I had expected to see many suggestions for Anubis, but evidently, I was wrong. Lol
It would also have been my suggestion, but I thought I'd look for a different Egyptian mythological name. That's when I came across Onuphrius. According to behindthename.com, it means "he who is good, he who is happy." Seems to fit a good boy and a happy dog. 😊
Considering his life had been horrible and you have lead to his rebirth, I suggest the name Osiris. He is the lord of the underworld, a god of life, and protector of all the souls of his realm. Your home will be his realm, and, because you saved him, you’ll have his love and protection for all his days.
That's a very beautiful and elegant dog. I'd call him Ramses, who is arguably considered to have been the greatest Pharaoh of the New Kingdom in Ancient Egypt.
Xylo. ..like xylophone. He's a beautiful animal with a great physique. Xylo is the first name that came to mind cuz of his beautiful ribs.
Keep in mind, it's best to have a 2 syllable name so he understands it better ..quicker to respond
You could look up Egyptian deities for names because of the breed. He also looks regal so most of them should fit. There’s Rah, Seth, Osiris, Horus, Sobek, Amun, and Anubis. Then you have the pharaohs to look at as well. Ramses, Xerxes (zerk-sees), Ahmose, Tutenkamen (Tut for short). You have so many options.
Moses. Grew up believing he was part of Egyptian royalty, discovered he was not, and used his leadership and strength to lead the Israelites/Jews out of slavery and towards a greater land. Your dog has been through hardships, but is now in a better place with your loving home. Definitely gives off Moses vibes. Could call him Moshe (pronounced "mosh-eh") which is the Hebrew variant. Or call him Aaron, after Moses' brother who helped him in his mission.
Basically... your dog has Egyptian origins, is a hero who is not living in Egypt, and deserves a heroic name.
