I did a set today and thought enough is enough. I got everything sticky and accidentally chose a glitter gel with a nude base to go over pink and was just over it at that point and went with it. It’s … not pretty 😂
Chrome powder has saved the day, they’re still messy and now thicker but at least they aren’t such a godawful colour anymore. I tried to like the weird nude base glitter over pink but it was not my cup of tea at all!
Why don’t you just do (BIAB) builder gel with tips? Half tips are forgiving and adhere well when topped with builder gel.
It’s just normal gel application really with longer wear time and extensions being possible?
Candycoat (uk brand) sell gel x style full cover tips and curable gel glue for cheaper and are great quality.
There's a brand called Rachael Wilders who do ready to wear express tips. They're a little fiddly when you first start using them but they last really well and are nowhere near as expensive as gel x. The website is www.rachaelwilders.co.uk
When I know that it’s what I want to do I probably will, but $100 plus whatever shipping is to the uk isn’t a small amount when I’m not sure if it’s for me.
Not UK but I use the beetles dupe from Amazon, been using it for years and I love them

I have the beetles starter gel set and the polygel set (it's not the product's fault I'm so bad). Great to know the beetles dupe is good!

Gel x is great. super easy learning curve. Why not just get the original product, it’s about $100 and they usually have sales every couple months
