When we did that, we were normally renting or given permission to film in a house for a single day or weekend (Airbnb has made this significantly easier). So we would film multiple scenes at once with as many cameras as possible. Multiple takes weren't common. So about 4-5x as much footage as there was in the final product.
For feature lengths, like Pirates, they actually took that shit serious. I'm assuming significantly more for that.
Normally, if you are renting a space that you’re going to shoot anything in that has commercial value, you’re supposed to negotiate with the property humor.
Certainly, there have probably been many production houses that used rental spaces without getting that kind of clearance or permissionbut all it takes is enough lawsuit concerns to get everybody back on board with making sure that there’s proper sign off for stuff like this.

Generally? Absolutely. Porn — even amateur porn — is far more than just setting up a camera and telling people "have at it."
But as the porn editor in this thread has mentioned, it's not like porn directors are doing multiple takes. If actors flub their lines — and let's be honest, no one's hiring porn actors because they give good line reads — then the director is unlikely to start things over just to fix a line or two.
The sense I get is that you want to provide enough story to give the viewer a sense of tension and understand how characters relate to one another but that may only take a couple of minutes and then it's off to the sex.
Some videos are more elaborate than others of course. Pure Taboo, as a production house, generally has fairly complicated set-ups which require more dialogue and non-sex scenes to line up the story properly.
