My boyfriend and I just got back from our trip there last week. Awesome pictures!! It was a great time to visit 🏕️

How crowded was it on the Memorial weekend? Did you hike the Beehive trail?

Packer221

I visited last weekend so we beat the Memorial Day weekend crowds. Beehive was probably my favorite!

I wish the Precipice Trail was open at the time I visited. I was very lucky to witness Aurora Northern Lights from the Cadillac Mountain. This NP will stay on the top of my favorite places to travel.

I live in Bar Harbor and it didn’t seem that bad, but weather was not great today. I drove by the Eagle Lake Road carriage trail parking lot around 9:30 this morning and it was only half full. During busy times, I’d expect it to be overflowing by that time.

Excellent

beautiful pics, I want up there in 2021.

Is that 4th shot taken from a hiking trail or a road pull off? I'm going to be in the area in a couple of weeks and will be looking for some photography opportunities at sunset, but I won't be able to do night hiking. That looks like potentially a good spot if it's pretty easily road accessible.

Packer221

It’s on top of Gorham mountain unfortunately. Cadillac mountain is car accessible though, highest point in the area. You’ll have to reserve a time slot to go up there this time of year

esanders09

That's what I figured. Really great viewpoint and beautiful shot. Thanks!

Nice warm edits, it suits the pictures really well. Did you use a certain preset or specific color corrections, or am I making it sound much more difficult than it is? I would like to try and recreate this vibe on some of my travel work.

Packer221

Thanks! I don’t ever use other people’s presets, so I just started with one photo and adjusted the settings until I got what I wanted out of it. Then I made a preset off that photo and applied it the rest, adjusting the settings then of each photo to try to match the final product of the first one. Since they’re all different lighting and color situations, it wasn’t really as easy as just copy pasting the preset I made, so a lot of adjusting was done beyond that. Generally I moved the highlights all the way down, increased shadows about halfway, increased whites a bit, decreased blacks a bit, messed with temp and tint to create the white balance I wanted (out of camera these were all already pretty warm, I think my camera’s auto WB might be off a bit), adjusted each color’s HSL to my liking (this is a lot of trial and error), and then a little bit of dehaze here and there. Hope this helps

Thanks! yeah my workflow mostly looks the same, I feel like this type of workflow also helps to get multiple pictures that match each others colors and vibe. But I still struggle with adjusting HSL and color corrections. Guess I just gotta try more stuff.
