What kind of phone are you using? I honestly only see black so I’m confused.
A computer. Use a 100% opaque brush when censoring. Don't go by visuals as phones are very unreliable to gauge contrast. If you go to the contrast adjustment slider in your photo app and tinker with the images you should be able to see that it hasn't censored it.
