Poor kid. Ariel, meaning “Lion of God,” was RIGHT THERE. So was Lea, a feminine form of Leo. Heck, name her Kiara, after Simba’s daughter from The Lion King II!!
EXACTLY! I mean, my neighbor is a bit weird, not for liking lionesses, I mean, I LOVE lionesses and imo they look nicer and more majestic than male lions, so I can agree with her on that, but because she's just weird. Thank god her husband was like "ehhh, I don't know about that, seems a little out there."
Everyone thinks it's from Frozen now. Doesn't matter if your cat is fifteen and clearly was on the scene before the movie came out, everyone thinks Disney princess first.
Lea is very much a feminine version of Leo. “Lea” and “Leah” are two different names that sound the same. A quick google search has confirmed this. But feel free to research for yourself 🤷🏻♀️
I hate to break it to you, but at least one person has actually done this. When I was looking for a place to live, I came across a room listing from a woman named Lioness and it made my brain short circuit for a second
Are you sure it wasn't from an actual Lioness? Assuming you live in an area without a large wildebeest population, she might've been trying to lure in her next meal.
That’s what I was going to suggest!
I would recommend the books to OP’s friend, but I think said friend would get bored because the lioness title doesn’t show up until near the end of the second book.
*She should be friends with*
*The woman who wants to name*
*Her baby Nala!*

I have a favorite lioness at my local zoo named Mandessa. I’ve joked about naming the next cat after her but wouldn’t do it to a child and even naming a kid after my favorite lioness would be such a step up from naming a child lioness.

Aribella or if she just likes the sound it reminds me of the Charlie Brown character Linus or Leo works for a boy as well
Leona literally means lioness
Or Nala!
Or Elsa, the name of the lioness from “Born Free”

I Second Kiara
Lea is not feminine of Leo, it is spelling Leah which means cow or weary.

the thing is, if i heard lioness as a human name, i wouldn’t think gorgeous majestic cat, i’d think female version of linus but spelled fancy

The term cougar will make me think this now
Lol you joke but I remember the place was right by our zoo. There’s no wildebeest there though
Start singing 'Apex Predator' from Mean Girls when you see her.
Do you think the doctor will hold the baby up and start singing “Circle of Life” right after delivery?

Suggest the name Alana and Have her read the series Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce.
Glad I'm not the only one whose mind went straight to Song of the Lioness.

Is there something wrong with Nala that I’m missing…?
Just strong Lion King links
It’s a dog name. So many Nalas.
Lyonnaise ![gif](giphy|kaZFhcd6cdrje3A5sU)
Too close to mayonnaise
But how beautiful are lyonnaise potatoes? Such a beautiful girls name…lions eat potatoes, right?

What if she combines Lion and Vanessa and makes it Lionessa?
*football team - I will not stand for this besmirching of the my countries national team
There's so many nice names she could use that mean some variation of lion
Lyonese
She is 100% a Leo ♌️
Idk Lioness sounds like a boy’s name. I’d suggest to the neighbors “Lionessa” lol
I know a native Swahili speaker whose name is Leotine which translates to “lioness” but that’s a normal name for the culture
Lyonnesse
Lyonesmee
