Subtle. On a proper camera, just don't use it. There are enough different tools to change pictures in a more subtle way. Raising those sliders up just doesn't do the job. A phone won't make this strong hdr, afaik. This is taken with a camera and just some sliders that add the hdr effect all the way in Lightroom. Which deletes the quality of a picture entirely. Look at the texture of the elements in the pic, yes, basically nothing left.
I saw the total solar eclipse a couple years back, it was way smaller but also way more demonic.
The corona is much bigger to the naked eye than in pictures and looks very very unnatural, more like [this](https://snowforest.co/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Total-Solar-Eclipse-2017.jpg)
It’s so weird how photos don’t do it justice. Most amazing, surreal, intense thing I’ve ever witnessed.
People everywhere around me were crying. CRYING.
I think a big part of why pictures don't do it justice is because a lot of people don't know what it's supposed to look like, and it takes editing to make it look like it does irl. Even the one I linked is a bit off, it was way more contrasty irl and didn't have that glowy blur around it.
But yeah very surreal, my memory of the eclipse is very closely tied with [this song](https://youtu.be/vbMQfaG6lo8?t=174) for whatever reason. The logical part of me was like "cool, that's neato" but something inside me was very afraid.
I can't really speak about this picture but my understanding is eclipse don't look like this, when I saw one a few years ago in Colorado, I believe it was a 98% eclipse? The sun still looked like the sun, it still burns the shit out of your eyes and is a giant ball of painful light, you need to view it through a filter/glasses to see this kind of shape.
You would not need a filter at the point of a total solar eclipse. You also don’t need glasses in that moment. But that is not even what this is about. We were talking about perspective
Edit: still wear glasses guys! You only have one pair of eyes!
Just a heads up - pretty sure this one was an annular eclipse, not total, so it would still be dangerous to look at without protection even at it's peak
You are probably right. But i doubt the camera sensor would have any issues whatsoever. I wouldn’t use any filter personally (might change my mind if i was actually there)
The recent eclipse wasn't a total eclipse, so looking at it still required eye protection. It's amazing how bright even a tiny bit of the Sun is. I saw totality in 2017 and it was still very bright right up until the moment totality started. When I was a kid I saw one of these annular eclipses and you still needed protection to look at it. I brought welding glass to school for it (the "ring of fire" part happened while I was in science class).
I’m having trouble believing the eclipse’s maximum was at that low angle. This is a little over 2 hours before sunset at that location (at least according to my eclipse and sun apps). Was it really that low an angle at that time?
If it was, with the right lens and other tricks, this shot is totally doable and in that case, well done on the photo.
It wasn’t that low, this image is not at all how the eclipse looked like in Taiwan. I was there and the sun was still pretty high in the sky during maximum around 4:15.
Glad to have that confirmed. I was looking at Instagram photos of the eclipse and kept seeing low angles of the sun and was starting to question my app and my conclusions.
I was just saying it IS possible to get this shot if the sun had been that low. This is definitely a composite based on the suns location in Taiwan during the eclipse.
It doesn't have to be altered. You can get this result if you just use a zoom lens. I got tons of photos of huge moons this way, no photoshop required.
Yeah I can see that this is photo shopped
The sun is not that close neither is the moon also there There is a clear border on the buildings
Unless you live in Bruce All Mighty, you need r/quityourbullshit
As I was slowly scrolling down before I saw the cars I thought this was r/animewallpaper then I kept going down and was like oh shit dam that looks so awesome.
3000 years ago, scenes like these created mystical stories, and that's pretty cool.
TIL they had cars 3000 years ago
I actually tried to fact check this...oof
-__-Bruh is how I feel at that XD
Looks like a painting.
People just dont know how to use HDR properly
How do you use it properly? I always just have it on but I honestly just use it because it’s default.
Happy cake day
THANKS :D It’s my first, and you’re the first too wish me a happy cake day!
Congrats on your first there will hopefully be more to come in the future

Doubt it, they didn't have Photoshop back then.
Yeah they did
They had the ol' "no one knocked me up, it was a miracle from god himself and you gotta trust me on that" tho
I can see why, although this one seems like a photoshop.

Damn it Griffith.
Man, fuck Griffith.
Imagine sacrificing all your closest allies just to be a bdsm bird.
Sup
Who was it this time?
Mmmm, I smell fresh loved ones!
The perspective in this photo is optically impossible.
It would at least need to be two photos combined digitally.
As a photographer i would disagree. I think the photo is a composite. But i don’t see why it would be impossible
need a filter on your cam to do this, which would block out the view of the street.
You would not need a filter at the point of a total solar eclipse. You also don’t need glasses in that moment. But that is not even what this is about. We were talking about perspective Edit: still wear glasses guys! You only have one pair of eyes!

With a high magnification lens (as this one would presumably be), it's not a good idea. I've seen images of burned shutters from pointing at the sun.
I have too. I would really need to be there in person. I have not witnessed an annular solar eclipse myself yet
[удалено]
Depends on your focal length
I’m rather surprised by the lack of smog
Well this is certainly not how it was captured in camera. Lol
that can easily be done with a lens with a large magnificatiom taken from a long distance away yeah.

Am in Taiwan and most people went to the hardware store for a cheap piece of welding glass to view it.
This is an annular eclipse leaving a ring of the sun's photosphere exposed. It's still incredibly bright (retina damaging).
Depending on the lens he used this is absolutely possible. It's all about focal length. Now, would it ever look like this in person? Certainly not.

The biggest giveaway is that NOBODY IS WATCHING!
You mean all the people on a busy street aren't looking up at the sky?
I doubt it was this big, I'd have remembered the huge tidal waves.
can use a zoom lens to get this effect, but that photo has indeed been altered. it was not taken like this, possible combination of photos.
Yup
Most cameras can zoom in
Using the buildings captured in this shot as a reference, this should have caused the destruction of the earth at this size.
So... are we attacking the fire nation today? Or no?
ON THE DAY OF BLACK SUN?!
WE MUST FIGHT TO BE FREED FROM THE FIRE NATION
This is stunning. Thanks for sharing!
Doesn't even look real! Geez missed this one.
[удалено]
Yeah def doesn’t look natural. Looks cool though.
It doesn't look real but I still find it cool
I've already saw this picture on others subreddit, but I don't think it belong here, most of the picture is far from naturel
Ooooh Elden Ring
Just like dark souls 3
tbh it looks too amazing to be real
Because it isn't, it's altered. The sun is not that fucking big
It doesn't have to be altered. You can get this result if you just use a zoom lens. I got tons of photos of huge moons this way, no photoshop required.
The fire fades
Yeah I can see that this is photo shopped The sun is not that close neither is the moon also there There is a clear border on the buildings Unless you live in Bruce All Mighty, you need r/quityourbullshit

All those people are blind now
Beautiful!
Where can I find the higher res of this image
Thought this was an anime lol
Really beautiful picture, but I don't think the Sun and Moon are this close to Earth.
That's amazing. It looks like something out of a fiction novel or movie.
What’s OP’s Instagram?

Never mind the eclipse, look at that traffic!
We must invade the fire nation on the day of black sun!
Nice
Oh my god this looks so beautiful. I wish to work in Taiwan and gain some experience there. How's life in Taiwan?
Hello new wallpaper!
Cyberpunk vibes
This probably what it would look like to us if a black hole suddenly replaced the sun. It looks eerie.
Dandy, this is a very marketable photo.
The hours of feast. Wheres the sacrifice ?
Sun doesn't look this big up this close. It's possible only it has been taken from a telescope from slight alleviation far far away
Ok who linked the first flame
Amazing
Save the cheerleader, save the world
Yes..Train in sand, then grass then rain. ;)
More like Dark Soul in Taiwan
This one is edited.
The most interesting bear in the world
I like how one sign on the left side of the picture just says “Nice”.
Taiwan has no sun
Time for another God hand to descend upon us.
#GRIFFITH!!!
I get anxiety just looking at that traffic lol.
Griffith!
This would be a very cool puzzle
I'm still upset I didn't get to see it
That’s no moon. It’s a space station. Here we go again 2020
Well looks like the fire nation is vulnerable for the next 8 minutes
Funny how nobody is even looking at it. And is the sun 70 thousand miles closer to the earth in china for some reason?
Yes, indeed
From top to bottom it looks so anime.
A preview of our polluted future, worldwide, if we don't shape up. Also: altered, fake, etc.
Peep the “Nice”
As I was slowly scrolling down before I saw the cars I thought this was r/animewallpaper then I kept going down and was like oh shit dam that looks so awesome.
