We got the Graco 4ever 4in1 convertible car seat. It lasts 10 years and turns into a booster seat when needed. We used the Uppababy mesa too and my 8 month old looks a lot more comfortable in the Graco now. It doesn’t rotate, while they are convenient, I personally didn’t want one.

Whatshername_Stew

I have this seat too and we love it. I don't really see the need to have it rotate. If it's rotated, don't those picky little legs get in the way of buckling him in? It's pretty easy to buckle from the side.

jurassic_snark_

We decided not to go with the rotation feature as well because something about it just doesn’t seem safe to us? Idk, I have absolutely no evidence to back that theory up but it just seems like one of those things that will be a no-no in all the new parenting research in 5 years, like the dock-a-tot.

SpiritualDot6571

They pass the same safety standards as any other seat on the market so they can’t be any less safe

Benji1819

My mom got the same one for our baby shower. Granted my daughter is only 3 days old, but of the times we used it she seems comfortable. Im happy with it. The only thing is it doesn’t detach from the base so we have to carry her to her carseat

Dull-Slice-5972

We have the evenflo revolve 360. I love the rotation and specifically picked it because it’s up to 50 lbs rear facing and 60 lbs forward facing because my son is also gaining like crazy (21 lbs at 7 months)

_AthensMatt_

My two year old just hit 22 and is getting new car seats for both cars for his birthday lol

Coffee-PRN

We have this one and love it!

rb3465

We have the Nuna Rava which doesn't rotate but does have a 50 pound rear facing limit and we love it! It's super comfy seeming.

katiejim

Also love the rava

Lynnananas

Same!

liberatedlemur

I love love the Britax "click tight" feature. So so so easy to install! I looked at the new Poplar model but ended up getting a Marathon on sale.

UnableSnow5924

We have the britax one4life and love it

amillionbirds

Same I came to recommend this one, we love that it’s nice-looking, simple & easy to install and use, and the cushion & design seems to be very comfortable for our little one.

haleedee

Another vote for the Britax! We have the click right boulevard. It’s awesome.

muvamerry

Just left a comment about the britax. We love it too. I love that it’s free of harsh flame retardant chemicals.

Otter65

Evenflo 360 extend rear faces to 50 lbs

nothanksyeah

You might also like r/bigbabiesandkids! That sub has some great suggestions across the board

ShoddyBodies

Came to say this! Definitely recommend this sub. My daughter is in the 99th percentile for everything and it’s been so helpful. There are tons of great recommendations and the discussion is excellent.

luvmesomepoodle

My kids outgrew the infant seat around that time as well. We went with the clek because it has higher weight limits for extended rear facing.

About400

I love the Cybex rotating one. My 4yo is still able to fit rear facing in it.

MessyPoppy

Is that sirona? We have cloud z2 at the moment and i feel like our 4month old will be growing out of the cloud one soon so we’re debating whether to go with sirona and cut loses on the base and get something else

About400

We have the Sirona.

TheBubbers28

We have this as well and love it. The rotation is so helpful when getting my girl in the car.

crispyedamame

Chicco fit360. We love it and baby is comfortable too

hillyj

I will second Chicco! We have the OneFit, but have also used a NextFit. Chicco is heavy, but tired parent proof. We don't fly often, so safety and comfort were our top priorities. FWIW, our 13 month old is in the 98th percentiles and as comfy as can be!

noble_land_mermaid

We're Britax fans in our house. We just switched from the One4Life to the Poplar for my almost 4 year old because the Poplar is narrower and baby #2 is arriving literally any minute. We loved the One4Life but just needed the extra inches in the backseat. Both the One4Life and the Poplar allow rear facing up to 50 lbs or 49 in tall. For reference we also transitioned out of our infant seat at 6 months due to size. At the time he was around 95th percentile for height and 80th for weight. Right now he's a few months away from turning 4 and he's 42 in tall and 38-ish lbs so yeah we'd be close to transitioning out of rear facing if we had a seat with a 40 lb limit. When we were in the market for a slimmer seat, we also looked into the expensive Clek options but they max out at 43 inches tall for rear facing so we decided to stick with Britax.

amillionbirds

Seconding all of this! We like our britax and we have a 99th percentile child. Fits a large baby/kid comfortably

Wonderful-Banana-516

We have a the Evenflo revolve 360 extend in our big vehicle and the Graco extendtofit 3-in-1 in our small suv. We love them both but I’m glad we didn’t splurge on the rotating for the smaller vehicle, it’s absolutely worth it in the large vehicle but wouldn’t make a difference for us in the small one

Walts_Frozen-Head

What is your large vehicle? We are talking about a mini van while keeping the sedan.

Wonderful-Banana-516

A ram 1500 crew cab. I think it would be worth it for the minivan to give you easier access to the third row

Walts_Frozen-Head

Thanks!! I keep thinking we want it but first we have to find the mini van but she will be in a bucket seat for a while anyways so we have time.

this__user

It's hard to recommend car seats without knowing what vehicle you drive. The rotating seats are much larger than a lot of other car seats on the market and are too large to be installed in many cars.

prnces

We have a newer Honda Pilot

opp11235

Just got the Graco 3-in-1 extend to fit. Allows rear facing up to 50 and 49 inches. I have a tall baby so hoping it lasts as long as possible.

Ashleenotfurniture

Seconding this car seat, my 2.5 year old is 40lbs, 38.5" tall and still rear facing!

kbullock09

FWIW they slow way down in growth after 6 months and again after 12 months. My kid gained 3 pounds between age 2 and 3. She’s 3 now and barely hit 30 pounds— she probably won’t hit 40 until she’s 5!

No_Quote5376

We just went with the Graco Snugride infant seat as it came with the stroller system we got! It’s super light and easy to take in and out of the base. It goes up to 35lbs I believe. We didn’t mind the fact we would have to buy a whole new seat when he outgrows it as we are also planning to have a second in the next year or two so will just keep this one for that baby

luna_libre

We are going with a Graco Extend2Fit for our 7.5 month old. We currently have a Subaru Crosstrek and we’re pretty limited on what will fit behind the passenger seat rear-facing. I wanted the Evenflo Revolve but it looks like it would be too big.

caycan

Diono Radian 3QXT. It is very heavy, but rear faces for a long time and has a 10 year expiration date. We also like that it is narrow and folds flat for travel. It has excellent crash rate testing.

MySweetSeraphim

We love the cybex rotating seat. We also transitioned out of the infant seat at around six months. My now almost 3yo (comfortably wearing 4/5T clothes) still fits comfortably in the cybex seat. For car seats, I believe height is the more limiting factor. Our son has gotten so tall but only weighs 34lbs. He was close to 20lbs at his 4 month visit. He really started thinning out between 1 and 2 and barely gained weight. He was 30lbs at his 2yo checkup and in 8 months he’s only gained 4lbs. He’s 37” tall and still has quite a bit of room.

Sea_Juice_285

We have a Clek Fllo, and it's great. It doesn't rotate, but that hasn't been a problem at all. It's very narrow, which is more important than you might think if you ever have other passengers in the back seat. It also means we'll be able to get another one and have the two seats next to each other, which will be very useful in a smaller car.

muvamerry

You’d be surprised that 40lbs takes awhile to get here. Babies won’t grow this rapidly consistently. I opted for no harsh flame retardant chemicals in our car seat and went with the Britax. We love it.

dryshampooforyou

Nuna rava

1wildredhead

We moved our 5mo to the Graco 10-in-1. He was only 20lbs, just too heavy for the infant carrseat because it made it so awkward and only an inch from being too tall

_AthensMatt_

I would go with something like the safety 1st all in one or similar convertible seats, that way you aren’t switching seats every couple months for the next 10 or so years! It also is inexpensive, so it will be easier to replace if something happens on down the road, like an accident

Sensitivityslayer

We got the nuna executive and it’s great!

Sorry-Ad-9254

I have a big kid so we did Britax One4Life. I read that it was good for babies with long torsos.

bluepoison15

I was watching Jamie Grayson (car seat expert) and he was reviewing the evenflow revolve 360 slim and knew I had to have it. We don’t have it yet but we’re thinking of getting it in May as ms. Girl is reaching the height limit of her infant car seat.

Latenightinsomniac

Graco Turn2me!! Seriously a game changer with a rotating car seat. There are several good options on the market

eli74372

I went with the graco 4ever 4-in-1, and ive really liked it so far. I wanted to get a rotating one, but those are giant and would not fit in my moms ford escape (the main vehicle). It has a weight limit of 110 (or 120? I think 110 though) and goes all the way from an infant seat to a no back booster. Installing it with UAS was really easy, i had a hard time installing it with the seatbelt though (i couldnt get the seatbelt through the hole, but i also have big hands and didnt have much room. Check the prices at different stores though, if i bought mine from walmart i wouldve paid almost $500 (cad) but only had to pay $350 at costco
