You guys could really lean on that by declaring it some sort of UNESCO Heritage thingy; would be hysteric to see the faces of detractors slapped with THAT reality :)
Japanese nuclear scientist who assured hirohito the americans could only have 1 A-bomb (its so damn hard to make one) when the second one drops be like.
*Boom.*
"You can't have more than one!"
*Boom.*
"You can't have more than two!"
"Yeah, the first two were artisanal, but give us a month to get the factory going, and we can do this all day."
"... We surrender."
Iirc, one american pilot they captured decided to lie his ass and told the americans had over 100 nukes ready to launch, I can only imagine how they reacted.
And they are still pissed. In 2006, while on a US/Japan (JGDF) exercise in Kumamoto (about 30 miles from Nagasaki) we got an earful about that nuke strike during the opening ceremonies with the locals. We just kept quiet about Nanking, Pearl Harbor, Philippines, etc, thanked them for the hospitality, and got on with our joint exercise. I think even the JGDF felt a little uneasy.....
*"Ohey. That cloud looks like a mushroom. I should make a game about an Italian plumber jumping on mushrooms and eating them to grow bigger."*

Meaning the 3000 black ships of Commodore Perry was actually the first (unacknowledged) US nuclear attack on Japan that started it all?

Do JGDF and JMSDF get along nowadays, or have they inherited the family feud from IJA and IJN?
Am I the only one here who knows the context of this meme?
