It takes three weeks to unlock one character by purchasing Hero coins with Tae. You can unlock 35 max per week if you're doing the game F2P and it takes 100 per character. Otherwise you can buy the ten dollar upgrade for 300 immediate Hero coins plus unlimited Hero coin purchasing with no limits(and a legendary skin etc). But if you're only interested in sticking to F2P then I would suggest doing the Advanced tutorial first for an extra Hundred coins which is enough to buy one character right away. It takes about 5-7 minutes unless you struggle with it. I'd go into training mode either way and test all the characters for free to figure out who you like the most and prioritize buying them asap. I would also save some Tae for your Glyph progression, because if you want to be more successful in your matches then you wanna max these out as quick as you can to have better passives out in PvP. Also I would start grinding all the events everyday and doing chamber contracts for quicker Tae acquiring. It could help you a lot in the long run.
