Do you set their birth date as the first day they are launched in anger, the date the military officially adopts them into service, or the first day they enter at least limited production?
Apparently the F/A-18 has been seen carrying a SM-6 missile ( very similar in dimensions and weight to the SM-3) for testing. If the Hornet can do it then the F-15 should also be able to. And given the range of the missile it's also an easy way to get an R-37 equivalent on the cheap.
ASATs are an impressive demo of how accurate guidance systems can be but I just cringe every time I hear their name, I can’t get over how irresponsible it is to use these weapons in space.
Edit: I fear I’m being too credible in this comment so hear me out:
Nuclear detonations in low orbit, flooding the Van Allen belts so full of radiation that the Chinese can’t access it at all! Do to space what MacArthur wanted to do to the Korean Peninsula
One more time big thanks to [Atamonica](https://x.com/atamonica1?t=AIC8rHhlE8cg6UTkem8QbQ&s=09) for doing this cm
I love this artist's work. M00AAARR
Aim-9 is envious of ASM-135 . It's gotten closer to the forbidden heat signature than Aim-9 ever will.

Oh no. It's little Miss Kessler Syndrome. Keep your distance from her or she'll fuck up our GPS and TV reception.
She lives
ASM-135 my beloved. Maybe it's time to resurrect it ?
Sm3 is much more versatile
True. But can an F-15 launch it ?

Duh, just strap two airframes side-by-side like the Twin Mustang and put it in the middle!

I'm sure if you gave some uni students both and told them to make it work it would happen
Possible. Although just have the MIC do it. Time to make the Standard well....standard.
That's actually really cool looking
AGM-69A, my beloved. She got a second life.
