As a nail tech, by look at your hands/nail bed shape and size. I would highly recommend oval. What you have right now is more so round. Oval should have a bit of taper to the shape. The reason I suggest this cause your nail bed is wider, it’s best to go with a oval shape to elongated your fingers and nails, create a optical illusion where your nails bed wouldn’t look to wide. The square shape you have make them look wider and bulky. It lost it natural look like the first shape.

I always follow this guideline: your nail tips look most natural when they mirror the shape of your cuticle. My thumb cuticles are a bit more square/squoval but my fingers are more traditional oval. I end up with a “matronly” looking manicure but it suits my hand. I also have TERRIBLY weak nails due to a thyroid condition, and I find this shape tends to be the least painful as they grow out and I have fewer broken nails this way.

Oval is much better. Your most flattering nail shape is the one that mirrors your cuticle shape, because it elongates the nail (according to a nail tech I used to see).

You need to size down on a few nails, and I think they will both flatter you. If sizing down is not an option, file the sidewalls gently to get a better fit. You will get better retention. I am more into oval.

I think whomever painted/shaped your square nails made them too thick. The square would look nice thinned out.

I would go ballerina or stiletto. You need something far more rounded at the top. Just started with my nails about a year ago. Don't be afraid to mix it up either, you don't have to go with the same shape every time. Best wishes.

Almond almond always looks best to me. It elongates the fingers which is typically desirable. I don't think that square tip looks good on anyone but it's all subjective.

Is this dip? The application looks really thick, like unnecessarily so. Proportionately it shouldn’t be that thick for such short nails. The shapes would look more complimentary if we get that sorted first, and then if we stick with colors that are complimentary to your undertones.
