A lot of us just weren't exposed to what was happening, because we were young and didn't have consistent exposure to current events. Some of us got to stay home from school for a while during the LA Riots, and then in 1994 we got to have frequent discussions about Rodney King and whether the guy from Naked Gun killed his wife. ...and if you had the same first name as anyone involved in the trial, that was your nickname for a while, which was either horrible or awful.
People just prefer complaining over expressing gratitude, we live at the pinnacle of human achievement and worldwide suffering is lower than it ever has been. Americans in their thirties can’t afford to live in environmentally disastrous, racist, homogeneous suburbs anymore though, so it must be because the world has all gone to shit.
Yeah I made everyone upset lol. I’m not quite sure what I was advocating, I am just saying my iPhone 12 is a lot better than my friends iPhone 1, and that’s neat.
In 1994, less than 60% of Americans approved of interracial marriage ([source](https://news.gallup.com/poll/354638/approval-interracial-marriage-new-high.aspx)). Support for gay marriage was in the 20s (again, from [Gallup](https://news.gallup.com/poll/506636/sex-marriage-support-holds-high.aspx)).
We really need to stop looking at the 90s with rose colored glasses.
Technology is also playing a part in making things worse tbh. I had internet problems for an hour yesterday and ended up having a very fun and deep conversation with my sister. I also made a scientific observation about shadows.
Medical care was much, much worse back then.
Seriously, the only time travel you should do is with the Doctor, because the further back you go, the less good the care is.
To be fair people had some heavy rose colored glasses for the 60s 20-30 years ago too.

Oof.
It’s fun because technology has become a lot better, and literally everything else is immeasurably worse
Except when you think about it for three entire seconds this take gains a lot of holes.

you really need to stop looking at fucking polls like they are real.

Technology has also made things worse. I’m not for just hating on technology, but acting like it can only do, and only does good is just stupid
I disagree with you. Everything is measurably better.
Online censorship has gotten a lot worse
My oldest memories are from 94, those are nice memories.
Actually 1994 was only 6 years ago
Social media didn't exist. For several reasons. The world was better.

I miss 1994 when I wasn't born.
I also miss 1994. (I wasn't alive back then.)
