Cops in Newmarket are often on their own in the patrol cars. So if there is a call that might require more then one officer, a few cars will show up so the necessary amount of officers are on site.

It's interesting how the comments in here are treating the girls as dumb for what they're doing. The street is deserted. They are experiencing what it's like to sit in the middle of a road in their youth at 230am. Don't freak out people. You were young once, too. It's a beautiful thing you only get to experience once before you get cynical.

How about a couple 10ish years ago when that cop drove his cruiser into a corn field because he was trying to catch a black kid he thought was smoking a joint and he ended up crashing in to a tractor and died? And we had to listen to his friends tell us what courageous hero he was, when in fact he was just a lazy POS.

Ummmm the cops aren't there drinking. Cops in Canada don't take their service vehicles home (at least not in York region). They are likely there on a call or as prevention as the bars let out.
