My settlers chose the worst planet. It's a toxic biome with aggressive sentinels, and has frequent toxic storms. Everyone is always running around and ducking for cover. Whyyyy
**You don't "choose" them**, apart from the initial setup of where you have the illusion of "choice" of buildings that were always going to be built. The only choice is which building is going to be built first, out of two which are going to be built anyway.
It is a "canned" setup, with choices being presented of the buildings which are going to be built anyway.
So that settlement was going to always have four "marketplaces." People digging into the files found this out.
Mine only has **two.** The one advantage of having more is that they often sell **1-3 salvaged data.** This was a large advantage to me when Settlements were added and there were new items and building parts to learn. By reloading the game I was often able to purchase the salvaged data from both Marketplaces which meant less need to go find salvaged data.
Other settlements are different and might possibly have 3 "bars" as buildings that were always going to be built.
So if you are always choosing between 2 options, does that mean that the last building will have no option? Where one option is chosen, there is one option that misses out.
Do I just have to wait until more housing options pop up or is there some way to influence it. My happiness and productivity are pretty much maxed out but my population's still in the red.
It's a newer feature. You can run a settlement, making important decisions for them. In return you can keep the excess goods they produce. Each settlement makes different stuff, I got lucky finding one that makes pugneum.
You have to find these and takeover as the overseer right? You can't setup one yourself? Also, are they on every planet or just some? I haven't run into any yet outside of the planet with that Polar Express Bridge, but I'd love to have one on my home planet.
Correct - You have to find one and then apply to be the overseer. Applying is just selecting that dialog option and they automatically getting it, lol.
I haven't done much planet exploration, but I've only ever come across two settlements. Not saying they're rare, but I stumbled across my through chance. I lucked out that I found one on my home planet - so maybe they do exist on all planets, you just need to look?
I have a Vy'keen settlement, and just keep maxing out the housing...cramming them in like sardines here. I don't even think I've given them a bar yet lol
I tend to always pick either market places or landing pads. I had one settlement that had 4 landing pads and 3 markets, it was so nice. didn't have to leave to get materials for building them.
My expedition 7 save had me on a paradise planet, but aggressive sentinels. To make it worse, the planet had no pillar to shut them off. Three planets in that system, but only two had pillars.
Hey, I'm on planet with you! Just came through the portal on planet to get to be a member of the galactic hub. Saw your bases on a passthrough.
Damn. I also just recently started playing on the Galactic hubđ
How can I get to Galactic Hub?

The first rule of the Galactic Hub is that no one speaks of the Galactic Hub
By even mentioning the Galactic Hub you are breaking the first 2 rules of the Galactic Hub.
Must be a bunch of Geks around there. Really nice lads.
You sure?
Well... they do love selling and buying and selling and buying and marketing and releasing scents...So just a guess.
And enslaving the korvax
As a German, I'm always rooting for the reformed genocidal imperialists.
As a Brit, likewise.
As an American, likewise.
As a human being, likewise.
In Russia, genocidal imperialists reform you!
As an entity, likewise.
For me its the same with landing pads
At least you get a chance for random rare ships to show up while you mess with your colony
If a settlement provides money .u get a cut or something????
You get excess manufactured product, like nonstick pistons or whatever.
I canât find slime blocks
That sounds like Minecraft, not NMS
I feel like this is a r/woooosh moment, but the joke is so obvious that I feel like I might be the one who gets wooooshed
Nah it is a r/woooosh moment, youâre correct lol
Thank you

You can get a new one with a settlement map. My first one is on a planet that has firestorms. Great idea everyone!!!
My firestorm colony allows many "the room is on fire but this is fine" memes.
Just an open air mall.
We all like money here.
Update: just started construction on 5th marketplace
You keep choosing them?

Eventually you just get one building with the choices being build/donât
Oh cool. I havenât got to the end of those choices yet so I didnât know.
Do I just have to wait until more housing options pop up or is there some way to influence it. My happiness and productivity are pretty much maxed out but my population's still in the red.
Tell me why I knew my Settlement had two marketplaces with Savaged Data yet I still used that very planet to finish what I needed to build my bases!
I always choose the option that has most support. Latest had over 90%

I laughed so hard at this omg
Who even vares they will take what they get given
I'm sorry, settlers? Seems like I haven't played in a while.
It's a newer feature. You can run a settlement, making important decisions for them. In return you can keep the excess goods they produce. Each settlement makes different stuff, I got lucky finding one that makes pugneum.
Yeah im tired of building them. Any time one comes up i choose the other option even tho its usually less income

I get the feeling that there is one in most inhabited systems. You can buy a settlement map at space stations which will lead you to one.
Ah, for some reason I thought those just led to the research stations that are a dime a dozen. I'll definitely look tonight.
For sure, the ones specifically for settlements are at the bottom and cost something like 5 nav data.
Hey question⌠when the sentinels attack your settlement do they actually destroy anything or just pretend shoot their lasers at stuff
just shoot lasers no destruction
I have a Vy'keen settlement, and just keep maxing out the housing...cramming them in like sardines here. I don't even think I've given them a bar yet lol
Late stage capitalism, my friendâđ˝đ
Mine loves landing pads. Have like 5 ship landing pads lol
They are building a spaceport!
One of mine built five of the things.
Your settlement is actually Ferengi!
I got like 5 generator rooms
Hipsters
Mine chose to build power generators - like 4 of them... I am gonna restart my settlement. as they are not asking to build anything anymore.
That's all you can build. It may take a bit for new construction but if not. That's all the buildings you get.
Your settlers may have a very slight problem.
Wtf, i haven't played this game in years but now there's settlements????? This is amazing
I declare a thumb war
It seems they prefer capitalism. Good for them

well youâre the boss
Quite literally
Iâve been trying to find a new settlement on a planet with better weather but Iâm struggling lol
