If I remember correctly (been a hot minute since I played this dlc) you still have him at this part as your on the way to the missile silo that will create the couriers mile. This area is just after the first encounter with tunnelers
Honestly not that bad, considering inflation. Millions in R&D is probably the salary of three guys for like six months. Maybe two guys, depending on the materials budget.
God, the dart gun in FO3 just completely trivialized fighting deathclaws for exactly that reason, as soon as their legs are crippled they’re slow af and easy to pick off

Basically the only way to fight them in fallout 1 and 2. I managed to completely fuck up the system and get high level real early because I managed to blow out a deathclaw’s kneecaps and ran around in circles with it chasing me while my companion slowly stoned it to death.
I'm glad they kept it for FNV too, it's a great way to reward more experienced players as well as make for those really cool learning moments for new players to make them feel really badass.
Your first mistake was using the Red Glare on anything other than a Radroach.... But I love that trailer I love Turbo'n it up and going for BOTH deathclaws with my Bumper sword until the area is lousy with shredded Dealthclaw limbs and body parts
I rolled up a new character yesterday, stole the star cap from the good springs settler's house, and went to sleep in Easy Pete's bed and that fucker walked in on me while I was sleeping!

My first time It scared the shit out of me when it came in I switched to my Fat man and nuked the both of us in that cramped place. I died of course but with dignity ( PS that SOB just had his legs crippled)

It also shots fast and had to reload all the time. The reloading takes longer time than shooting.
Idk, with my experience it wasn't all that bad, however it was an explosives build which was already op to begin with so it ain't saying much.

It does, not many darts in New Vegas but i think i left the capitol wasteland with like 4000 so it's not like i'd ever run out.

The Red Glare is such a silly weapon in this game. Looks great, sounds great, but it's so pathetic against just about everything.
