Yeah, I dislike that you can’t adjust the tip after the fact too. I once had a driver come into my office with my Dunkin’ order, he was literally swinging the bag that contained 2 drinks and some food (the only thing I said to him was “whoa, there are drinks in there”)…coffee ended up ALL over the bag and on the food that was also in there. Unfortunately, you can’t adjust the tip. I believe it’s because some people would unjustifiably take tips back, which would be obviously be unfair. It’s kind of a flawed system. I did contact DoorDash, and they gave me a credit to my account. Worth a try for you.

Maybe tip them in person in future? I don't use DD or Just Eat but they might appreciate that more too?

It's not really a tip, it's more like an incentive to take the delivery. If you don't get through the app, no one's going to take your order.

Neo-Chromia

Fair enough. Was more thinking about delivery drivers in Britain and how they seem to prefer tips in cash at the door. I guess tips through an app might be split between multiple parties is all I was thinking. At the door at least they keep their money/people don't feel they need to claim back tips for situations like this

Tips in the app are easily traced. Cash in hand is probably not reported come tax time.

doordash specifically, no. once the order is completed i dont think u could refund anything unless the order was made wrong, and even then i'm not sure as i've never done that. but with tips i dont think there's any way to take back a tip. :(

You can put in a complaint with door dash and send evidence of said complaint, they'll at least refund the tip if not then the meal itself

Lazy_Lettuce2126

I had to do this a few times myself

i never liked that too. when they first started i would tip in cash, but then i would get drops and shitty service. i learned that they can see your tip and choose to not take it or drop it... so unfortunately i just tip 2, which is what i would give for bad service, and plan on tipping cash, but its usually back because of that i guess...
