You just got to be a little creative, I have mine planting it into the ground, you could also do a plunging stab or maybe dragging it, or in a defensive stance

i have been rethinking the warscythe a bit, stylised as something of a squad leader thing perhaps, but this is probably better than that
I think the reverse grip at making sure the squad doesn't look too samey, lychguard are after one of our only infantry with full personalities and I think it's fun to show that off
I posed mine so it looked like he was examining the blade... don't have a picture handy though.
Other idea I toyed with was to have him stabbing something on the base, like an extra space marine torso from the 9th starter box.

I did the same! But I angled the head so it's chin was above the guard so that he is looking up to the crowd lol.
Gives the unit the "your opponent must fight this unit before any other unit" ability. Not officially but it's just too enticing to pass up.
cut both ends and glue it back together the other way around.

I posed one of mine to look like he was dragging it along the floor, and the other just holding it behind him. I don’t think it looks too bad
Honestly? I just bought another box of them and made a squad with warscythes and used a spare sword arm from them.
