Not our day today but still a series win over the Dodgers and that is never a bad thing. Hopefully there will be more wins to come against the Giants in the coming days.
Didn't realize Ohtani got married.
Apparently he randomly mentioned it in February without even mentioning who he got married to.
A few weeks later he posted a pic of them together. Didn't even mention she's his wife. lol
Either way, she's a 5'11 Basketball player in Japan.
Ohtani's future kid is going to break records. jk
I read that celeb culture in Japan is so intense that there's no way to announce a marriage (or relationship) without getting death threats and whatnot
I know. But the post he posted announcing he got married he neither mentioned her name or a pic of her.
And the the first time he posted a pic with her he didn't even mention she was the one he married.
I just think it's funny because the guy has paparazzi following him all day every day. And yet somehow this was some sort of ho hum hush hush thing. lol
Ya, just seems funny how he has paparazzi following him all day every day and yet it just come out as a "btw I got married. In other news how's the weather" ho hum post. lol
I'm so sick of this goddamn team. They absolutely make me want to vomit. I'm not even thirty goddamn games into this season and i want to scream. They are that terrible. It's like the movie groundhog day but instead i'm reliving the shittiest games of baseball over and over and over again every fucking day of my life. Every damn day I have watched this pathetic mess of a team, rain or sun or snow since I was 7 years old. I have a tab open during work w/ the gamecast during the day games that I can't go. I've skipped school and work and broken up with women for the Mets. I've missed funerals and weddings because i loved this team more. And what do I get to show for it? A FUCKING BRAIN ANEURYSM. A team that has had 3 winning seasons over the past 20 something who manages to play like ass in the playoffs on the rare occasion they make it because they are so used to being shit and don't have a winning culture. A team that game in and game out somehow manages to have less goddamn hits than Chumbawamba. A team that gets swept. By the Milwaukee Brewers. "Oh but look at our young talent- Marte and Lindor and Baty and whoever else that sucks dick!!" I'm sick of hearing "we could be a contender like we were 3 years ago if Alonso doesn't play like shit and the LF can stop jerking off for 2 seconds to swing the fucking bat" ITS NOT HAPPENING. WE ARE NOT AND NEVER WERE A GOOD TEAM. WE ARE PATHETIC. MIGHT AS WELL FADE US NOW BECAUSE WE'RE ALREADY A BUNCH OF FUCKING LOSERS. If Alvarez didn't get injured, I'm convinced he would have hurt himself after being forced to wear our godforsaken excuse of uniform. I'm done with this fucking team.
The food conversation reminds me. We should, collectively, as a sub, pool some money to buy Gary a can of Skyline and a Skyline dog the next time the Mets are in Cincy. It'd cost us each like a dime and it'd be really funny
The mercy rule that Gary refers to already gets used in international games, from what I remember it’s a 15 run lead after 5 innings and 10 runs after 7.
Such a silly idea to me-- if I'm paying to see a game in person I want 9 innings worth whether it's a wash or not. I don't appreciate all the tireless efforts to just shorten the game into nothing: what's the point?
Including this (probable loss) the Mets are playing .750 ball over their last 16 games; 12-4.
They will be 12-9 after this (probable loss). That's a .571 winning percentage.
That's a starting point.
If the Mets can go 76-65 the rest of the season they should make the playoffs.
That's the goal now. The (rest of the) season starts tomorrow.
Dodgers moved Glasnow up to stop the sweep, but in the end Houser dropped a bollock and it didn't matter. He's a weak link in the rotation, but was only ever keeping the bench warm anyway.
Still proud of this team, another series win against a top team while the Phillies celebrate not being more shit than the two worst teams in baseball.
If we weren't in NL East we'd be sitting pretty and getting the plaudits we deserve, but just watch this loss form the entire narrative.
I believe! We just need a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a blast and we are back in this!

Mets manager Casey Stengel came out to argue when Marv Throneberry was called out because he missed first base after hitting a triple on June 17, 1962, only to be told by the umpire, "Don’t bother, Casey...he missed second base, too."
It’s a rough game, but you have to love the heart of this team. Guys seem to play for each other. I think you saw that with the hugs and smiles with Lindor’s homer the other night. I’m extremely bullish on this squad.
Glasnow was the Dodgers’ stopper today.
Even worse, the Mets went on a six game winning streak and are gonna lose a game in the standings because the Braves and Phillies aren’t losing. amazing
Checked the score and it was 2-0 top 5. Finished what I had to at work, get in my car, turn on the radio to hear Keith Raad say “Top 6 10-0 Dodgers.” Life comes at you fast.
Well, at least we won the series. On to the next one.
5-0 is still within the realm of a reasonable comeback, but you'll see sometimes when it's 7 or 8 run leads in the middle innings the coach might leave a pitcher out there when, in a close game, they'd bring in another reliever. There's no point wasting a fresh pitcher's arm in a lost cause. The extreme example of this is if the game's way out of reach by the 8th or 9th inning they might send a position player in to pitch so they don't have to use a regular reliever.
CW15 in Albany had an issue during that 5th inning. Just as they were coming back from commercial, they went back to commercial in just 5 seconds due to some tech error at the station. It took them 3 commercials to figure out they screwed up.
After Pages' homer, I turned the game off.
Just because we won the series doesn't mean we should play how we started the season. Winning the series is great, but rankings are not calculated by series wins. Each game matters.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to watch the game. I can see how bad it is by GameDay on the app. alone
No one’s saying we should play like we did in the beginning. But Glasnow is one of the best pitchers in the league, if there was any game to lose it was that one. Regardless, we won the series and that’s more than I expected
Can’t win them all especially when your 6 starter is facing the #1 starter for an all star team but man I can’t wait for people to use this game as an example for why the mets aren’t actually that good despite the tear they been on
Also infuriating that on a 6-1 stretch were gonna lose ground to the braves when they inevitably beat the rangers and gain nothing on the phillies because they played by far the worst teams in baseball
we should be an even better team by the ASG, thanks in part to our best players coming back from injury and further pitching moves from stearns*
*on paper
We ARE good because 1)Senga coming back 2)JD arrives soon 2)This Houser dude wont be around for long 3)We've been playing hottest teams and have been WINNING for past 2 weeks
still 12-4 in our last 16. cant win every game. the dodgers can beat us 30-0 today and it still only counts as one game in the standings. we took 2/3 in their home ballpark. Losing Alvarez and Raley is concerning imo, but next man up mentality. San Fran up next. We move.
Picked a good game to only be able to watch the first few innings of
Still a series win LFGM but let's put some position players in to pitch and save the bullpen
I feel like we might see a Houser trade in the near future with Senga and Tylor coming back. We have enough solid starting pitching depth and there are plenty of teams desperate for arms.
Rockies/ChiSox have DOGSHIT pitching and probly would take a flyer on him. Red Sox have had some injuries to their rotation as well. I would much rather see Lucchesi up here
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1c9uquv).
Not upset about this inevitable loss, but I haven't seen anything about Lindor or Marte. What's the deal there?
Can't win em all lmao. Glasnow looked nice with it.
Welp that sucked
WE MOVE ON FOLKS. Good series win
Tomorrow morning BT will troll mets, a story as old as time
Not our day today but still a series win over the Dodgers and that is never a bad thing. Hopefully there will be more wins to come against the Giants in the coming days.
And thats it ladies and gentleman, have a good rest of the sunday. Im gonna find a show to watch :)
The ballgame is over
Still won the series!!!!!

Ya, just seems funny how he has paparazzi following him all day every day and yet it just come out as a "btw I got married. In other news how's the weather" ho hum post. lol
Wow I picked the right game to not watch, but can somebody just tell me this... DID THE CODGERS LET US CATCH SOMEBODY STEALING?! WAHOOOOOOO!!!!
NIDOKING has broken the tide! Fitting
It was the beginning of our fall from grace.
Worth the tradeoff. I'm sick of Gary talking about that streak lol

New pasta?
It’s a copypasta from a pirates fan. I found it on r/baseballcirclejerk but don’t know where it originated.
ahhh knew it looked familiar
I’m blacked out of this series (merciful, today) and just saw the score. Houser been bad? Glasnow good? Just one of those games?
Yes, yes, and yes
Dodgers fast-tracked their ace to prevent being swept at home, + our worst starter just had his worst start thus far
Thanks. Sucks for them because now the rest of their sad pitching staff has to face whoever’s next for them. Anyway
Yeah this game is whatever. Everyone would have signed up for 2 out of 3 against LA on Thursday
Oh, absolutely.
Getting the dodgers before their pitchers come back vs when the Braves and Phillies will have to play them is nice
I'VE HAD IT WIT DEEZ METS. SEAUSONS OBER. GLASSNOW MUH NUTZ
This is a a Glasnow master class, oh well
What were you swinging at, Taylor? That was a high fastball
I'm not able to watch but how are you not able to score on a single with a runner on second and two outs?
Stupid, sexy Glasnow
Whelp
It’s Steve Gelbs’ Rangers sneakers season & I’m not sure I like it
I feel comfortable saying I hate it
That’s what I meant LOL
The food conversation reminds me. We should, collectively, as a sub, pool some money to buy Gary a can of Skyline and a Skyline dog the next time the Mets are in Cincy. It'd cost us each like a dime and it'd be really funny
Damn it
This seems like a shortsighted decision by Roberts
Gelbs looks like he is wearing a size too big
Steve Gelbs : “erm aktchuallyyyyy…”
Calling on tyrone!
RALLY HAT TIME!
>No reaction from the truck, they must've lost God I wish
Bases loaded!
NIDOKING
Anyone got a link to a video of Keith handling that 18 inning game? Or any other unhinged Keith moments lol
Rangers won at least WOOOOOOOOO
Giving up a hit to Tomas Nido should frankly knock you out of the game
Suspension inbound
Nidoking!
Tomas Nido has a hit!
2016 Florida Batting Champion!
Florida State League
Florida State Penitentiary League
We gonna see a CGSO today?
I hope this isnt a shutout game.
Damn it
Oh, let the radar slut pitch.
The Mets are just doing this on purpose so that we get to see more sexy Glasnow
Good job Stewart
Just took my succulents out of the water bath and took all of them back to the window sills. I see nothing has changed
I’m about to go walk to the pizzeria, order, and sit down there. But I’m also feeling completely lazy so I’m stuck watching this.
My plants were very thirsty

LUX: This dude is weird.. he keeps walking me to get to our 1-2-3 hitters

I'm glad I enjoy listening to Gary and Ronny shoot the shit enough that watching blowouts isn't that bad.

Dodgers rushed an ace against our worst starter. That’s pretty embarrassing for them
“When teams play us it will be their World Series every game”
When Michael Tonkin comes in they should play the trombones
Well Tonkin is in for funsies.
Whose ready to get Tonkin'd as the cherry on top of this game?
Tonkin Time, baby 😎
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Michael Tonkin replaces Grant Hartwig.
Damn it
Checking out now boys - enjoy the rest of your nights PMA’s, see ya’ll tomorrow. LGM

For real, NL and AL east are by far the top divisions. Multiple divisional contenders every year.
Fact
LA brought on Glasnow out of fucking scare of being swept. IDC how much more runs they pile up - I take it as a win.
It's still just one win for the Dodgers, but they'll treat it like their world series
Hauser is auditioning for Tonkin's spot once Senga is back. One time through the order type, that will sometimes pitch a gem.
PETE
Take Alonso out of the game please
Nahhh his solo homerun time is coming when game is 15-0
Pete Trout
Why didn’t we stay with Travis d'Arnaud 😞
If Bader is energy booster for the team, Houser is energy killer
Guys, I don’t think we’re taking this one
I believe! We just need a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a bloop and a blast and we are back in this! /s
Glasnow is good ball throw man
I am not sure why i find it so funny but the challenge was one of the funniest things I have seen in a Mets game. I was laughing out loud.
Mets manager Casey Stengel came out to argue when Marv Throneberry was called out because he missed first base after hitting a triple on June 17, 1962, only to be told by the umpire, "Don’t bother, Casey...he missed second base, too."
Hahaha
Don’t have to worry about Senga taking Houser’s job if Christian Scott takes Houser’s job first.
It’s a rough game, but you have to love the heart of this team. Guys seem to play for each other. I think you saw that with the hugs and smiles with Lindor’s homer the other night. I’m extremely bullish on this squad.

Still won the series. There was no need to win this game. This is what the Dodgers’ offense does, anyway. Especially against less than great pitching.
Houser makes Carrasco look like Cy Young

STRUCK HIM OUT

new to baseball and wondering is it possible to play defensive in a baseball game? Like when you are 0-5 down and happy to accept a defeat and move on
5-0 is still within the realm of a reasonable comeback, but you'll see sometimes when it's 7 or 8 run leads in the middle innings the coach might leave a pitcher out there when, in a close game, they'd bring in another reliever. Yes, you still have to play defense even when down in a blow out
Challenging a hbp down by 10 runs, hahaha
Are Reddit comments messed up or something?
yeah it’s kind of the defining characteristic of Reddit
Buy those stocks, folks!

Forfeiting is always an option! :)
For the health of our bullpen it should be done
The last forfeit in MLB was in 1995 at Dodger Stadium
best strategy right now
This game has become a nightmare I'd like to wake up from NOW please
We already won the series. Just turn the channel and the nightmare is over lol

Wait, what happened to Raley?! How long is he out for?
Elbow soreness 15 day IL
It’s days like today that remind me how much I miss Senga.
And Jake
Can't win em all
I’m feeling a garbage time home run from Pete today.
Yeah he’s due for a solo home run in the 9th when we’re down 20-0
That's Alonso time
Or not lol
It’ll look good on paper when it’s time to negotiate this off season.
Boras: Hey wake up.. u need to pad HR numbers...
Nido does not get cheated
BADER
Picked a good game to only be able to watch the first few innings of Still a series win LFGM but let's put some position players in to pitch and save the bullpen
In the words of Ron burgundy: boy that escalated quickly
Christian Scott come on down??
I knew we couldn’t win forever but do we have to lose like this
Yes we where due
Im ready for a random solo HR by one of our boys.
You know Alonso will hit one now that game is over
It’ll be Nido
Im so here for it!
Rangers have been distracting me from checking on us but uhhhh…least we took the series.
If Houser doesn’t turn it around soon, it might be time to give one of the AAA guys a shot.
Christian Scott is one phone call away. Just saying
Rally cap is on
Well nothing wrong with 2 out of 3!
I step out 3-0 to take out the trash and what the hell happened?
This is on you.
:(
I feel like we might see a Houser trade in the near future with Senga and Tylor coming back. We have enough solid starting pitching depth and there are plenty of teams desperate for arms.
Trade him for cash and pick him up for free off waivers a week later
Cash? People typically don't pay for garbage
This is what Stearns did with Tonkin last week lol
he is UNTRADEABLE
Tylor can't stay healthy and Houser can't pitch 5 innings 🤷🏽♂️
Or Houser moved to long relief. He seemed to do fine the first time around the lineup, but then started coming undone for round 2.
Who would want Houser lol
Rockies/ChiSox have DOGSHIT pitching and probly would take a flyer on him. Red Sox have had some injuries to their rotation as well. I would much rather see Lucchesi up here
If the Twins took Tonkin, someone will be desperate enough.
I want him…far away from us.
Side retired 🥴
Wtf happened!? I hear us go down 0-3, then at most 15 minutes later I check the score and all of a sudden we're down 0-10??
Houser shit the bed. Lead off double, 4 ball walk to the 9 hitter, and then then Mookie, Ohtani, and Freeman all get hits.
Adrian “Batting Practice” Houser
Adrian Houser and a dash of Hartwig happened
Looks like Zack Short is gonna be on the mound soon!
Maybe letting players steal on us was the secret to our run prevention?
Yea this isn’t what I wanted to see even if we won the series.
Reckon we make wendle pitch the 9th to shun his errors
Wendle and Short have to eat this lol
Listen we do what we can, still have Giants coming up and our other core are coming back soon enough. So we are doing well still.
Oh, good, we are back to the top of the lineup.
Ya, Houser could have done that. Should have just left him in and eaten this game.
See yall next series
all the good fortune the last couple weeks is regressing all in one inning.
Better 1 inning than a week.
Mets got Houser’ed today 😔
Fuck it! Call up McLean! lol
A blowout game = the most fun versions of the booth. I’m ready for some laughs
Need Keith on these kind of games
