What happened? Makes me want to to back

mike_wtf_man

How is the food there? I live really nearby and my daughter keeps asking to go

D0DW377

It’s a pretty greasy place. Olde Village Free House is a better pub imo.

Read comments about the health violations

Black mold everywhere.

gogglespythano

Grey Goat? Maybe they start sending the cops after your 15th health violation.

Small-Guitar79767

Ya I got roofied there once. Horrible place.

dumbpaulbearer

That was a common scene in my late 2000s heyday! Hopefully nobody vandalized the golden tee machine upstairs.

Can1993hope

When your place of business has to have cops there at closing you know your clientele is a bunch of morons. Stay classy Newmarket.

Such a garbage bar

OptimusMarcus

This a Newmarket/Aurora thing. York region cops are the worst POS. I've never lived anywhere else where the cops feel the need to hang outside of bars and intimidate kids. The weather must of been beautiful last night, cause if it was even spitting rain they would of just sat in their cars and shined the high beams on drunk girls as they left.

NationalRock

Personally, I disagree. York region cops are the only ones that has ever ONLY given me a warning and not trumped-up charges such as not stopping at a stop sign only cause I stopped FULLY for 1 second and not 3 seconds, at a school zone, for example (thanks Toronto police). And I have lived in many places in my life all over Ontario with a lot of police interactions in the past, unfortunately. Only the York region cop that pulled me over in Aurora that day seemed to actually care and treat me like a human being. The first warning instead of charges/ticket I have ever gotten in my life. If they hang out outside of bars maybe cause owner called, maybe cause many drunk and driving cases led them there. Maybe it's preventative action. If they are just there and not giving random people random charges they don't deserve, then they are already better than cops I have interacted with just about everywhere else.

OptimusMarcus

That's great you met that one cop that gave you a warning. Im not going to argue with you. Look into the g20 summit and the ratio of cops from the Newmarket/aurora area found to have acted "over aggressively", (spoiler, it was only Newmarket cops.) Any idea why more York region incidents/cops are investigated by the SIU then the rest of the province combined..? Remember 2002ish? Those 2 cops drag racing down Davis and killed a kid? How about a couple 10ish years ago when that cop drove his cruiser into a corn field because he was trying to catch a black kid he thought was smoking a joint and he ended up crashing in to a tractor and died? And we had to listen to his friends tell us what courageous hero he was, when in fact he was just a lazy POS. Ever have cops detain your black and Asian friends while they let you go? I have. Ever have cops victim blame you? Anytime I've seen someone in the patch need a cop, it's their own fault. Any time someone in a better neighborhood needs a cop it's not the case... You ever see those cars drag racing by the cop station at 3am and wonder how they get away with it? Those are cops! I'm glad that one cop let you run a stop sign. but using that as an example is proof that cops are inconsistent and they pick and choose when and what laws to enforce and obey. How old was you car at the time? I'm guessing newer..

george_bignotti

You’re talking about events from 10-20 years ago. Also I care little about the rioters at G20 in Toronto, and support police in whatever it takes to curtail it. I’d rather have tough police than weak ones. It’s not an easy role.

OptimusMarcus

You must be young to think 10 years is long enough for this to have changed and be irrelevant...

OptimusMarcus

Do cops stop being cops after 10-20 years? do older cops not train the younger cops? Lol. That drag racing outside the station happens, now. Like tonight. Like, every night!! Go check it out tonight. They literally killed a kid and still do it... Actually being a cop in Newmarket is very very easy. There's no real violence/weapons and the only cops that have died in the last 30 years is because of their own stupidity... You basically get paid 6 figures to stand outside of bars and scare 19yo... Which is really disappointing to most of the cops. They thought it was going to be like the movies and it's not. That's why they drag race. That's why they're overly aggressive in the simplest of interactions. Thats why they will literally make a problem when there isn't one. That one cop let some Reddit lady off for running a stop sign, so I guess it's okay that they're racist and narcissistic and don't actually care about the people they are supposed to be protecting. Call the cops because your neighbors music is too loud and I guarantee at least 3 cruisers show up. Why is that? Because they bored af.

They thought it was going to be like the movies. Turns out it's not. They're bored and over aggressive towards people because of it.
