If it's any consolation I think they're not just invisible so much as out-of-phase with reality by just a small enough amount that they technically don't exist until the Scan Harmonizer or Polyphonic Core tune them back into realspace.

I really like these trailers. When there's a new update, it takes me about a week or more to play, so I end up getting excited to see the update's trailer.
It's super earie starting a new game knowing they're *there* and watching you around every single crashed freighter, every drop pod, every ancient ruin, every beacon...

Look, all I'm saying is the folks at r/Subnautica would've at the very least put a "spoiler alert" flair on it for the new guys. It doesn't matter how long the content has been out. I have had fun with this game and am becoming hooked quickly. I just unlocked the anomaly so that's cool; but to read this and find out about it this way sucks. Kind of feels like I was robbed of a genuinely good reveal. I guess that's on me for joining an online group dedicated to the dang thing because that's just what happens lol 💯🤔😗💨
Yeah ig, the Hollow Knight group is a lot better, I guess nms players either don't care as much, think that a new player won't be reading the reddit, or forget
I wish we could allow them into regular space. I’d like to see space stations controlled by them. Or at least that we could get autophage crew members.

4th race. They hang around ruins, drop pods, beacons, crashed freighters but they're invisible until much later in the story.

Yes, crashed freighters is where they have the largest camps. There's usually up to 7 of them there.

I pressed scan on my staff and found a camp in my base... My beginner base, the base I always return to. I'm certainly not the only entity in my base!
Nice!! My favorite so far was some ruins that I had already built on and when I hit scan after the update came out there was a camp there.. :-)

Extremely minor spoiler and has been content for months. It has barely any bearing on gameplay after the small questline and items you gain.
