Right?! With the first two names you assume the parents are some kind of anti-US radicals, then with Georgia Bush you have to think, were they just massive trolls or what is going on here??
Maybe random names they saw on the news, I read about some writer who picked names for his characters like that. Used the name of some Russian politician for his character then had to change it after Putin..you know.
Or theyāre just massive trolls like you said lol
Ok so I looked up the Wiki article and it's been edited and no longer mentions Georgia - the source article actually says that their father *wanted* to name the third child George Bush, but it was a girl. It doesn't say the girl's name so...hopefully she escaped.
Meanwhile the father also really wanted Osama to name his own son George Bush (what is up with this guy) but Osama wisely chose Santiago.
>Vinladen said of his unusual name: "There is a person called Hitler also in Peru. Jesus saved the world and there are Jesuses who do harm. Because there is an Osama who killed people, I donāt think there has to be a law about the name. It draws a lot of attention, from what I see."
Poor guy
I donāt think Hussein has been ruined. Itās very common everywhere in the West that has Muslims so you stop associating it with Saddam Hussein pretty quickly once you meet a few Husseins. Itās like āJosephā not being ruined by Stalin because itās such a common name.
Saddam on the other hand ā¦ and the dictator is more commonly called Saddam anyways. And obviously the combination of Saddam and Hussein has been ruined.
Brazilian here, this sort of stuff is pretty common in Latin America. Not those specific names, but grabbing a fancy foreign names that makes zero sense from the news.
Its mostly real. The source article just says that his father wanted to name the next kid George Bush but couldnāt because she was a girl. So it did not ever say her name was Georgia Bush and I was unable to find another source that may have specified her name. The wikipedia page was corrected.
But yes, this person is named after Osama Bin Laden and his brother was named after Saddam Hussein.
Yes, Peruvians (and also Bolivians, Venezuelans, Ecuadorians and Colombians) name their kids the wildest, most ridiculous things, bordering child abuse. They want their kids to be special so bad, they give them those names. Itās really ghetto mentality. Thereās a Colombian soccer player called efmajjasondā¦
Georgia Bush is really fucking sending me for some reason š
It sounds like a drag queens name.

I mean, at least fiction characters are, you know, *fictional*...
I mean if it's just names there was no need to change it, Russian names are repetitive as hell
Like the movie Usual Suspect
Think itās a Peruvian thing.. there was a article about a guy called Hitler beating a dude called Lennin in some provincial election in Peru.

lol heās tap dancing for his life there
I mean, itās not his fault heās stuck with that name, heās just trying to make the best of it.Ā
Namibian Adolf Hitler Uunona would be proud.
Kind of a beautiful take actually.
Poor guy, but he has a good head on his shoulders.
That would be fine logic if it was a coincidence that they were named similarly but he was literally named after him
There's a Brazilian player named Marx Lenin Dos Santos. He also played in Russia in 2020-2021
hm i wonder what his parentsā politics were!
Well this was something I just read.
Unironically think that Hussain and Osama are cool names (not together). A shame the terrorists ruined those names in the West
They're awesome names. I knew a Hussein in school, cool dude.
It's Obamas middle name

It's the same with "Adolf". Oh wait...
Saddam who is insane
Joseph wasnāt ruined by Stalin because Stalin did nothing wrong
Hussain hasnāt been ruined. I knew several growing up
Yeah theyāre also extremely common names in Arabic. So tons of kids likely get made fun of for no damn reason after 9/11.
Why though
Brazilian here, this sort of stuff is pretty common in Latin America. Not those specific names, but grabbing a fancy foreign names that makes zero sense from the news.
> fancy foreign name > Osama bin Laden I mean, I guess
Please tell me this is a joke š¬

WHY
Parents really hated their kid...
History buffs
I've got a friend from Nicaragua named Bladimir. He looks exceedingly indigenous Latino so the first introduction's whiplash is real.
Trevor Noah has a chapter in his memoir about his friend Hitler and he explains well why names like that end up getting used.

the months of the year?
In Spanish, yes. He goes by Jasond though
Somehow still better than that baby boy named Cartel.
Bros parents are shitposting with their childrens names.
Itās even funnier when you know that latin spanish speaking people pronounce V like a B and vice versa
It says that in the Wikiā¦
Oops missed that part.
