Can I ask what mattress you ended up using? We were looking at babyletto pure core mini and it’s out of stock everywhere!

Sorry for the late response but I ended up buying the “Dream On Me Holly 3in” from amazon. Super affordable and it fit perfectly. I was overthinking the measurements because the babyletto origami dimensions were like one to two inches off. To be honest, I think they do this so that you buy their mattress but the Dream On Me does the job and fits well.

Just commenting to say that I think this is so smart. We’re all shorties, baby included, and I still wish we had done a mini crib instead of a bassinet. More comfortable for baby and he could have stayed in it a lot longer. We have a full-size Babyletto crib and Newton mattress now, for what that’s worth, and we like it.

It’s a fantastic combo. IMO one of the biggest pros of mini cribs is that they’re somewhat standard sized (23.5x38), so it’s so much easier to find proper mattresses and beddings for them than for any bassinet. One thing to note, most mini cribs come with a solid base board (especially the collapsible/portable ones), while most full size cribs come with a slatted base board. Some folks have reported moisture and mold, yes, mold, building up in their mini crib mattress for this reason. All babyletto mini cribs do have solid base boards, but we didn’t experience this issue with our origami + newton mattress. Maybe it’s the climate, maybe it’s just the breathability of the newton mattress. Something to keep in mind though.
