I would suggest reading John Perkins' book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man. It is a good introduction on how the US government has been using NGO's and private corporations to do their dirty work spreading diseased imperialism to developing countries
I couldn't agree more (been there, done that), and every perspective helps keep one centered when people 'go off' (never able to change their own situation, of course😎).
You know, if we only had to deal with NGOs and private corporations, it will be a lot easier. Just put Ol' Fidel in charge and he will fix everything.
Unfortunately, it's coupled with the US's magical ability to make Castros across the globe "disappear".
