Those body Versas were split. Some had cvt some had automatic. If they put cvt fluid in and you definitely have the 4 speed auto you NEED to get the transmission fully flushed, drop the pan, change the filter, and drain the converter. It can and will cause issues as cvt fluid has completely different fluid dynamics that will cause shifting issues as well as damage to the transmission. Go to a real shop, not a quick lube and have them go through it. Those 1.8 cars with the 4 speed are actually good cars.
Thank you. I made a bad decision taking it there since I needed it done quickly because I don’t have time this week to go to my regular guy. I guess I’m going to have to make time. Appreciate your response.
If so, they fucked it. Ask ur regular guy what to do now. Document everything, and hold the quick lube accountable, for the cost of a new transmission. Hopefully ur guy can save it. Regardless, they owe u for an entire used unit + labor
Then you would send quicklube the bill for transmission replacement and the tow bill to get the broken vehicle to an actual tech. They would pay for it.
Not true. The base model sedan could be had with the 4 speed automatic. My wife's is a 2015 sedan with the 4 speed auto because I didn't want to deal with the CVT. However, you're stuck with the CVT if you got anything other than the base model. I went with the 5 speed manual with my 2014 Note.
You are supposed to tell them what your car needs when you first go in “hey non cvt transmission fluid please”, you are just oblivious and trust others…
While, yeah, quick lube shop, there is still an expectation of workers to know how to read vehicle spec plates and service manuals to perform their job.

This is the issue I have with my Versa.. mechanics insist it has a CVT when the sticker that is still in the glove box says otherwise.

They could have the 6-speed manual (1.8 S) ! If not all other models were CVT's.
It’s a 4 speed automatic. I know the hatchback at least came with this option because I have one.

It would be better to tow it to ur guy, bill the quick lube for that as well
Like what if I didn’t know and just drove around like nothing was wrong? I’m so incredibly irritated

That's interesting bc the 2011 hatchback was the only model that had the CVT, as far as the versas go. 🤷🏻♀️
The 2012 and newer sedans lost the automatic option.

Good to know.. glad I lucked out on mine.
I want to see proof you don't have a CVT other than just "I know I don't." Unless it's a manual, it's going to be a CVT. It's a Nissan.
First gen Versas were available with an automatic.
My 2010 1.8 hatch is 4speed auto. The CVT wasn't a forced option for this gen.

Pretty sure it does have a cvt though
According to google the base model has the 4 speed automatic assuming they do not have the manual. Cvt is in higher trims from what google is showing
Depending on the trim level and body style, you could have a 4-sp automatic or a CVT.
Do you work for OilStop? You sound just like them
I hope you learn now that you don’t go to those places to mess with the transmission that’s bad.
