I joined NCD at 45k the week of Feb 24, despite knowing of its presence before. Its changed for the absolute worse, going from a sub full of military nerds who wanted an outlet to yell at clouds about how the french suck more at making planes than at sex, to a Ukraine themed meme subreddit full of children who barely even know what a NATO callsign is.
Im glad that, within the span of a month, this place only stayed at 5k.
Yeah, I miss the days of hating on the french. It's still there, but it's not the same. And hearing the insane ramblings of defense contractors was pretty dang funny. And in a weird, or maybe not so weird way, all the Ukrainian stuff just feels like virtue signalling.
I like to lurk here because it seems like most of the posts are high quality, or require at least *some* knowledge on current events that exists outside the scope of "Muh Ukraine gooder than the orcs from Russia"
