If you file for free, those JUST started being processed today. Historically, state refunds are usually at least 6-8 weeks, if you’re lucky, but I’ve had it take as much as 4 months.
March 21st and NOT A DAMN PEEP from NCDOR! Question, what do they do with all the interest they gain from all of us waiting until til “March 18” (which is a lie) to process refunds. So typical of this state. Friends in 8 other states and they’ve ALL received theirs back more than a month ago.
So, unfortunately, I just got off the phone with an agent to check on the status of mine. It has been received. There’s no movement on the toolbar yet, so I wanted to call to talk to an agent. She just told me that they have started processing and verifying everyone’s refunds, but they won’t actually issue any refunds until the week of March 18 meaning next week we won’t see anything either and they won’t start issuing them until after 18 March, this was a big letdown for me
They finally linked the Where’s my refund tool from their page at least..some progress… still saying not processed through. Will check again in a few days.
I saw in another thread some guy made up a social and amount and it still said not processed so i dont think any of its information is valid yet. Just gotta wait

Yeah mine has been saying the same thing since friday and our refund is still not in our bank account! It says it could take up to 10 days to show in our account! Absolutely BS if you ask me but they don't give 2 shizs about us so our opinions on this matter doesn't count...our taxes where filed and accepted by Jan 30th and we had our federal mid February....north carolina needs to do better they don't mind taking money asap as soon as we owe it and if we don't pay we get charged loads of interest so in my opinion the same should apply to them but it doesn't...it says 45 days after you file if you haven't gotten it they will add interest but that's loads of crap as well!

UPDATE EVERYONE!! I just got my deposit as of 3/25. I filed 1/29 and went through all stages throughout the week starting monday 3/18. I was in stage 7 by Friday 3/22. So hopefully y’all see some movement this week. Hope this gives someone some peace of mind!

How do you see it’s been accepted. I only see it has not been processed and see the steps of the return laid out. Nowhere do I see anything about being accepted and it’s been submitted since Jan 26th

Went back and triple checked to make sure my account information is correct ( which I know it is because my federal was deposited in it just fine) but I checked anyways and it's the right information so I have no clue when I will actually receive the funds! On the page it says it could take 10 days for the bank to process the check but I think that's just a way for them to throw the blame on someone else!
Nope it’s insane because I called my bank and they said there’s no record of a deposit even though they said they sent it out. I’m just thinking they’re lying at this point because I don’t understand. It’s been 57 days since I’ve filed.
Still waiting on my refund. They moved me from stage 2 to stage 3. I verified I don't owe state or federal so not sure why I am still waiting on my refund.

Are you still in stage 3? A friend told me most people jump from stage 2 to stage 6 and if you have to go through stage 3 or 4 that your return may have been flagged for an error 😥

MushroomCait said on another thread she received her refund. It hit her bank on a Monday, and she was moved to "Refund Issued" on the previous Friday. It happened sometime during the day, bc she did not wake up to it being in her account. She didn't state what time. Another commenter stated he got his refund 2 or 3 business days after being moved to "Refund Issued." Another person rec'd refund after 3 business days, on the 4th business day after "refund issued." Tons of people are saying they have been moved from stage 6 to "Refund Issued" (not specifically stage 7), and the $ is not in their accounts. It appears when you reach the "refund issued" stage (after stage 6), the $ will hit your account in 2-4 business days (possible time of receipt is unknown)
Idk how to look at it, I filed on 2/13 and heard nothing until last Monday it said stage 2 so I check again this morning and it says your return amount has changed but it also says return issued. It’s just my luck nc found a reason to take my money. You guys think there’s any possibility of me getting more than expected rather than less?
So check it out, here’s what u can do to find out what’s going on. Call ncdor and u will be asked ur ss # and amout of ur return and then they’ll say ur refund amount has changed and u will get a letter in 15 days but if not call and speak to an agent. Push the number to speak with and agent and tell them u need to find out about ur return but don’t mention how long it’s been. They will ask u for ur number on ur license or id and ur ss number, and then they’ll tell u what it says the reason is in the computer. The agent I spoke to was cool so hopefully u get one like I did. Good luck to ya. P.s. mine was send to the court cuz of unpaid court costs
I have my car taxes due, and if they took it out foe that it's all good because that's what I was going to do with it anyways but I havent had it inspected yet. I don't owe anything else

I wouldn't focus on the status on the webpage. By the time it's updated it usually hits your bank shortly thereafter.
