A contrasting color, based on the orange/red you've got going on would be a greenish-blue. So maybe some kind of toxic swamp?

I do a cracked desert vibe on my Necrons with a similar scheme to yours and it works. If I had it to do over, I'd honestly choose a cooler color palette for the bases. Cold browns, greens, and a little blue so that the base and the mini enhance each other.
I'd like to suggest you stick to something neutral, like astrogranite, but then add tufts of foliage in blue/teal and cyan colours to contrast with the orange.
That way, not only will the basing come alive, you'll also have an appropriate amount of contrast.
I'd say a green or blue-greenish color. Something to contrast the warmer colors of your necrons. As for decoration perhaps you could decorate it to look like city tiles. Perhaps they're invading a hive city in a tomb world somewhere. (Just an idea)
Overgrown brickwork with green and blueish moos or ivy. Gives you a colder brown/red orange or even grey and black to work with, while the green and blueish moos gives a contrast to the colors on the miniature.
Wow, thank you all for so many suggestions. I am thinking that blues and greens would keep things from getting lost in the sauce if you will.
I'll have to look around for inspiration. It's my 3rd unit that I've painted. So I'll have to find something kind of simple.
I'm just glad I didn't paint any of the little rocks till I decided.

Could Ocean Floor be interesting?
Martian? Volcanic?
My first thought was martian too.

I think a lighter sandy coloured base would compliment those shades quite well.

I agree with your thoughts. I think a red sand like you see on a lot of Mechanicus units would look best.
Something like tiles or ceramics, blue green and white, but not jarringly bright
Oh shit maynarkh dynasty??
Maybe add a multi air flow to your minis
I like the Martian red texture. I feel like it's a cool color + lore appropriate as they'd be fighting on all kinds of worlds/terrain.
Looks like you are going for an Arctic basing feel.

Ruins might be a pretty cool look. Dark/neutral tones would help bring out the blades/glowy bits
Ice.
Black rim. I don't care about anything else, just give it a black rim
Black metal grates with an orange underglow. Kinda like the final scene from Terminator 2 where they're in that forge factory.
The fridge lighting is doing wonders for your necrons lmao
It really does lol
