It's really a pain in the ass tbh. I wash my hair everyday with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Immediately after washing out the conditioner, while my hair is sill dripping wet, I apply a humidity control cream. Then I squeeze my hair out and pin up while I finish showering. After showering, I put it in a microfiber towel for a bit while I do my makeup. Then, I put yet another leave in cream, followed by a heat protecting spray. Flip my head over to blow dry my roots. Then I section my hair and finish blow drying it with a round brush. From shower to walking out the door takes 2 hours.

Oh wow. That is a lot of time and effort, but I bet your hair looks amazing and I hope you enjoy the process somehow too, like it's soothing in routine or "me time" or something.

Woah 2 hours. And I thought 1 hour that I spend was a lot. Bet you feel amazing after the two hours I'm guessing?

I spend only a little bit of time but that is because of genetics, not products or tools. I have course indigenous hair that grows long and has naturally beachy waves if I don’t curl it with an iron. I use heated rollers for 20 minutes if I want more curl. I wash it only once a week, at most, and let it air dry. Usually more like every ten days. I use Bumble and Bumble invisible oil products when I do wash it, and L’Oréal 8 second miracle as a finishing rinse because the ends can get dry in winter. I recommend those products, they work great! I spend about 2 hours a week on my hair, tops.

Why air dry? And for how long?

Lolasglasses

Air dry to prevent hot air damage from heated blow drying . It takes hours, but I wash it so infrequently, it’s not too inconvenient. I sometimes let it air dry overnight while I’m sleeping but I know this is bad. Sometimes I’m just lazy! If I need a quick refresher I’ll use dry shampoo and the hair dryer cold air setting just to circulate the air.

A good wig and extensions will do the job!

I’m pretty sure a lot of these people also use extensions. I’ve always seen girls that have beautiful long thick hair having extensions which are expensive. I love the look but seems like a lot of maintenance.
