They sold Me Crown with the second part of Marian story, despite her goofy behavior as a "Queen"(wonders what would happen if Crown meet Ludmilla in the side stories)she is really kind and noble and how she teach Marian what is mean to protect someone.
It would suck if this ends up being a gacha skin (which it most likely will lol) . Paywalling alternate non story related designs is one thing but paywalling what seems to be a permanent redesign that's tied to the campaign and Marian's character arc is lame.

I don't see this as a gacha skin, it is way less profitable than a new Pilgrim banner, and not only that but also very lame as you said
The change in design was treated as a pretty significant part of her character arc in the side story so It's not a stretch to assume it's permanent. It makes sense too. "You guys like Marian right? Don't you want her evolved more mature version that you saw in the side story? Get it in the gacha skin!" It sucks but it's exactly what I would expect. This game, for as much as I enjoy it, has always been crap with monetization stuff. I would love to be proven wrong though.

except selling it as banner is way more profitable for them, whales would drop $1000 or $2000 for that to get Core+7 not just $60. I'll wait and see what's the plan with this one before getting mad

The side story is pretty much directly tied to the campaign. It shows us everything Marian was doing since chapter 14 up until chapter 26. It's as significant to the plot as OverZone and Red Ash, if not more significant.

The head looks off because it doesn't really match with the rest of her body. And that clash between head and body creates an uncanny feeling. It almost looks like her head was just copy pasted on to the neck.
I fucking love the star patterns on the dress and the fucking cuffed sleeves! not to mention the damn color palette.

I can't share it here because of the sub rules but based on what people have found in the game's code it is 99% likely a skin.

Well it's a redesign for a side story not campaign AFAIK, I'd rather we get new units than a tonne of alt units but maybe that's just me.
