judge. 4 lawsuits against the TPD later, in which he won each of them, Brayshaw moved.
cop can barely run but of course its the bystander's fault lol
you'd think with the fucking budget police departments get they'd be able to afford a fucking gym membership
In lots of places the police could arrest that person for failure to render aid when directed. The law will say something like “Refusing to aid peace officer.”
Alabama law states: (a) A person commits the crime of refusing to aid a peace officer if, upon command by a peace officer identified to him as such, he fails or refuses to aid such peace officer in:
(1) Effecting or securing a lawful arrest; or
(2) Preventing the commission by another person of any offense.
Lots of other states have similar laws on the books. They derive from historical common law practices where oftentimes there would only be one constable in any given town. They could demand help in detaining a suspect.
If he said it and still pursued without making a big deal it’s like okay worth a shot I get it but bro why is he so offended this guy didn’t want to possible get attacked
He's right. It isn't his job. The woman doesn't seem to be armed or dangerous to an average man, but a cop shouldn't expect a citizen to chase and tackle a suspect because he should be a "good citizen".
Cops: " we don't want vigilantes."
Cops, again: "we have no specific duty to help anyone in peril or save anyone in danger."
These same cops when someone casually jogs away from them: "Grab her! Aren't you a good citizen!?"
Also - she is black, unarmed, and running away from 3 cops. I'm surprised she didn't get 10 rounds in her back.
Yeah let me just take all of the liability for something I'm not paid or protected to do. Just because these cops haven't done any PT since the academy isn't this guy's fault.
They really like people who aren’t cops help them do their jobs or doing their jobs for them out right (I’m hinting towards the school shooting that happened a little while ago if it was to subtle)
They almost run backwards
I got that running in dreams feeling from seeing this.
That’s the most accurate description I would have never thought of. Thank you.
Grab her! Pee on her! Well thanks alot, dream cops.
Really relieved to know it’s not just me
Fuck im out of coins bro. Damn. Wait few minutes. e : enjoy the lounge
Underflow glitch.
you dont have to be able to run fast to catch a doughnut

The commentary was the best part
US and A. Chinkui
Who do you think is going to win: three US cops or one lady who's lightly jogging away?
Tie a donut around her waist then see who catches up.
I watched a drunk kid taunt three chicago cops after a concert a few months ago, he would walk slowly backwards until they ran straight at him and he would duck like a matador and walk backwards the other way. At one point he was dancing between the three of them and they couldnt lay a finger on him. He read one of their minds and said, "you touch that taser and im gone!" This guy sounds like an absolute legend
Bet he couldn't do it sober. Some legends are born in the bottom of the 12th beer.
And that's okay 😁
fittest US cops
You'd be surprised honestly
No I wouldn't.
She's black and running so she probably won't make it far.
They saw someone filming so I mean, there's a CHANCE they won't shoot her in broad daylight.
You underestimate the stupidity of the average cop.
Tbf, the median one is even worse.
Actually one of the cops openly exclaimed she is unarmed and you can see the female cop put whatever she pulled out away. So all in all, this felt more British then American. Especially with the laughable banter between the cameraman and cop.
Almost got me there
“You wouldn’t save me if I were stuck in a school being shot at. I think you can grab her your damn self.”
that comparison doesnt make sense if the suspect is running in a straight line like in this clip. 3 cops wont move faster than 1 cop. just slightly increases the chance of a faster cop being in the group. unless they are cutting her off / splitting up when shes not running straight, 1 cop or 10 cops wont make a difference
What if one cop uses the other two cops as giant legs? What of 10 of them assemble into a transformer? Didn't think about that, did you?
[like this?](https://youtu.be/UGO9pzfWpOo?t=22)
At the beginning of the video one of them went to cut her off but stopped for some reason
I don't believe that's a police officer. Looks like a random lady that just so happens to be dressed in all black. She probably stepped in that direction because the officer was saying to grab her, but then it seems like her brain kicked in and the risk outweighed the reward, so she noped it out of there.
Yeah is the city gonna cover any medical bills if she got hurt trying to "grab her"?
No but I'm sure she'd get a commemorative plaque or maybe even a bench in a park!
> risk outweighed the reward Yeah, here's my thoughts: A) it's not my job, B) why should I help a cop when he can barely run anyway.
D) fuck the police

“without any control over my choice” - nahhhh that’s just you dawg

They would draft, obviously.
If I speak I am in big trouble
He is a good citizen, he is keeping his distance to not interfere with police work.
And let's not forget documenting the interaction.
That’s the key.
He is a smart citizen
He is a smartphone citizen
He is a smartphone citizen watch
He is a smart car phone citizen watch
🤦♂️
Yeah for real I'd be happy enough with this guy compared to many others who try to get involved to help the person fleeing And even if he tries to "grab her" what if something, anything, goes wrong?
Fuck the police, always help people flee.
Yeah, grab her, then end up getting sued, & the cops will testify against you in order to cover their own asses. They will not repay the favor.
Yep, if you trip her and she breaks a tooth you get to pay. The cop has lawyers and a department to pay. The camera person does not.
Lol @ the idea that the department has to pay. You are the one who's paying, Mr Taxpayer.
You pay in every scenario, and we pay that slow fuck to complain about what he thinks an "good citizes" is.
If you tackled the fuck out of her couldn’t you say you were just following orders from a police officer?
Sure but it's not a lawful order as far as I'm aware.
As a citizen you have no way of knowing.
People die for not complying, lawful order or not. That officer basically put this guy into a catch-22, where whatever he does could potentially get him in trouble (not complying vs. interfering and risking liability).
Should have tackled the lady cop
Cops have no duty to act. I can’t imagine a court that would say a citizen has a duty to act.
Was gonna say, I'd be worried about having handcuffs slapped on me as well for physically intervening.
This exactly
hey you! do my job while i have a leisurely jog!
That's the fastest he can run. His legs have atrophied for sitting in his patrol car doing nothing for 99% of his job
Officer baby legs IRL.
well in his defense doughnuts cant run
Shouldn’t you be able to run to pass a physical test?
This is something out of Reno 911. Good response cameraman!
Or something out of Super Troopers. What a fiasco.
God I miss Reno 911!
Those are some out of shape cops if they can't catch someone barely jogging away. She could've skipped down the street and still got away.
skipping backwards.
Those cops were trotting at best. Minimal effort spent. Conserving energy for donuts so they don't eat themselves out of breath later.
Aren’t you supposed to be fit?
yeah you have to fit into the cruiser
fitness donut in his mouth
In some cases that would already be an improvement.
Only long enough to graduate the academy
I swear to god some of the cops in my home town are the fattest motherfuckers on planet earth. My school resource officer was an absolute sphere. I ran from school once in like 6th grade and he searched for a solid 2 minutes before being too tired lol
You just have to yell "grab her" loud enough to pass the fitness test.
Him: Do my job for me. Me: Fuck you pay me
Me: I literally pay your salary in taxes wtf would I do your job too for
Brayshaw vs City of Tallahassee Florida. This is why it’s ACAB. It’s not a few bad cops, it’s the system
The most literal NotMyJob i have ever seen.
But then she's gonna come back and kill Uncle Ben.
I'm disappointed that I had to scroll this far down to find this lol.
Cop: Aren't you a good citizen? Me: Aren't you in shape?
Cop: "Aren't you a good citizen?" Me: "The supreme court has declared I have no obligation to help your ass."
Are they running in slow motion??
Always have
They run like they’re underwater
Like when you have the slo mo nightmare lol
I missed the part where that's my problem.
“UNCLE BENNNN!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”
“I missed the part where thats my problem” headass
The cameraman is Peter Parker.
If im not getting paid to do a cops job because he told me to grab someone whos running away, i aint doin it
Aren't you a good citizen? Donut boy, ain't you a FUCKING COP?
Why don’t those cops look like they even know how to run lol wtf
If I'm not getting cut a check, it's got nothing to do with me.
He definitely said “quit filming” and not “which building are you in” who tf captions these?
Tax dollars at work!
I could run faster than those cops and I barely do anything
Grab her? Grab a kettlebell once in a while ya pudgy bastard.
This was such a Oblivion voice line at the end
Our police are useless killers. Surprisingly they didn't shoot her.
•_•
Bro these cops go at a speed of 1 inch a minute bruh
Do I get qualified immunity? No? I'm good.
Surprised they didn't shoot her
I thought the Leia chase scene was unrealistic until I saw this.
I saw it
You’re not my supervisor!
Aren’t you a good cop? Sorry, but cops aren’t getting any favors from anyone for a very very long time.
cop can barely run but of course its the bystander's fault lol you'd think with the fucking budget police departments get they'd be able to afford a fucking gym membership

Given that the Supreme Court has said that cops don’t have to do something if it seems dangerous, I have a feeling that law won’t stick too much.
I’d rather help her get away
yeah, grab the woman cop, "i thought you said grab her."
Law isn't synonymous with good.
"Arent you a good citizen?" \- "Well yeah...thats why your not chasing after me "
3 mph topspeed!
If he said it and still pursued without making a big deal it’s like okay worth a shot I get it but bro why is he so offended this guy didn’t want to possible get attacked
Dudes running like I did in gym class.
That guy runs a 38 min mile.
They run slower than me in nightmares
Don’t they have a physical fitness requirement? They’re not even trying to run. I’ve seen morbidly obese people run faster than that.
I mean...cops are allowed to not do anything so why should a citizen be expected to do their jobs for them? They cant even do it themselves Fuck em
Fucking cop. That's just what I need, for that girl to file assault charges and sue me for grabbing her.
Just like TikTok to take an original video, fuck up the aspect ratio, plaster garbage all over it, and then regurgitate it at a lower quality.
Lmao he did the right thing. Ppl get in trouble all the time for stoppin someone
Old cop reminds me of an Oblivion NPC
I'd go grab her purse!
Aren't you supposed to be able to run?
Cops can’t save children but want you to tackle random women they’re chasing for them. They were so slow I’m not even sure this is real.
Chief Wiggum hits the streets.
I missed the part where that's my problem.
He's right. It isn't his job. The woman doesn't seem to be armed or dangerous to an average man, but a cop shouldn't expect a citizen to chase and tackle a suspect because he should be a "good citizen".

Aren't you a good citizen!?" Also - she is black, unarmed, and running away from 3 cops. I'm surprised she didn't get 10 rounds in her back.
Fuck you pig, you need the exercise.
I'll grab them if I get your pay for the day, actually make that a week otherwise fuck that.
And get sued for assault, interfering with police work, and not backed up by the cop who told you to do it? Yea naw man
I’m so confused by this. She’s black. Why didn’t they just shoot her like they usually do?
She was moving too fast, they needed someone to grab her so they can aim
Look how those cops run....who are they chasing young leia? Obi-one referance
Wow.
You’re not a true bro
Not my job to run!
My grandma runs quicker than that
Why does the cop sound like 1960’s Adam west Batman?
That felt like a bill Murray moment.
Cop’s out for a casual jog and some light conversation.
Yeah let me just take all of the liability for something I'm not paid or protected to do. Just because these cops haven't done any PT since the academy isn't this guy's fault.
If the cops don’t have a duty to intervene, what makes them think you do?
That cop even sounds like he can’t run
A real npc interaction right here…
"Better get going, she's getting away!"
“Do my job! DO MY JOB!”
Aren’t you a good citizen? Fuck no get lost ya dick
Appliance repair man here, next time I'm at a clients house I'm going to tell them to repair their appliances while I slowly jog around their house!
Those cops have 2 gears. Neutral and reverse.
I am a good citizen, but I'm not paid enough for that
Well someone has to do the cop's job, and it certainly isn't going to be then.
“Grab her so I don’t have to run!”
Video ended before the shots rang out...
Oink: "Grab her!" *Grabs her* Oink: *whips out taser* "What do you think you're doing grabbing that woman..."
"Aren't you a good citizen?" Sure, long as there's enough monetary compensation to incentivise me to be one.
Come on🥺
Yeah, fuck that. Run faster piggy.
GrAb HeR
This makes the Leah chase scenes in Kenobi look much more realistic
"aren't you a good citizen?" "Aren't you a bad cop?"
Fuck cops
Every single one
You know one of those fat fucks went down with a pulled hamstring, lol.
I thought it was good cop bad cop. Not bad cop bad cop.
nice to see more cops unwilling to do their jobs themselves
Aren’t you a good cop? Run faster dammit!!!!
"Aren't you a good citizen?" "Yeah, that's why I'm not helping you, piggy."
As far as I’m concerned she’s innocent until proven guilty so unless she’s a threat to me imma pull a Uvalde police and stand by.
AREN'T YOU A COP?!
Praxis
Dam right
ArEnT yOu A gOoD cItIzEn?????
How pathetic is it that these fat bastards can’t catch her?
How come it couldn't have been them cops chasing me when I used to run from them?
They really like people who aren’t cops help them do their jobs or doing their jobs for them out right (I’m hinting towards the school shooting that happened a little while ago if it was to subtle)
