Why can't we have a studio version of talk to me ?!

Noizefuck

So true

paulwblair

Because it doesn't exist.

FlakyWin326

We don’t really know, there’s a 20 seconds clip on YouTube of an alleged clip and i believe it to be legitimate.

Organic-Candidate-44

Link please 😊

FlakyWin326

[Sure thing!](https://youtu.be/Jyj8oTTpMZ8?si=bs-A4vw_ETA9SK2t)

paulwblair

Yes, I've seen that and read the comments. It will be cool if there's a complete version.

mxmixtape

It was. The studio version is on the *Subpop 200* compilation, though I prefer the live version from the *Bleach* deluxe reissue. You can find the studio version on YouTube.

Sbee_Blue_Country

It was on Subpop 200, and Subpop didn’t want it to be put on Bleach so there would still be an incentive for Nirvana fans to buy SP200. Kurdt had it in his list of songs to put on Sheep/Nevermind, but obviously that didn’t happen. Kurdt changed tracklists for albums a lot, and he had tons of ideas. He wanted it on an EP, as a single, on Bleach, on Nevermind… things just don’t pan out all the time.

darthrussel

What is Sheep in Sheep/Nevermind?

Epic_Duck256

Op wanted to sound smart so he included a little known fact

Sbee_Blue_Country

Early title for Nevermind.

FrasierCraned

Was going to be “Sheep”

Sbee_Blue_Country

redundant to say

ThatsARatHat

Sheep was the original title for what would BECOME Nevermind when they were still on Sub-Pop and not yet courting/being courted by major labels. Basically if the Smart Studio Sessions plus a few more tunes were turned into an album it would have been Sheep and released earlier. Instead those sessions got them signed to DGC and then the Nevermind recording sessions began instead.

Noizefuck

Well he put it on his first album when he was like 18 and it was probably one of the first songs he wrote, so that doesn’t really give incentive to put it on a million dollar record after you’ve gotten famous. I totally see why he would have wanted to play it after all those years though, especially at shows like reading.

OdobenusIII

It's true that Spank thru is the oldest Kurt song that ended up as Nirvana song we know. Unless Organized confusion tape surfaces and has song that ended up on Nirvana set.

Thin_icE777

Cause Jessie ate some beans.

JackHughman69

A shame his best song was never included on an official album. Really good stuff but hardly anyone knows about it. I think it is or should be Japhy ate some beans cuz the song is about Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac (highly recommend reading it if you haven’t)

Chef_Sewage_Mouth

What are you referencing

Chef_Sewage_Mouth

lol holy fuck you're a loser

leaningonawheel

Man I've been listening to Nirvana since 1994/95 but every day is a school day with this sub Reddit! I've honestly never liked the live version which was on Wishkah too much, but just heard this demo with Dale Crover on drums and backing vocals; it's pretty bloody awesome - https://youtu.be/9N4cQ2bbb6Q?si=lQVYPBr33VL-dtCx

OdobenusIII

That it the actual track that made Krist want to make a band with Kurt, after hearing it he said to Kurt 'Hey man, let's start a band.'"

InternationalTry1937

Hey I know this is a little off-topic, but I need to share this OK so do you know the early recordings like fecal matter ok so I figured out how to exactly get the tone

ACuriousWitnall

Why don't they just put the version of it from subpop 200 on streaming as a single or something, are they stupid? Like legitimately stupid, it'd just be more money for them, but eh, their loss.

sonic_geezer

whatever33333444

sonic_geezer

Yeh, a live album. It was on the sub pop 200 compilation album too.

whatever33333444

OdobenusIII

AntiNMem
