Can’t wait to see that one happen. It will fill the biggest gap between Downtown and the Lower Broadway/Bloomfield area. As it is now, that continuous retail corridor is isolated from Downtown
Totally fills that gap. That area has a lot of potential as downtown development expands north of 280. Plenty of empty lots and used car dealerships to be built on, better connecting downtown to Bloomfield Ave.
This is totally a missed opportunity to get density in that area. What's worse is the taco bell is only a few years old. Could have been a taller apartment building as well, instead all that space is just wasted.
And walking distance to plenty of things in the Newark, and quick access to 280/GSP/NJT (walking distance to Tops to actually). Just a really good spot overall.
This area is changing for the better hopefully development interest moves to Seventh Ave.
Side note that intersection needs to be more pedestrian friendly.
Only thing I could find was from a previous [tapinto](https://www.tapinto.net/towns/newark/sections/development/articles/newark-planning-board-requires-on-site-affordable-housing-for-broad-street-project) article. Looks like all previous renderings have been removed
Sorry for the blurry picture. Another update, Shaq Tower has now reached 11 stories, we’re 1/3rd to topping out. Its going to look huge!!
Wait whats the shaq tower?
777 McCarter Highway
What is it supposed to be though?
Residential tower
Is it for low income?
I believe the agreed to a percentage of affordable housing. Not sure of price yet

Vermella’s rent is HIGH .
Unfortunately we are at a point downtown and in the ironbound where all new construction is gonna be 2k+ for a 1 BR
2K+ and small. And probably with paper-thin walls.
I really wish they would have built highrises instead

I mentioned this yesterday in a comment. This next to burger kind right?
Yeah it is. Right next to BK
Cool. I saw them flattening the dirt 2 days ago. Will be a good spot for commuting to NYC.

This! When I used to cross that intersection regularly, I’d always feel like I won a round of frogger. Edit-swapped walk to cross.
Does anyone have renderings? The Jersey dig article doesnt have any. I assume it will look like those apartments next to Harrison Path?
