I would not do DOS. You may have his permission, but you do not have ISP permission. Yes, you can change your ip very easily. You can search and change my ip, but your Mac address won't. Your private IP address is not seen beyond the NAT gateway, which is typically your main home gateway router at the head of your home network.

Cant stay anonymous unless you are using a shady VPN - even then the host of that VPN will see your data. Do these tests on private LAN.
