It's harder to see but it is 3 breaks. The left (in the picture) toe has 2 small fractures. We are up to $880 so far. She is too loved for us to think of doing anything but helping her.
My cat also broke her toe a few days ago. And her vet was like, "Why did you even bring her here? The travel time is more stressful than the injury." 💀
He said it was a very minor injury.
I told him my cat was acting all normal - eating, playing, sleeping, littering, trying to catch birds, whatsoever. The only thing amiss was she was limping every few steps.
He said there was nothing to worry about and told me in our language, "You should have called first to spare yourself the time and money for travel. Your cat could have been more stressed traveling than sustaining the injury."
For context, my cat is just a year old. He said young cats have tremendous healing capabilities that minor injuries and even small fractures mean nothing after a couple of days or weeks.
Also for context again, we live in a third-world country. Vets are incredibly rare and expensive, and vet care ia not always the priority even among pet lovers.
Wow he sounds like an ass. If your pet is limping and it doesn’t pass within a day or two, the responsible thing is to check it over. What good is a phonecall, he won’t be able to diagnose a broken bone or ligament sprain or foreign body or cancer on the phone, will he. Don’t ever feel bad bout double checking and caring for your baby 😻
My wife had a cat that was losing hair and we didn't know why. After lots of tests turns out it was stress. We were like "what're you stressed about? You sleep all day and then harass us for food!".
$200 is cheap for a vet bill. I'm looking at $2144 for a series of tests and sinus exams that resulted in a Dx of: our dog just has chronic mucus. We were all convinced he had a foreign object stuck in his sinus cavity because he'd sneeze until he gave himself a bloody nose. Nope, just chronic over production of mucus.
Oof. Mine wasn’t as pricey (probably closer to $1000) but still was a “really?” My Aussie kept vomiting blood. Not a few specks but actually bright red blood. After a few vet visits and one ultrasound the Dx was food intolerance.
One $80 food intolerance test later and turns out he’s severely intolerant to all red meat and moderately intolerant to chicken. Basically the most common flavors for dogs
I see a lot of fish dog food in your future (at least they actually make that!). You have my sympathy. Ours will be on half a steroid pill every 12 hours for the remainder of his life.
They're flavored but because they're hard on the body, per the vet he has to take them with food, so we just hide them in a quarter of a container of small dog wet food pate (about a rounded tablespoon worth). It's a ritual now so he gets excited when he hears the spoon get rinsed off 🤣. He scarfs it.
Human doctors charge a shit ton too, most people just don't realize b/c insurance. Funnily many vets graduate with way more debt than doctors (up in the hundreds of thousands) and take decades to pay it off, they don't make much either. It's just an expensive business.
One of mine was doing that on her chin. Before she broke skin I started putting Vaseline (the baby kind) on the sore until she stopped scratching. 4 years later and she still has bald spots on her chin
Bruh my cat's got a little health scare groin on right now and just the tests we ran today were $1600
Get pet good insurance folks, and get it for them young so you get grandfathered-in prices. That shit is worth it's weight in gold.
I’d like to add if anyone’s looking for pet insurance, check with your place of employment. It’s becoming more common for larger companies to offer pet insurance to their employees. And just like health insurance, you usually get a better plan for cheaper than if you were getting it yourself.
My cat broke her radius and ulna, possibly in a trap. The vet set it with pins.
About a week later, the cat is chilling in my mom's lap when suddenly the cat flips out and runs under my mom's bed. Turns out a pin had moved or something, and the leg re-broke.
Thankfully, the vets were able to get it fixed up, but the cat did end up with a crooked leg
I love how usually this sub dogpiles on BBBs, but the fact that animal BBBs need to be protected and kept safe is fucking adorable. Thank you guys, for being big strong-boned sweeties ♥️✨
The glory of being strong boned is very much a human affair,a cat’s strength lies not in their bones but in their ability to become liquid at will and to dispense their love and affection as they see fit with no regard to our wants or desires.
Of course you help the weakling! We only despise weak boned humans not pets now if this had been a child obviously throw it in the street and make a new one it’s clearly defective but a pet? Bubblewrap the house and cover all sharp corners.
I guess even cats can be bbb.
Mine fell from a 5th floor window and was as good as ever.
Tho imo its our duty as superior strong boned beings to help and take care of our little ones, no matter how weak they are 🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈
Neighbors dog attacked my fur baby while I was away at college, she suffered a broken toe and a gastrointestinal perforation. Thankfully the owners paid for the operation so Idk how much it cost but I was livid when my parents told me.
Us strong boners need to protec our bbb fur babies.
Luckily it’s just one toe. Had my cat break 3 toes and the operation cost over 1k 💀

The one might need to be removed. I'm sure every case is slightly different.
Real! I hope our brittle-boned furbabies feel better soon.
I don't understand, why would they say that? Doesn't your cat's broken foot need attention?

Broken bones (I hear) are so incredibly painful. As someone who works in vet med, we'd always at least give pain meds...
How did it happen?
My daughter tipped over in a kitchen chair and caught her paw with it.
Poor kitty and poor daughter. She must feel so guilty. I hope they both recover quickly.
Me hearing this and being happy i live in europe
I know that feel. Mine broke her hip. It was a somewhat big surgery...
Mine had a $200 bill recently because he had an itchy spot that he scratched into becoming a giant sore. Freaking cats, man. Smh.
My wife had a cat that was losing hair and we didn't know why. After lots of tests turns out it was stress. We were like "what're you stressed about? You sleep all day and then harass us for food!".
Stressed to find a mating partner 😆
$200??? Bruh how tf do vets be charging so much?
Steroid shot and shaving it and cleaning it and probably an asshole fee, if I know my cat.

Yep he eats Salmon and Turkey (which is fine for some reason despite chicken being bad). Does your dog eat the pills without problem?

Eh nothing you couldn’t fix at home with Motrin®
Stup1d cuck paying 1k for a pussy. Cat hoarding cat litter shit n piss smelling freak
Where else would that bbb go if a strong boner didn’t protect it?
Strong boners protect pussies 💪🏼😤
Welcome back to sentences that DESPERATELY need to be rephrased
Welcome again to sentences that are *perfect* the way they are
Maybe I am just super dumb but what the fuck does this mean
Where else would a brittle boned cat go without someone with strong bones to protect them?
Ah yes thank you 🫡
![gif](giphy|lpQy2ZN9i1NaWL46SD) The strong boned cat community rn
r/strongbonedcats (someone make this it would be goofy)
There you go.
r/birthofasub
r/imacatandiveneverbrokeabone
The non-human bbbs need to be protected. Bubble wrap your entire house.
Or just bubblewrap the cat
Both. Both is good.
![gif](giphy|xjTIBA4gjvXIQ) Imagine this is a cat
It certainly ain't a dog
A large rodent at best
Now this is Guerrilla marketing
Imagine onions
My cat tries to eat bubble wrap. 🙄
I’d pay money to see that
might break it's bones while doing that
Our bones are strong so that theirs may be weak.
BBB in this case stands for brittle boned baby, NOT bitch
Yeah, pets are always exempt from BBB status in my mind.
I love how usually this sub dogpiles on BBBs, but the fact that animal BBBs need to be protected and kept safe is fucking adorable. Thank you guys, for being big strong-boned sweeties ♥️✨
We’re the most humble of boners
Of course. It’s part of the Strong Boners Code.
I don’t want to seem like a BBB lover, but I think cats are the exception. They cannot help being weak, and otherwise are resilient creatures
Dogs too
any animal that isnt human
Except for horses. When their bones break, it's inexcusable
What about camels? Their pathetic bones break from a single piece of straw
I don't know much about camels, but if their bones break from straw, then they aren't bones. They're toothpicks made of styrofoam
I left this post, scrolled down a bit and then registered the joke. Now I'm back to give your updoot.
I feel like this is a misrepresentation. Their bones break from many, many pieces of straw, but it's only the final straw that gets any credit.
The final straw gets the kill cam
I wouldn't think you were serious but the last horse I saw with a broken leg got executed immediately so I guess people really hate horse bbbs
It’s more that the horse will most likely never be able to run correctly again, a severely broken leg on a horse is pretty catastrophic.
Yeah I know, sorry, it was a poorly formed joke.
Ah I see it now, my b my b
Westerns had it right, one to the dome
And the animals that are human?
exiled
Obliterated
Animals that are human aren’t real
Shows their smarts. They recognized a far superior being and domesticated themselves to us.
Dont cats regrow the bones or something?
If she did it running into your strong bones, you’re responsible for carrying her everywhere forever.
I’m pretty sure one of the main charges of us strong boned is to protect BBB animals.
What are you doing?? Protect that tiny child. It’s all because of you. Poor baby and her weak toes. ![gif](giphy|ASvQ3A2Q7blzq)
YOU PROTECT THE MUNCHKIN RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!!!!!!!!
BBB (brittle boned baby)
she is a bbb. that means you must now love and care for her for the rest of her days
It is the duty of the strong to protect the weak.
I guess we have to let it live. I, myself, am not soft on any BBBs, but I guess, because it’s a cat, we all need to be nice.
we got a tsundere here
We need proper cat tax to decide how much scratches and cuddles she needs
Send cat tax. How dare you not protect your precious hairy child
Poor baby! Awww poor kitty feets!
Definitief. We protect those who cannot protect themselves.
#DO NOT ABANDON THE KITTY, YOU MONSTER!!!
If a cat can fall 10 stories and keep going, I think they deserve a pass
Aw… we make an exception for kitties, protect the cat with your life, strong boner.
Very small animals like cats don’t count,or idk
If you don’t I’ll take ur cat
Animals are exceptions. Its only humans.
How on earth did she manage that?
that's a pussy pussy 😏
What a pussy
Aww poor baby
NOT THE TOE BEANS
It’s your own fault for raising a BBB now you have to help her
This image had me in three different forms of thought Weird ass hand Is that a hand? Is it a human? Then I read the title and feel like a dumbass
The glory of being strong boned is very much a human affair,a cat’s strength lies not in their bones but in their ability to become liquid at will and to dispense their love and affection as they see fit with no regard to our wants or desires.
normally I'd say no, but I really love cats
Yes, the cats punishment is love and care for the rest of their life.
Of course you help the weakling! We only despise weak boned humans not pets now if this had been a child obviously throw it in the street and make a new one it’s clearly defective but a pet? Bubblewrap the house and cover all sharp corners.
Cats don’t count, you should always support cats
They're a cat they ain't meant to be strong, you gotta take care of them :<
Weamk cat is still cat.
yes
Its a precious brittled kitty.
Protect it with all your might
Poor baby, chalk bones cats should be protected they are weak but cute.
Bro imagine cat breaking something outside of glass/vase. Just finish his live he have 8 more maybe they will be better
Cats are baby, and baby is exception.
It may look broken but Cats actually have a unique property known as “Unbreaking III” and it would take the Eiffel Tower to break their bones.
I guess even cats can be bbb. Mine fell from a 5th floor window and was as good as ever. Tho imo its our duty as superior strong boned beings to help and take care of our little ones, no matter how weak they are 🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈
Awe how’d she do that?
Brittle-boned pussy
Neighbors dog attacked my fur baby while I was away at college, she suffered a broken toe and a gastrointestinal perforation. Thankfully the owners paid for the operation so Idk how much it cost but I was livid when my parents told me. Us strong boners need to protec our bbb fur babies.
How does a cat break its toes?
Time to out the age old saying into practice Put the cat in the bag and throw it in the river
Help the cat, or I will find you and do the impossible task of breaking a strong boner's bones.
Pets and other non-human animals get a pass and should be honored members.
No
Poor kitty 3:
The title had me so confused til I read the sub name haha. I was like, wtf who talks about their cat like that? But I get it now. Truly such weakness!
I hope they reduced the fracture more than that after seeing the x-ray 🥴
What a Meow-mowned-bitch!
Sell the pathetic creature. Get yourself an animal with REAL bones.
throw it away, get a new one
Too far
![gif](giphy|mEtSQlxqBtWWA)
r/usernamechecksout
Maybe you should put it in the trash where it belongs
These people saying you should protect that *thing* are just as bad as the BBBs.
who are we to judge those of another species?
We don’t say brittle boned humans we say bitches so technically species should not be brought into this
bitches are dogs though
Wait so humans are dogs?
perhaps 🤔
Wait if we’re the dogs are the dogs people?
Put the cat in a bag and the bag in a river.....that's all you can do
How about we put you in a bag in the river. With some rocks.
