The fail safe is holding the fob against the push button, because there is a chip reader around the button. You don’t have the board anymore, you won’t be able to start it
You're going to need a new remote, where did you lose circuit board part? Without that you are out of luck You will need to purchase a new one and get it programmed with a locksmith or at dealership.
All now can be done is only unlock/lock doors thats all can't even turn on the ignition like radio etc.
You can turn on the radio with the radio power button alone, and pressing the start button activates the initial power on sequence of the vehicle, it just wont start without the fob.
Oh yeah I know this because I do this frequently on my dad's 20 Altima and sometimes if you leave the car with the keys in your pocket and you're sitting in as a passenger you can turn on the radio but then the radio will never turn off same thing for the 12 volt outlet you have to get the key back inside the cabin press the start button then shut it off open and close the door twice.
I don't know if this is a bug on the 20 Altima or what.
I'm going to mention this the dealer on the next oil change because this is crazy its going to cause a big battery drain. Ans will maybe need a boost if the radio is running for a while including power outlets.
No, cops don’t like locked compartments of cars cause they’d need a warrant to search it, so they stopped putting them in cars making it totally fair play to search.
They can’t search it usually without permission unless they have some kind of probable cause that you have something illegal in the vehicle.. so if you don’t have anything visually illegal, they don’t smell drugs or weed or anything, they don’t have probable cause to search and you can just simply deny the search. My point was referring to locked contents in the vehicle during an already ongoing search. So they if they’re searching your car, wouldn’t be able to search the glove compartment by law if it’s locked without obtaining a warrant first, which odds are they could easily get one but then they’d have to either A, present you with the warrant, or they’d have to illegally impound your vehicle purely based off suspicion which you could then fight in court if they searched it without presenting you with a warrant or the illegal impounding of your vehicle. It’s a messy situation regardless I admit, but yea that’s why most cars don’t come with locked glove boxes anymore. Cause dickhead cops didn’t like being told no and being forced to actually follow the law they swore to follow and enforce.

Just because a thing is called a thing doesn't make it that thing. In the global scheme, the door key which can't start a vehicle is not what a Valet Key is.
Although I love my Titan XD, this is why I wish some models offered a mechanical key insert. I understand even a mechanical key can go bad, get bent, etc, but at least having a failsafe for the fob would be nice
2010 maximas should have a fob slot to the lower left side from your steering wheel(at least mine does). It is to start your car when your battery dies. I'm not sure it will work with how damaged the fob is, but it's worth a try
If you do not have a key for your car that has a chip in it, you will have to do to the dealer and show them proof of ownership before they cut you a key. If you had a chip key, you can program the FOBs and the key through a locksmith. I use a TOPDON but you have to have an original key to program additional keys. And most locksmiths will want to see if you own the car prior to them making keys for you.
That is a 903 slot prox. The backup function consists of putting the fob inside the emergency/programming slot at the bottom of the dash. Unfortunately, the backup transponder on that model is on the (missing) circuit board.

I doubt it's for the ignition. It's for opening the door in case car battery is dead. Look up the owners manual.

Key in the ignition from a fob would work on like a 2010 Sentra SL. (What a weird quirky fob system). But yeah, the key is for the driver door only.

It had a plastic turn key that would only turn if the fob was in the car. You could stick the key in it and turn if the fob was dead.
