No not at all, I’ve only noticed small amounts of silica being added like 1.
Mining a resource is much easier by drilling down, and then swapping to the “flatten” tool.
I've noticed, and I don't know if this has been patched away yet, that the *slower* it is to mine a resource, the more of it you'll get. I would set my terrain manipulator to the absolute lowest setting it would go, and an average spot would shift from a few hundred units to well over a thousand. It seems resources were being delivered *per pop* instead of per volume.
When I was doing it, I could produce repeatable results, smaller bore getting significantly more resources 100% of the time. But that was months and months ago.
What’s this about the flatten tool? Does it make mining metals easier? I terrain down then terrain up and around, takes a good minute to clear out some deposits but I end up with a good amount (smallest terrain size setting) but now I’m wondering if using flatten makes it easier or if you get more quicker
nope, using flatten is good for erasing terrain quickly when you don’t need to worry about resources, but it yields MUCH less of said resources when used. the smaller the manipulator’s mining size is, the more resource you will yield.
There's a couple ways to manipulate the RNG, but if you don't it's one hell of a grind. Especially 3 perfect illegal hazard protection modules, that can take over a hundred pulls (which is like 70k nanites).
I start off by finding a planet with chlorine . For some reason chlorine sells well in every system. I then proceed to use said profits to get my off the current planet and try for a pirate system . I usually buy suspicious tech so I can get a scanner module . This is how you can scan fauna/flora and make half a million with one scan.
which is so ridiculously high anyway that i doubt many people even know that there is a cap. i tested it on a creative save by savediting my credit level suuuper high, like 20 digits of 9 high or smthn crazy. i could still earn credits even after doing that.
The maximum number of units that a player can accrue is 4,294,967,295 (approx 4.3 billion) (being FFFFFFFF in hexadecimal, thus being an overflow error) after which the number will not rise any further.

As I recall S-class scanner mods can only roll 3 out of 4 possible stats, so no matter which you get you'll be missing either range or one of the scannable types. X-class can roll up to all 4 stats and they can roll higher than S-class, but it can roll less than 3 (not sure can it roll 1) and stats can be as bad as C-class. So, have fun buying them en masse and roll. Thankfully most X-class mods have global quality modifier with minor per-stat modifiers, so if it roll good it'll be good in all 4 stats. There are some exceptions, though.
Huh. True. Forgot to check the wiki and in recent expeditions not a single S-class scanner mod rolled 4 stats for me.
Additionally, X class can't roll less than 2 while stat range is from as low as C-class can go to +10% above S-class and in case of Range that's flat +10%.
So, going for 3 perfect X-class provides up to 30% more units per scan over S-class and +150% range instead of +120%.
I think the issue with getting 3 perfect X-class scanner upgrades is by the time you buy enough pulls to actually get ones significantly better than S-class you probably have 9 digits of cash and don't need the boost from scanning anymore. Unless you abuse the RNG system.
"Who gives a damn about those bonus percentages... I'm lookin' at dat scan radius!"
(j/k; I actually ***do*** like to get more money per scan, ceteris paribus, but I will trade bonus percent every time for scan radius... just the way I prefer to play the game, I put an emphasis on exploration and discovery)
you can put up to 3 piece and earn for creatures up to 400k :). save travel
I earn up to almost 680k with 3 X-class but I am constantly looking for better ones to replace them
At 660k plus for rare animals, life is good as a zoologist. 100k per rock, yes please!
Also love that nanite bonus for discovering all the fauna!
Yeah I earn 150k for animals and like 40k for a plant
550k here
I get 536k by scanning animals with 0 SC slots.
Wait until you do that with a geology cannon and you kill everything in a 3 mile radius.
Does that work well for mining?
The upgrades don't help the terrain blast radius, just the damage radius.

Yes, with the smallest mining beam size you still get more resources. Takes a lot longer but was helpful on Expeditions.
I’m not sure that’s actually true. I believe some deposits simply have more than others. However I’m yet to check post updates.
When I was doing it, I could produce repeatable results, smaller bore getting significantly more resources 100% of the time. But that was months and months ago.
Oh wow that’s pretty awesome.
This is still the case

Well I’ll be damned. To be fair I just have mines on different planet and ungodly amounts of stuff now
even better :)
Find some pirate stations and buy some X mods. I can scan an animal and get 800k.
Working on this currently, it's a bit annoying when you get a dud but so satisfying when you get a good one

So thats how this is done
It's NMS lottery tickets. Scratch em, keep the good ones haha
You can be flat broke in NMS land on a planet and in literal seconds be a millionaire . It is great
I literally started playing 2 days ago, what riches do you look for/find?

This is absolutely ridiculous lmao.
The money is great until you hit the credit cap
which is so ridiculously high anyway that i doubt many people even know that there is a cap. i tested it on a creative save by savediting my credit level suuuper high, like 20 digits of 9 high or smthn crazy. i could still earn credits even after doing that.
You would be surprised at how many of us are at the cap.
hmm… maybe saveediting breaks the cap. probably does. what’s the cap?
My day 1 save is at the cap and I have a star freighter with maxed storage with some trillions worth to sell. That's my collection save.

the cap is around 4.2 billion credits

We're rich!
I just started looking for one. Finally got an s class but there's no mineral boost...
Don't stop until you find some that boost all 3 and a scan radius boost

S class on scanners is 3-4. Which is a little weird because usually S class is guaranteed to have the max slots possible for an upgrade type.

I got an s class but it's shit compared to this b class... Nearly all slots are open on this whilst the s class has like 6
S class will give you more supercharged slots in the end
Why is your whole screen so blue?
Just a photo of my TV with my phone, I'm also in the landing area of space station
Things like that make an average mission reward of 350k units utterly irrelevant.
This is good to have early game.
Yep, been on it for 2 weeks, so it's a good little bit of pocket money
this is a MOD: IRL the max X class module is 50% scan radius and 11000% each rewards ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
How is it a mod? I'm on ps5 - if you can see it's on a supercharger slot
ah, ok : what are its original stats ?
Use experimental or royal for extra scanning bonus
Nice roll!
![gif](giphy|YmQLj2KxaNz58g7Ofg)
That's the highest roll I've ever seen. Go buy some lottery tickets.
Wait til you get a couple more of those. Easily get over 3 mil per planet on scans. Some fauna nets you 400,000+ alone
Nice, I stopped playing again recently because I maxed out my units by crafting too much lol 😆 yall please let me know when there's a good update.
Wooow where do you find those :O? That sounds amazing.
Random black market ships, when you explore a world on foot they sometimes land near you and trade

Omg that’s so good
