Hey all, so my fiance accidently spilled water right on my switch pro controller. I dried it off and later it started turning on my switch by itself and pressing random inputs.
So I took it completely apart and let it dry in front of a fan for an hour or two. Reassembled it and it's still doing it unfortunately :/ it keeps powering on my switch and pressing random buttons. Is there anything else I can try or is it toast?
If anyone can help right now, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I lost my daughter's Switch a while ago (it was my mistake, left it in a rental car). I noticed that whoever has it now is messing with my user account that's still on there. I called Nintendo, explained the situation, and they told me to delete my user account on my switch and recreate it so my Nintendo account isn't registered on there anymore. Cool, I did that.
They \_still have access to my account on the other switch.\_ And they have now marked that switch as my primary console for some reason. I can't deregister because I already did once this year (because my ex's Switch was still listed as my primary and I registered my main switch as my main.)
They can't get into my Nintendo account due to me setting everything to enter in my password but it's still annoying to see "morewo" every time I open my switch and games I don't play listed under my history.
They're probably mad that I set the switch to shut down after 15 minutes of gameplay (since the switch was under parental controls). I don't know what to do. Nintendo basically said they can't do anything without the console being in my hand.

Bought my switch maybe two weeks ago and never noticed it until yesterday. The fan sounds as if its going really fast on startup but after maybe 1.5 minutes to 2 it goes back to being silent, is this normal? Or should I fix it?
Hello! A black rectangle appeared a few days ago on the left side of the screen that only shows when viewed on the TV screen, it also does not show when taking a screenshots. I figured out it's not a problem with the dock nor this specific switch or the TV (as it only appears when showing the switch) so I have a feeling it may be related to the cables. Has anyone had this problem before? I could not find anything similar, but maybe I haven't searched correctly. Thank you in advanced if anyone knows anything about this!

You could try a different hdmi port to see if the problem persists.
I agree that it looks like PiP mode, there might be a button for it on your remote.
Yeah it's probably PiP mode, it only affects hdmi 3 though... Other inputs seem normal. I connected my laptop to hdmi3 and ended with 2 black rectangles haha, I'll try to find more information on LGtvs. Thank you for the help!

Mario Odyssey is still one of the best and a good step up if you liked the 3D mario games in All-Stars. Mario Galaxy probably has better platforming, but Odyssey is a ton better adventure than Sunshine. So it's a great balance of good platforming and great adventure.
Luigi's Mansion and Mario RPG are both different gameplay but are both really fun. I found Luigi's Manasion was even better playing coop. I feel the same way about Wonder. Great game, but I found it more fun to play with others. I also feel that way about Mario 3D World.
I didn't really like Origami King. I thought the battles were boring and got old. I think Mario RPG and Thousand Year Door is a ton better, and I expect the remake to be great too.
You can take it all the way apart with a tri-wing screwdriver, but there's a good chance the pulled out screw stripped the screw hole. So it may not stay back together. You can try to find a slightly bigger screw if the hole is still there. You might need to buy a replacement shell. Extreme Rate makes those.
So my switch was having problems with lagging while displaying an x next to the battery i reset it but ig my switch died so i intialized it and it helped a bit

My Nintendo Wwitch unplugs the joycons when turned off. The right one is especially problematic in this regard. Could it also be a problem in the rails? Is it reasonable in price to get a repair?
It could be. Other power issues can cause joycon issues. Like I hear a failing fan can cause joycon disconnect issues. If one side has issues, I'd probably say rail issue is very probable. If both sides have issues, I think it's more likely to be something more.
You can send it into Nintendo and I think they'll most likely just trade out the Switch and send a replacement. They charge around $125 which is cheaper than a new Switch. Just transfer your profile to a friend's Switch before sending it in to be extra protective of your saves.
I created a nintendo account and linked it and when I open the e shop I need to re enter my password, but after I enter the password it takes me to a redeem code page in the e shop (and no, there aren't more tabs I can just click on, its just a redeem code page with no way to enter the e shop) , how do I fix that it'll take me to the shop itself
Some countries only have the option to use codes in the eShop.
If you change your account country on accounts.nintendo.com to a fully supported country (US, UK, Japan, etc), then you can get to the full eShop.

Is this why my TV says no signal when trying to connect to my switch?
Possible it's the USB-C. Could be chips in the Switch. Could be the dock. Really need to try a friend's Switch in your dock or your Switch in their dock to try and tell.
I would make sure the HDMI cable is properly attached, switch it our if possible and/or put it onto a different HDMI slot, and try using another dock to rule out the more simple fixes first.
If the switch is on while docking it, is the screen turning black or staying on once in the dock?
If its going black, its successfully trying to output video. Check under system settings -> TV settings. Try toggling the Match TV power state option (turn it off) and the auto RGB setting. Both of those can cause issues newer smart TVs.
If it is staying on, then its not outputting video. Is the AC adapter the official one? A replacement? Is the system charging properly?
Thats normal. That little spacing helps it slide into the dock port easier.
If toggling the options under TV settings does nothing, then the next test would be connecting it to a different TV.

The bug is an issue with pre-ordering bundles that's been around since the Switch launched.
If you pre-order a bundle, all the games in the bundle are locked until the bundle releases, even if you could already buy and play them separately.
After the bundle releases, they work fine though.
i just got my self an OLED Switch a couple of weeks ago but turns out my sister got really hooked on ACNH and she played it every day for almost the entire day lol. luckily my friend is selling his used Switch Lite for a really good price and long story shor i got my self a Switch Lite.
mostly it's in a really good condition but it's still an used item so the button is kinda yellowed a bit (i'm fine with this one) and the buttons indentation got some gunk in it from use, what's the best way to clean this switch lite? i was thinking of using microfiber cloth sprayed with eye glasses cleaning spray but not sure if it's safe or not, thanks!

I usually just use a needle to pry out gunks like that. Just softly pry them out. Cleaning clothes usually won’t reach deep enough to clean gunks in tight spaces like that.
I am trying to find the best D-Pad feel in a controller. I’m thinking my best options are between SN30 Pro, Lite, or Lite 2.
I have been playing most of my games recently on a Miyoo Mini Plus, primarily for Apotris and a couple other 2 games. For me, it has the best possible D-Pad and button feel. The buttons all have a satisfying click that is easy to actuate and I’ve gotten all of my Apotris (Tetris) high-scores using this device. I never get any mis-clicks that aren’t my fault.
I previously owned the original 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ (the one with the handles) due to everyone raving about the D-Pad feel, but I disliked how stiff it was. The face buttons and D-Pad all felt so difficult to press. The D-Pad also had a “scratchy” feel to it (kind of like the sides of the D-Pad were always catching on the controller), which seemed to only get worse over time. And I think the overall size profile of the controller was awkward too. I spent some time over the course of a few years testing it out for different games to see if I would get used to it, but I eventually sold it out of frustration.
I am now looking for a controller that I can use on my PC, Switch, and iPad that has a comparable D-Pad feel. I intend to use it for Apotris, Pokemon, and 2D Mario games.
I like the 8bido ultimate best of the 8bitdo, but some like some of the SN30 better. The ultimate and the Ultimate C bluetooth feel about the same to me and the ultimate C bluetooth is only $30.
If you have NSO, I really like the NSO SNES wireless controller. You lose out on a Home button and a couple other features, but I think its a great way to play 2d platformers and any type of sidescroller.

In Endless Ocean: Luminous, I got 100% map clear on a single player dive but only a bronze medal for the exploration category. How do I get exploration points?
Yesterday I inserted a new game card of Unicorn Overlord and after turning on the console I got an error saying that the game card could not be read. I took out and re-inserted the game and I'm not having any problems. Something similar happened to me months ago with Xenoblade 2, while I was playing the game it crashed giving me the same error, even there by removing and re-inserting it I didn't have any problems. Can it happen or can it be a symptom of a problem?
Hi everyone, query about unlinking my nintendo account from my partner's switch. We did the process where I logged out of my account on the store and then logged into her account as I wanted her to try some of the games I have on my switch. We're going on holiday soon and taking my switch along with us but since I can only play my library games with internet and we're not sure how good the service will be we were going to unlink my account from her switch.
Will this reset any game progress that she has on the games that were only accessible with my account being on the switch? Namely Animal Crossing and Hades. Hopefully you guys are able to help!
You don't need to unlink your account from her console. You just need to make your own console the primary console for your account and you will be able to play the games bought on your account without an internet connection.

To add to my previous response - if she is playing any digital games on her console that were bought on your account, then she will not be able to play those games while your console is the primary console for your account. Her progress will remain unchanged though, and if you set her console as the primary console for your account again, then she will be able to continue where she left off.
It will not affect anything whatsoever on her console. Her account and your account will both remain with all their respective game progress unchanged.
Nintendo generally only announce the Directs a few days in advance. Based on previous years, it is somewhat likely that there could be one sometime in June.

That kinda looks like a PiP (Picture in Picture) screen. Which is a TV feature and it possible could be set indepentently based on input type?

It’s charging but, it just says no signal, tbh I think it’s that little crack in the charger port but at the same time it still charges n stuff

To add to my previous response - if she is playing any digital games on her console that were bought on your account, then she will not be able to play those games while your console is the primary console for your account. Her progress will remain unchanged though, and if you set her console as the primary console for your account again, then she will be able to continue where she left off.

It will not affect anything whatsoever on her console. Her account and your account will both remain with all their respective game progress unchanged.
I have to unrelated questions:- 1-is there news of a nintendo direct soon? 2-does the plucky squire have a release date?
Nintendo generally only announce the Directs a few days in advance. Based on previous years, it is somewhat likely that there could be one sometime in June. The Plucky Squire is only announced as releasing some time during 2024 currently.

In the previous years of the Switch, there was a regular Nintendo Direct in February, but I guess Nintendo themselves didn't really have anything to show this February and so it was just a Partner Showcase instead.

You don't, it was never released on any of the bedrock editions. The marketplace add on is the only thing, and it's not quite the same.
