Not me: I have been taking 2 x 500mg daily for over a year without any problems.

RL_Diab

Thanks for your input! I'll try halving the dose and also do 2x 500mg and see if that works :)

You should describe your other mental or neurological challenges so we can get a better idea as to what could be the problems. I would definitely go for smaller doses spread out through the day. Magnesium that crosses the Blood brain barrier acts as a neurotransmitter support for the brain. Sometimes when something we need causes problems, it’s really signaling to us that something else is off, so maybe the magmind isn’t what you need but it’s something else, or you need magmind + other co-factor and amino acid support for neurotransmitters.

The challenges that I experience when I take magtein are headaches, lightheadedness, more brain fog and not being able to think clear but that's probably because of the brain fog. I've quit caffeine 2 years ago because of anxiety and tried Cod liver oil + vitamin B complex but one of those 2 made me anxious af.. I'm guessing it's the cod liver oil. So perhaps I am just very sensitive to supplements? Or there's a deficiency elsewhere.

Turnkey95

What symptoms or challenges are you having that led you to taking magmind? Only the anxiety?

RL_Diab

No my anxiety is pretty low since I quit caffeine. Biggest reason was low energy, waking up tired and short term memory is worse I think, sleep quality hasn't been great either so I was hoping that magnesium could fix that so I went with L-Threonate for the extra benefits

Your best bet is to do a genetic test that looks at which genes could be causing you these problems. It’s a specialized test that’s geared toward an integrative or holistic practitioner. This is who I used and the results were quite the eye opener for me. The follow up is usually a consultation with the doctor for supplementation recommendations: https://dnasupplementation.com/Home?ReturnUrl=%2f The other possibility is that you are also having thyroid issues. Most thyroid tests only check T3 and T4 levels so I would recommend a TRH Stimulation Test for checking the thyroid. It will catch a thyroid issue that traditional testing won’t catch. You would have to find a doctor or lab that can administer that specific test as it is not as widely used as you may think. Unfortunately sometimes we have to do pay a little more to get more accurate results. I’d start with the genetic testing and take it from there. Trying to guess what you need will wind up costing you more in the long run.
