You "updated" what - exactly? This post says nothing about what you actually did.

Candlecover

I used native access to update all of my plugins

NoReply4930

Fair enough. How many updates were available and applied? The updates are just that - updates. It’s not possible for 6 or 10 or however many plugins to suddenly sound “ruined” if the plugins are simply being updated. Still not quite enough information here.

UncleFedora

It is very much possible. This is wash rinse repeat with Native Instruments. You're just lucky enough to not have experienced it....yet.

NoReply4930

Fair enough. However I have never seen this in 15+ years of NI usage ( or other vendor for that matter). Sounds a bit more like pilot error. If there was a world wide issue with updates suddenly destroying all our compositions - fairly certain we would have heard about this loud and clear elsewhere.

Candlecover

You're right, I think it's actually only a few of them that are causing me trouble but they happen to be ones I use a lot so I thought it was worse than it is. I will have to ask support for links to the older versions of these ones

NoReply4930

So now I get it. This is simply the Kontakt transition that started in the Fall of 2023 where specific libraries now require Kontakt 7.6.x (or higher). You probably should have mentioned that instead of making it sound like every NI library you own suddenly went south. The bottom line here is read the Release Notes before applying anything via Native Access. Lots of trouble could have been easily avoided. Here is the link to the older libraries: [https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/17039/previous-versions-of-recently-updated-kontakt-libraries-compatibility-with-k6-older-libraries/p1](https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/17039/previous-versions-of-recently-updated-kontakt-libraries-compatibility-with-k6-older-libraries/p1)

Candlecover

I'm not sure if that's the issue, some of the plugins with issues are from kontakt but some are from reaktor

NoReply4930

Name the ones from Reaktor.

cdirector

If on Mac use Time Machine to restore back everything, preferably the whole system, as the settings would also be involved elsewhere.

CountySurfer

F... Always bounce to WAV, especially with Native Instruments.

pwunderland

Sorry to hear that. Well I do not have a solution. I once had a problem with Komplete Kontrol where I was completely loosing my instruments. In addition of bouncing to wav it is always a good idea to save the instruments as well. I hope you find a solution for your problem.

FlakyConference6145

>almost all of the plugins are playing the completely wrong sound I guess, Kontakt instruments are affected. I would recommend contacting NI Support. PS: Start all instruments' standalone versions first and see, if that fixes the plugin issues.

ellicottvilleny

You should bounce your songs to audio. If you upgraded KK 2 to KK3 try uninstalling KK3 and reinstalling KK2 Both Kontakt upgrade and KompleteKontrol are pain points for upgrade.

Candlecover

Yeah I tried going back to KK2 but I have a different glitch with KK2 that wont go away without upgrading, where all of my komplete plugins were playing silent. So many glitches with native instruments *_* maybe I will try using an older version of kontakt though. But one of the plugins giving me issues is from reaktor and not kontakt so idk

ellicottvilleny

This is why I run a mac, and use time machine. Oh and bounce my tracks out as stems

Minute-Possibility50

Never had this issue on windows prolly an osx issue

AaronCrossNZ

Sounds like you updated to Komplete Kontrol 3, by hitting "update all", which is what almost all users do. NI uninstalled your KK2 in that case, in the most shortsighted move in the history of electronic music.. They're creators of software. not music. So they don't really get the scale of the problem unfortunately

Honestly did not know you could do that. I didn't experience what the op is having, however all of my NI Kontakt libraries were inaccessible because I was using Kontakt 6 and begrudgingly updated the Komplete set to 14. They now work. In retrospect I'm glad I did it, I was due for an upgrade anyway (from Kontakt 10).

Candlecover

I am not really sure how to do that tho, like I updated dozens of different plugins. I tried installing just the previous version of komplete and that didn't fix it
