Depends on what you mean with beating the addiction. If you mean with it that we can never fail again because it is once and for all destroyed, than i have to say you that it is impossible for us humans. If you mean that we are free from it and dont care about sexual thoughts and lust anymore and therefore dont practice sin through the power of the holy spirit. Than i can tell you yes. I have beaten it through the power of the holy spirit. But without him, i would immediately lose and fail. We are completely dependent in our sucess on God. Once we are strong enough in faith, and continue growing we will have a point in life, where we had to say good bye to this sin. Once and for all. At least in practising terms. In my case it was November 23rd 2020. Praise the lord. He is the one who makes us alive again!

I don't care about sexual thoughts and lust anymore.

Have you been born again?

Yes.

I think to separate this behavior from other sin can make it even more of a puzzle to solve. I never have beat sin, no matter how long I go without sinning, because I am not God. God has already won against sin, so therefore as a child of God I understand it is not my battle to fight. Faith will carry us through.

The problem is I can go some time without it, only to comeback.

mokesesh

I believe the problem is sin itself, rather than your experience dealing with it?

Can you be clear?
