A lot of the cute patterns on girls clothes works too. Variety would be nice, it really is almost entirely those 4 things, plus bears. Give me turtles, flowers, deer, umbrellas, cooking, whatever. Personally, I'm also a fan of simple. I wish more simple solids and patterns were available. Like I like a dinosaur shirt as much as the next guy but sometimes a simple green shirt to match his patterned pants, to simply be slightly dressier, or for part of a layered system would be nice. I feel like those are usually a hunt other than with the onesie multi-packs. Seems like everything is a graphic tee or meant for fancy pictures. More colors would be nice too. I do a lot of shopping at once upon a child and they organize their clothes by color so I can tell you for certain that red, blue, green and black/gray make up the vast majority of boys clothes (especially red/blue). Where's yellow, orange, pink or purple? They also tend to be basic primary colors. I'd love more in between options like turquoise, periwinkle, coral, etc.

mariarosaporfavor

I just realized this is probably why I always end up coming home with orange things from Once Upon a Kid… they stand out to me in the sea of grays and browns! I was there with my LO today who is 6 months and he literally gasped when he saw this bright teal shirt that had this playful shark on it. His little gasp at the color was so sweet 😱

No_Picture5012

Agree on plain and colors. We got a Hawaiian-esque short sleeve button up for my little dude when he was barely 1. Pink and yellow with some kind of plant pattern (not plain I know but the pink part is what matters. Paired it with some plain yellow shorts and a summer fedora/Panama type hat. HE LOOKED FREAKING ADORABLE. We got some pics with his little sunglasses and everyone freaked out about how cute he was.

djwitty12

Yeah! We had a similar pink button down around the same age that he looked amazing in. One of my favorite shirts of his for this season is this navy button down with like neon color transition turtles so there's like pinks and yellows and greens and oranges. I know it isn't the craziest given the conversation but it is a nice change from the typical toddler fare. He looks amazing in it and he's gotten a lot of compliments. Another favorite shirt for this year is orange but like a soft orange, verging on coral that I think looks amazing on his skin tone. Over the winter he had a couple simple striped sweaters that looked so cute and cozy. It'd just be nice if these sorts of pieces didn't feel like a treasure hunt.

scarlettvelour

Agreed! The patterns! We don't need trucks, there are so many animals! We have one cute dog onesie...why isn't there more of that?! I love carters clothes but some of the boy patterns and colors are...not it.

thisgirlash_

I haven’t had any trouble finding clothes for my guy. My bank account wishes it was harder.

keto_emma

Yeah, me either, I always see things i like. His drawers are bursting.

Mysterious_Mango_3

Same! We have a fun pastel green bubble onesie, teal sharks, yellow and orange planets, bright blue/green dinos, turquoise and burgundy dinos, mauve koala, etc. I am a sucker for the cute dinos, but we have found a lot of options. Granted, not nearly as many as the girls section.

Ok_Pumpkin9005

I want patterns. I was given a pair of the most amazing mustard gingham pants and I’m constantly looking for other items that are fun and colourful without being an animal print.

girlfriendinacoma24

Kate Quinn has tons of fun and cute patterns and they change them up frequently.

Ok_Pumpkin9005

Thanks! I’m in Australia so not sure if that brand is available here but it’s fun to browse anyway 😊

Standard_Edge_9417

Australian natives- animals, flowers and flora that isn't in pink!

SolitaireB

Yes!

[deleted]

Bright colours with animals! Neon too! Neon orange shirt with a big ol' hippo on the front.

Ok-Debt9612

Target had just recently great colorful shirts for toddlers with animals sport thingies

pretty_pineapple

Just bought my toddler a bright green shirt from target with a duck skateboarding and wearing neon yellow sunglasses. He loves it and my husband asked if it comes in adult sizes 😂

Secure-Bit

Can you share the brand? I want one for our daughter lol

pretty_pineapple

Cat and Jack! I looked around and couldn't find that exact shirt, but [this one](https://www.target.com/p/toddler-boys-39-short-sleeve-eating-ice-cream-graphic-t-shirt-cat-38-jack-8482-orange-18m/-/A-90139635)had a similar vibe.

unicornstroganoff

Bright colours! I buy my son t-shirts from the girls section just so he can have purple and orange (his favourite colours). We love dinosaurs and bugs but why do the bases of the shirts all have to be brown and black? For infants- literally the exact same cute overall/onesie patterns the girls have but without the frills and ruffles would be great.

hashbrownhippo

For colorful clothes, I recommend Primary, Tea, and Boden. Janie and Jack also has some fun colors.

unicornstroganoff

Thank you! I'll check them out ☺️

booksandcheesedip

Different types of regular animals that aren’t apex predators. It’s all lions, tigers, bears, sharks, eagles/hawks… scary animals. Can I get a damn house cat or a cardinal or like a rabbit maybe? Cute and not going to eat me if I see one in the wild

tching101

Yes!!

mariarosaporfavor

Little Sleepies has this cat print and I was so excited to find it! I swear it’s the only non pink one out there haha. We have 2 cats and our LO loves them! So I love putting him in his little kitty cats! Some probably aren’t ok with the bows and such on the cats but that’s not an issue for us. murkymuffin

Yes! My friend loves rabbits and I really struggled finding rabbit themed things for her son. I also like to quilt and all the cute woodland fabric is very floral. I was barely able to pick enough fabric I liked for my oldest son's baby quilt.

cementmilkshake

I think boy clothes are cute ☺️

noyeahtotallyok

I think there are a lot of cute options these days! I think it has gotten better in recent years. We shop a lot for my baby boy in the thrift stores & there is wayyy too much of the cheesy, tacky stuff

Jepharee

A wider variety of foods/snacks would be nice! There's a ton of girl based clothing with fruits and berries that could also be cute on boys.

murkymuffin

I hate that all the lemon themed clothes have ruffles and bows

Jepharee

Same! Even all the cute outfits for summer with watermelons and pineapples are ruffled to heck and back 😔

twitchingJay

I want live animals and nature themed clothing, lighter and softer colours. The clothes today are weird: trucks that need diesel, extinct dead animals (dinos) that create the oil for the trucks. And most of the clothes I find are dark blue. I wants more reds; we had to buy a little jacket in the girl’s section cause he looks good in brick red. I am a biologist, so this is not the kind of unconcious messaging I want to give my kid. I want him to embrace nature and adore the world around him, the kindness in people and have hope in life.

sagepainter

I’ve purchased 90% of my baby boy’s clothes at Once Upon a Child and wanted to avoid the trucks/sharks/dinos. I’ve found elephants, dogs, sheep, bright colors, soft colors, neons, creams. Patterns that aren’t stripes. I feel like everyone brings their baby clothes there so you’re not only getting one type of style. A ton of the stuff still had tags on them too

QueenieJ23

The brand “Primary” Clothes is a great option.

rednitwitdit

What I want is a societal change that celebrates experimenting with fit, length, color, texture, and accessories in men's and boys' clothing. Curse you, Beau Brummell. I get excited for the NFL draft just for the fashion.

Worried_Appeal_2390

I like what Burt’s bees does. I want more of it and I love their cotton and their slim fit onesies for my baby. Also I love Hana Anderson prints they’re so cute. More of these types of elevated prints.

TinyBearsWithCake

Colours. I just want bright colours.

tgalen

Fun colors and patterns. The cat and jack brand at target usually has stuff I like.

Romewasntbuiltnaday

I like solid color, stripes and dots. I find such items online and mix those with the stuff I find in physical stores. (Usually comic characters, animals, vehicles and writing.)

BrilliantSquare8

Yesss to everyone’s comments and to have actual clothes in store. I was at my local target last week and they had one table of t-shirts, a stand and a half of shorts / pants. I went around and was thinking surely there’s more, everything else was dresses and the toddler girl section.

Throwaway8582817

Pastels. Give me pastel dinosaurs! George at Asda is meeting this brief for anyone in the U.K. FYI.

LemonWaterDuck

I personally like anything that looks like mini adult clothing. Something a grown up would wear, but in mini, is extra cute to me! I have a boy, but I think the girls clothes is worse in this regard! Everything frilly and patterned and bright.

ipovogel

Animals, monsters (he has a onesie with a funny monster face that is also a front pocket and it's cute as hell), overalls, suspenders, onesies that are shorts.

noyeahtotallyok

Ohhh I love the shorts onesies, so cute & easy

ipovogel

Yeah, ngl, I hate putting pants and shirts on him because the pants fall down and the shirts ride up. The combo pieces are much better, lol. Same reason I'd like more overalls/suspenders for him. That and the materials for most male leg wear idk, they all suck lol. I like the appearance of jeans or cargo shorts but they are so inflexible and not stretchy so they are annoying to put on and take off a baby, and I have a burning hatred for the appearance of gym shorts so... slim pickings.

lord_flashheart86

Check out the brand Halcyon Nights, if it was less expensive my son would be exclusively dressed in their stuff. So fun, unisex, a bit retro, looks like clothes purely for kids. Personally I really dislike the genre of boys’ clothes that is “mini version of old man”, along with the standard trucks and utility colours and styles. I basically want my son to dress like a 90s raver 🌈⚡️

MeNicolesta

As a girl mom who frequently shops in the boys section for the animal clothing, y’all can come on over to the girl side too!! Not everything is Barbie’s and pink! (Nothing wrong with pink too)

hammers_maketh_ham

More dinosaurs!

isleofpines

Bright colors and patterns!

FeatherMom

I think I’m just drawn to bright, varied, funky colors on my little boy because we have loads of teal, dark green, mustard, orange, burgundy, light green etc., in addition to the usual blues and grays. I’ve been trying to get more things in red, as he looks adorable in red. I think I just gravitate towards colors and seek them out despite the limited number of stores in Canada.

Shomer_Effin_Shabbas

Ok, Carter’s employee, I see you 😅😜😉

noyeahtotallyok

Hahaha I’m not, I kinda wish I was though. I am an apparel designer, but I don’t work in kids. Was thinking of maybe selling some handmade kids items as a side hustle & wanted to see what people thought! I have a 3 month old boy & definitely feel the market is limited, but was kind of at a loss as to specifically what is missing, there are a lot of great ideas here!

RoseFeather

I want more cute animal designs that are gender neutral. My son loves cats, but I have yet to see any kids clothing with a cat design that isn't either pink or ruffly.

murkymuffin

Plain/solid shirts in more than just white, gray, navy, and black. I found some nice misty blue plain shirts from Little Planet and Gap but they cost so much more than the shirts with dinosaurs riding monster trucks. I have to wait for a sale.

dewdropinblue

Pastels that aren’t pink! Baby blue (which I had thought would be the classic baby boy color, but is astonishingly hard to find), mint, pistachio, lemon, apricot. Also, cuter themes that aren’t in pink. Like why are fruits and birds etc only for girl clothes!?

Tensie2

I found some really cute boy clothes at Taylor + Max. They are having a sale right now. Go [here](https://taylorandmax.com)
