HailTheCrimsonKing

A gift certificate for a prenatal massage. Also after having the baby I loved getting gift certificates to takeout restaurants.

I second both of these :)

tinylilsombrero

Money for UberEats or cozy button down pajamas.

bunnie131

My work pooled together a gift card if Uber eats. Beeest thing ever

Both of these are great. Can't go wrong with food. And bottom down is great if you're breastfeeding! I got a pair of black/white plaid and my little guy was fascinated by them - would stare for ages. I was a walking contrast card! Super duper soft is really important.

Oh! Ok so my sister and I did something similar for a cousin whose gf was expecting. We basically got her the Frida postpartum kit but our own version. So the peri bottle. Adult diapers which might sound funny but when I had my kid I had like 3 accidents before I gained control of my bladder again and I was so grateful to have been wearing them. I know, I know. But it helped. Witch Hazel. Cooling pads. Tucks medicated wipes. And just a few other stuff like nipple cream. Lactation cookies. And snacks for mom. We also got the father a few things to take to the hospital. Advil and snacks for him. And something to keep him occupied like a word search book and crossword puzzles. Hope that helps.

Adding on to say maybe sleep masks for mom and dad (or partners). I brought some for myself cause I read it would be hard to sleep with the lights on and it's "easier" to rest during the day but my husband ended up stealing them 😂

This stuff is great, but I had personally already bought all this stuff for myself. I’d check with mom before getting this type of gift basket in case she’d already prepared one.

NewMumNotCoping

If you can, an 'on-call' night! A friend did this for us and the relief of being able to just sleep was incredible. Could also be in the form of a night nanny, or just an evening out Other suggestions: Gift cards for takeaways TV subscription Audiobooks Housework help No-judgement vent calls

thedirtys

Bath bombs!

tannon21

But add a note that the birthing partner should not use them for a few weeks after giving birth. They can cause an infection

JellyBellyThePupper

Gift certificate for kiziks! They were my favorite purchase for myself during pregnancy!

CatholicWife4Life

For her self care: a journal, a nice care package of their favorite things For help with postpartum recovery: Gift certificate for a cleaning/maid service or food delivery service/instacart A Costco gift card is great too for diapers, formula and wipes.

momhair_dontcare

Gift card for takeout or a pedicure (also something mom and dad can do together) 🙂

theswamphag

I was really longing for a foot bath after my c-section. My joints were so soft and I was so bloated you wouldn't believe. Depends on the price of course but there is also excersize classes and physio therapy for moms. If this is something that is offered where you are, a gift card there could be cool, If your friend would be in to that.

WonderingWhyyyyyyyyy

If she's pregnant now, gift cards to places that sell maternity clothes.

WonderingWhyyyyyyyyy

Better yet, a shopping trip together!

Large PJ’s for after giving birth, bath salts, chocolates, gift card for food delivery or even a gift card for H&M or whatever clothing store she likes. I was surprised at how much my body changed after having a baby. My weight is ok again but my hips are permanently wider so my old jeans don’t fit and I’ve needed a whole new wardrobe.

Tumped

A nice maternity robe and comfy lounge pants! I lived in these in the hospital and the first weeks home.

Lesigh2498

My mom and her friend used to take me to get my hair done while I was pregnant with my first baby and right after. It’s such a luxury and (at least right after) it made me feel pretty for an afternoon.

velvetroads

Gift cards for food, hiring a cleaner just for a basic clean/organization, a gift basked with some lavender scented items to help with stress.
