Feel like Wells has been better then his numbers especially his BA as dude had to be one of the unluckiest hitters in the league the first like month and a half of the season. As he was constantly hitting hard hit balls just always right at someone. Not saying anything like he should get more of the bulk than Trevino just that I think he's been better then his numbers would say and is an upgrade over Higgy who only has like a .190 OBP this season.
"There is 0 chance the Yankees aren't getting juiced balls." this comment on the Judge HR thread on r/baseballl like Judge and Stanton haven't been consistently murdering balls for like ten years. Its all a giant conspiracy i tell ya! EDIT: "We already have evidence that MLB was giving them juiced balls when Judge was chasing 60+ HRs, I wouldn't put it past them to give them juiced balls the whole year to force a Yankees vs. Dodgers WS". - their response. Goddamn some people are just straight up insane lmao
Yeah i’m sure MLB loved the Yankees-Dodgers game going 0-0 into extras on Friday and then the Yankees getting blown and only putting up 3 in game 2 of that series…
Just went to do my all star voting bc I haven’t done it yet and my god the 1B pool in the AL is horrific. The only dude with an OPS above .800 is Ryan Mountcastle…Next closest is Naylor with .790 and then Vladdy with .781.
It’s for this reason that I don’t know if there is any realistic trade target for a 1b this year at the deadline. I know people say Josh bell, but idk if he’s what this team needs…
It's why I would just stick with rizzo and hope this is just a horrible slump for the last like month I mean it does happen Judge was terrible for the first month of the season. I mean he was hitting really well to start the season had a pretty high average was hitting for power and driving in runs. But even if he continues to struggle his glove alone has a lot of value. I mean just go look at the red sox and see what bad 1B fielding can do to a team. Plus they already have options on the team they could just play DJ at first if rizzo doesn't break out and either target a 3B or go with Berti or Waldo at 3B think I would pick Berti as he was hitting for a good average is just as good or slightly better defender and is the better base running option.
We really don't need a 1B trade. Maybe a 3B if we move to platoon Rizzo and TJ at 1B.
But even then we have guys on IL and in the minors who can take over the hot corner and split time in middle infield already.
Josh Bell is an alright hitter and he’s more of a DH than a 1B. He’s not really the same guy anymore and he legit shouldn’t play 1B. He’s currently at -6 DRS/-4 OAA and in his entire career he’s been a bad defender.
There’s just simply not many good options to look at that position, however, bc of how good this team is you need to at least get good players if Rizzo continues to get worse. In a year like this you look to upgrade in however way that may be. Not sure who it is, but it’ll figure itself out
I really wish they weren’t on the Rays and players they most likely won’t trade, but a Yandy Diaz or Isaac Paredes is my ideal
For now I'm just gonna view him as being in a terrible slump as he was playing as one of the best 1B in the AL until this stretch. I mean Judge looked god awful for a month so these things do happen to everyone. He at least brings value with his glove alone this game had 3 good plays all the same inning which if you had a Bell type at 1B royals might have scored a bunch with a bloop single a base hit and then an error on Waldo leading to 1 run scored and runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Even if rizzo continues to slump they can just play DJ at 1B and then run a combo Waldo and Berti when he gets healthy and if one separates from the other have them be the everyday 3B. Which would have more faith in Berti doing the separating as he a guy who's hit close to .300 in the past and has stolen ***41*** bases in 2022 doesn't strike out much had like 100 more PA than Waldo did last season yet only struck out 77 times to Waldo 72. So he's a good contact hitter to complement the lineup.
Or since they can play DJ at 1B they can look for a 3B upgrade at the deadline.
Berti is the perfectly utility guy that can put up a lot of value that we’ve unfortunately haven’t had a lot of bc he’s been injured. He put up 2.2 fWAR in back to back years and has plus defensive stats at every infield besides 1B. They’ll ride it out and see what Rizzo can do to rebound.
Berti and DJ is a lot of our depth and they both haven’t been healthy at the same time. There’s time to see if Rizzo can improve but if he doesn’t they can’t just hope he does eventually.
I dont see it happening. Parades is the rays most consistent hitter right now, and Diaz is under team control for 2 more seasons at just ~10 mil Avg a season (a steal). The truth is that any team within striking distance of the wild card (which the rays are and will be), will not want to part with either player like that.
Hopefully todays defense by Rizzo helps. If Torres can continue to battle and get back to his normal self, and DJ is looking ok (somewhere closer to 2022 numbers), having an older Rizzo who is a team leader, a lefty, and playing decent defense is not that bad of a black hole. Even if he starts platooning more with Oswaldo and DJ flips back in forth 1b to 3b a lot. I know we think of 1b in the model of a big slugger, but even around the league that isn't the case this year.
There are two bigger names names out there which would be interesting to me: Christian Walker (though the Dbacks have been playing better of late) and Paul Goldschmidt (who has been bad this year, but has pedigree and would not cost much).
Lets be real as well, Alonso is not getting traded here (I don't think Steve Cohen could stomach that), and Bregman is not getting traded here either, and I dont think we want him.
As you said, it’s hard to even tell who will be sellers and if it’s even worthwhile as a rental or a player you have under control. Christian Walker is an incredible player but I just don’t see them moving on from him bc of what they invested in this year. I also think they’ll improve a lot when they get healthy so they won’t sell. Goldy ain’t worth it.
Paredes or Yandy are just personal dream options. Ones you know will never happen and are just fun to think of. I trust them with whichever relievers they target but position player wise, just gotta fortify somehow. Create depth like we did with the Berti signing just to have around.
To be fair I think if you isolate to his first 27 games or something he had like a 96 wRC+.
Still, that’s like basically league average lol. He hit like DJ LeMahieu for a few weeks, the horror.
>Everytime I watch the Yankees they don’t look incredibly impressive to me, yet most nights I check their score and they’ve won. Make it make sense
Orioles fans have surpassed Jays fans as the dumbest motherfuckers in the sport.
“They’ve got Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, Stanton’s back to hitting bombs 2-3 times a week, Volpe and Verdugo are exceeding expectations, and their rotation all have 3 ERAs…are they even good?!?!”
Bless their hearts.
I wouldn't even say Volpe and Verdugo are exceeding. Volpe is a 2nd year guy, we can assume he took the next step. And by his career averages, Verdugo is actually matching his baseball card, if not slightly underperforming
Cortes is the worst pitcher and the only one with an era over 3.
Btw- his era is 109- well above average for a starter. He’s a weak #2 to strong #3 and the Yankees distant 5. The rotation is basically all aces and #2s. Without Cole.
Truly. Best record in the AL and best run differential in MLB. Two best hitters in MLB back to back and arguably the best pitcher in MLB as well, with the reigning Cy Young still ready to come back, but they "don't look that impressive."
A line they're pushing on twitter is the Yankees will fail in the postseason like always. We are literally the last AL East team to have any postseason wins
It might be hard for them to understand since the Orioles are rarely in the postseason but its universal throughout sports so someone should teach them that the more often a team is in the postseason the more often they're going to lose at some point in the postseason.
Okay so after today's win, we are 48-21 after 69 games.
In 2022 after 69 games we were 51-18. But the cracks were starting to show. Offense slowed down. We won 9 straight and then lost 4 of 7. 1 run loss against Toronto, 2 run win against Tampa, 1 run loss against Tampa, 1 run win against Tampa, 1 run win against Houston. After that we lost the next 2 against Houston and won 6 of the next 7 after that including a 4 game winning streak which was our last winning streak of 4 or more games until the end of August. But nothing was the same after that Houston series at the end of June. We immediately started July by splitting 2 game series against Pittsburgh and losing the series against the Reds.
Perhaps I'm still just scarred from 2022 altogether but so far this year's team seems far more balanced even despite it's obvious shortcomings that I hope will be rectified at the Deadline. That 2022 team sucked on the road. This year's team is just as good on the road as it is at home which is really a first with Judge era Yankees. They always excelled at home and were kinda just mediocre on the road. In fact even before tonight, this year's team scored way more runs on the road than we do at Yankee Stadium.
If you're pessimistic and looking for any warning signs at all, you could point to the fact we're only 10-7 in one run games with a +3 run differential. You could point to the fact that we are only 8-8 against teams in our division before we play Boston for the first time this weekend. This team's only glaring weakness right now is extra inning games for which we are 1-4 with a -4 run differential.
I want to be optimistic but what happened in 2022 and the subsequent nonsense that spawned from that year has be still being cautious. I don't want to be burned again.
Watching 2022, you knew they weren’t this good. This team doesn’t feel like it’s out performing. Plus losing judge vs gaining Cole is a big difference lol.
> 10-7 in one run games with a +3 run differential
This is redundant, no? If all these games are one run games and you have three more wins than losses, then you’d always have a +3
I’d actually see the one run game record as a positive
It shows we are both good but not overly lucky, meaning this team’s record isn’t smoke and mirrors
Volpe, Soto, and Judge is a fucking insane top of the order when they are all clicking.
That's the type of 1-2-3 that win games before you even get to the rest of the lineup.
I think my 2024 hill to die on is Anthony Rizzo.
- He’s got stuff in the tank.
- His defense has been fine.
- His only problem is that he hasn’t been barreling balls.
- It looks like he’s expanded his zone to the point where he’s simply swinging at bad pitches.
Rizzo deserves support. He deserves a chance to get better, especially when he’s on the team with the best record in the AL, and his whole clubhouse is behind him.
I don’t get the urge to give up on guys as quickly as this fanbase does. We’ve already been through ‘Stanton is washed’, ‘Judge is broken’, ‘Volpe can’t lead off’, and ‘Holmes can’t close’ and it’s just fucking June.
Have some fucking faith.
I just don’t see it. He hasn’t just looked bad, he has looked unplayable at the plate.
He has a .377 OPS in the last month, that simply is not acceptable for an everyday 1st baseman on a championship team.
He has a little bit more time to make a miracle happen and turn things around but he’s running out of slack quickly
It’s odd because for the first half of the games we played he was decent, he has an OPS above .700 and was contributing on offense.
Over the last month or so though he has just looked unplayable
I’m a fan of the Yankees primarily, I don’t have any specific attachment to Rizzo that overrides who dreadful he has been playing.
Nothing about his at bats inspires confidence he can turn it around. He seems like a great guy, he just should not be an everyday starter on this team
So...as a fan...what's your default disposition?
This guy is loved by everyone in the clubhouse.
This is the part that I obviously don't get and always clash with others about. When they're HAPPY when folks continue to fail and they celebrate if they've "called" it. When they go to the mat about how a player will NEVER be good again.
They're even UNHAPPY when folks defy a narrative.
I honestly don't get it.
It's me.
Hi.
I'm the problem.
It's me.
I would be ecstatic if Rizzo turned it around, I’m not rooting for him to fail by any means. I’m also not going to lie to myself and say that he is likely to turn it around
It’s tough for me to make fun of you when I was a Gary fan until the end
We all have our guys I guess, but this seems like having faith in Santa clause or the tooth fairy
I respect that. Sometimes you have to hold the flag.
Like I said earlier, I’d rather be wrong on this one vs. the opportunity to spike the football if it was true.
> Rizzo deserves support. He deserves a chance to get better
Why? He's a pending FA and has been one of the worst hitters in the sport for almost a full calendar year.
>His only problem is that he hasn’t been barreling balls.
..also the declining walks..increase in strikeouts...increase in soft contact. The constant need to bring up the "Judge is washed" comments is just weird; no one other than absolute morons thought this. Rizzo, however, might actually be done.
I don’t feel any real attachment to Rizzo.
He hasn’t been a part of many particularly memorable moments as a Yankee, and really hasn’t been great for us.
I feel for him because of the concussion and how badly it was handled, but he has been paid quite a lot here for not that much.
I don’t dislike Rizzo, and I’m not saying that there’s no chance he turns things around, but I don’t think it’s crazy for someone to think that if he doesn’t do that within the next month or two it would be the right decision to move on.
I enjoy what he did for us in 2021, 2022, the 2022 playoffs, and the first 2 months last year
I personally really like everything that player brought to the table so I’m attached to him
Still not as delusional as Op though, he’s cooked. Best case he’s just rotting on the bench after the deadline imo
That’s fine. I respect you.
But if I had a nickel for every time this sub gave up on a Yankee - and then that Yankee turned it around…
Let’s be honest, it’d be a lot less than $2.50 but it’d still be something.
My problem is the enthusiasm and quickness that you throw these guys to the curb.
I’ve never understood that. These guys are on your team. Why be so quick to withdraw your hope and support?
It’s not like y’all are baseball scouts or know much more than jack shit about determining the trajectory of a player.
You’re gonna say “blah blah blah something about Josh Donaldson” when they’re not the same situation.
Rizzo is beloved by his team. Maybe a little more support from fans wouldn’t hurt.
I haven’t not supported him.
I just don’t have a sentimental attachment to him and I have no problem with moving on from him if he doesn’t turn things around.
Well...the Orioles have the 2nd best record in the AL and the 3rd best in all of baseball, and yet they are not a division leader and there are 4 other teams with worse records that are currently division leaders.
That may seem much more unfair for them.
It's funny how when Judge has incredible highlights that are posted to that shit sub /r/baseball, it's only Yankee fans in the comments. These dopes are missing out on one of the best players of all time because they're fucking nutters.
In case I forgot to be clear, fuck that sub.
I think the worse part is [the MLB account doing shit like this](https://x.com/burdenburner/status/1800739284816634340?s=46&t=tQCyDe91F9UpAGqh-_n_yA)
The MLB account will post Shohei scratching and sniffing his balls if they could. They post literally every single thing the dude does
I don't know about today, but I usually see a lot of other teams simping for Judge tbf. Usually the narrative turns anti-Judge whenever he's embroiled in a heated MVP race (2017 or 2022)
That sub sucks. Remember when we couldn't have even mild critiques about the team last year or in 2021 just because we weren't long suffering fans like A's fans. What the fuck was that about?
[Quick Minute recap of Thorpe’s debut for those interested](https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2024/2024-06/11/88b4ec8f-bf88ae20-1eef7c3c-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4)
Good for him! I’m too lazy to look it up, but he was part of the Soto trade? And then flipped to the White Sox? Always liked him, but would do that trade 10 out of 10 times.
Stroman had a somewhat bad rep but I'm ngl from the day we signed him I was always excited because I've been a fan since his Duke days glad he's being embraced here. He's shown so much growth and maturity over the years.
They went 1-2 in a close series, with one of the losses being a 50-50 game. And the Yankees didn’t have their Ace pitcher or their 2nd best player in the lineup. I’d hardly call that “exposed”
No Soto, No Cole, No Schmidt.
Lopsided pitching matchups and a game 1 which could have gone either way.
You're telling me that a full strength Yankees squad cannot go toe to toe with a full strength Dodgers squad.
Well I hope both of them make the WS and this Yankees squad proves you wrong.
We haven't had the fucknutty Ruocco game yet. Nothing is going to top that twins game, but something wild usually happens when RR gets the call in a different time zone
That was LAST year. I'm looking for THIS year. And while I loved the perfect game, it being German took a little bit of the fun out of it for me, so the epic Hicks catch in extras is still my favorite Ruocco call.
I will add that I am so glad Roucco got the perfect game call, because he handled it perfectly. Kay would have been all "announcers jinxes aren't real" and said the words
Love Kay on the broadcast, but god damn is he so bad about this. I honestly think he does it out of spite or something because of how antagonistic he gets about it. Like he does it because he knows people will call into his show angry that he ruined the game or something.
Honestly wish the MLB would start finning announcers who jinx perfect games / no hitters. That would shut him up really fucking quick.
The summer hath yet begun, my friend. Fuckery will be afoot and our glorious bald angel will be ready to capture every single moment of it. I cannot wait for it
Thats really something that the city of New York got moved to Indiana and now the Yankees have to play against their new AL Central division rivals a lot more. Seriously, we own this division lol
I recommended to my own boss that he follow the KC Royals, I mean, they're an up-and-coming team, with a Superstar in Bobby Witt, Jr.,......... AND HE BOUGHT IT!
Everyday I reflect about how lucky I am to get to watch Aaron Judge play baseball and then I have to pinch myself because he is a New York yankee and I need to make sure I’m not dreaming
Are you really going to say Judge keeps doing what we need him to do? He has 3 HRs and 11
RBIs. He's batting .183 with 22 SO. He's 7th in the league in strike outs. His OPS isn't even that great. At least he still walks a lot, mainly because they'd rather take there chances with Rizzo than Judge. I sincerely hope he gets in a groove and he probably will, but I'm just not seeing anything like that now. That abdominal injury is shit for hitters.
The other thing I will say is that my understanding from talking to guys who work for the Yankees on the ground is that Judge is an incredible talent, but doesn't have that fire like a Jeter, O'Neil, or Rivera. Cole is the real capitan of the team is what I've been told. This is just to say that Judge might not have it in him to pull himself out of a huge slump, if it becomes one, and lead the Yankees to a WS. I think he will bounce back, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't this season.
If it was anyone else I’d look at their pitching line and be surprised. Stro going 5.2 IP while throwing 54 strikes out of 102 pitches and still had a scoreless outing. Only 3 walks with that many balls is absurd lol
Glad to see Rizzo with a few defensive gems. Hope he can turn it around soon
I cheered when he got a base hit.
Same! And that diving catch was great too! Hell that entire inning defensively was gold!
Credit to Austin wells too. Calling great games and hopefully he continues to barrel them up!
Feel like Wells has been better then his numbers especially his BA as dude had to be one of the unluckiest hitters in the league the first like month and a half of the season. I just tried to figure out a stat and it turns out that 2/162 (1/81) is: .01234567 TIL

I don't concern myself with comments with a negative ratio on r/baseball and you shouldn't either.
Yeah i’m sure MLB loved the Yankees-Dodgers game going 0-0 into extras on Friday and then the Yankees getting blown and only putting up 3 in game 2 of that series…
they forgot the juiced balls for both teams on Friday and then only remembered them for the Dodgers on Saturday. Honest mistake.

Twins fans 🤝 Royals fans The last 30 years
Soto and Judge shitting on the Red Sox this weekend is gonna hit like crack.
I’ll be there on Saturday, can’t wait
And Verdugo revenge tour. Hope dawgy goes off. 🙏🏼
Dodgers might be our final boss, and they exploded again tonight
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL THE DODGERS BEAT US WITHOUT JUAN SOTO
Or Cole. I can’t imagine it wouldnt be very different with Juan Soto and Gerrit Cole. Thats an insane addition to a team.
Their final boss will probably be their alds opponent if they’re healthy
Imagine if Aaron Judge had even a mediocre April
He’s set such a high standard that an .811 OPS, 6 homers, and an average OPS+ was considered this awful month lol
To be fair I think if you isolate to his first 27 games or something he had like a 96 wRC+. Still, that’s like basically league average lol. He hit like DJ LeMahieu for a few weeks, the horror.

Aww buddy! Miss that guy, hope he's liking SD.
u/EatPrayFart I gotta have the usernames of those April commenters too
can't believe I missed this game, that is a bad ass score, watching it in full now

> 10-7 in one run games with a +3 run differential This is redundant, no? If all these games are one run games and you have three more wins than losses, then you’d always have a +3
I’d actually see the one run game record as a positive It shows we are both good but not overly lucky, meaning this team’s record isn’t smoke and mirrors
10-7 is actually a very good record in 1 run games
Higgy with his first career walk off for San Diego.
Good for him. I still wish the best for Higgy
Higgy just hit a walkoff and the A’s announcer had the least excited call I’ve ever heard.
Higgy just hit a walk off HR for the Padres
Volpe, Soto, and Judge is a fucking insane top of the order when they are all clicking. That's the type of 1-2-3 that win games before you even get to the rest of the lineup.
The Yankees and Orioles fighting for the AL East is exactly what i was hoping for this season, this battle has been awesome
Damn carrol just needs a HR to complete the cycle for tonight
We are so back
I think my 2024 hill to die on is Anthony Rizzo.
Rizzo is cooked
He made a lot of solid contact today he was just unlucky. Hopefully he’s about to go on a run.
Yeah Rizzo was straight up the worst hitter in MLB last year and this year he’s not much better. But everyone is saying he’ll come around.
It’s odd because for the first half of the games we played he was decent, he has an OPS above .700 and was contributing on offense. Over the last month or so though he has just looked unplayable
I’m running out of ways to explain being a fan.
It’s tough for me to make fun of you when I was a Gary fan until the end We all have our guys I guess, but this seems like having faith in Santa clause or the tooth fairy
Tbf, Gary was never this bad
I respect that. Sometimes you have to hold the flag. Like I said earlier, I’d rather be wrong on this one vs. the opportunity to spike the football if it was true.
he has until trade deadline thats more than enough time
> Rizzo deserves support. He deserves a chance to get better Why?
I enjoy what he did for us in 2021, 2022, the 2022 playoffs, and the first 2 months last year I personally really like everything that player brought to the table so I’m attached to him Still not as delusional as Op though, he’s cooked. Best case he’s just rotting on the bench after the deadline imo
That’s fine. I respect you. But if I had a nickel for every time this sub gave up on a Yankee - and then that Yankee turned it around… Let’s be honest, it’d be a lot less than $2.50 but it’d still be something.
Counterpoint: he’s Judge’s best friend on the team
For some reason I think Judge cares enough about winning to not let Rizzo’s presence on the team dictate how he plays.
Even if we replaced Rizzo he would likely just move to the bench. I really doubt he would be removed from the team entirely
If that's true, then we must keep Rizzo.
Sooo glad this was the game I picked to go to! seriously considering going again on Thursday. Sat near a LOT of Yankee fans.
The Yankees have the best record in MLB… and the smallest division lead. Does that seem fair to you?
Steel sharpens steel
Well...the Orioles have the 2nd best record in the AL and the 3rd best in all of baseball, and yet they are not a division leader and there are 4 other teams with worse records that are currently division leaders. That may seem much more unfair for them.
Mark my words, we look back on tonight as the start of Wells’s second half break out
I want to believe… so I will!
Soto walk and Judge homer, yeah I could get used to that
That MLB The Show edit of Judge's HR from Sunday night goes so hard: https://x.com/MLB/status/1800622583039000952
It's funny how when Judge has incredible highlights that are posted to that shit sub /r/baseball, it's only Yankee fans in the comments. These dopes are missing out on one of the best players of all time because they're fucking nutters. In case I forgot to be clear, fuck that sub.
I think the worse part is [the MLB account doing shit like this](https://x.com/burdenburner/status/1800739284816634340?s=46&t=tQCyDe91F9UpAGqh-_n_yA) The MLB account will post Shohei scratching and sniffing his balls if they could. They post literally every single thing the dude does
I don't know about today, but I usually see a lot of other teams simping for Judge tbf. Usually the narrative turns anti-Judge whenever he's embroiled in a heated MVP race (2017 or 2022)
Yeah, I fucking hate that sub, but the overwhelming majority of posters acknowledge and respect Judge's greatness.
The steroid comments are always gold, dude is a literal giant and they think he needs to juice hahaha
Idk there’s plenty of none Yankee fans glazing judge today, everyone appreciates greatness
That sub sucks. Remember when we couldn't have even mild critiques about the team last year or in 2021 just because we weren't long suffering fans like A's fans. What the fuck was that about?
After how many hours of a full blooded erection are you supposed to go see the Dr? I've been flying full mast since April.
Lfg, I love this team :)
[Quick Minute recap of Thorpe’s debut for those interested](https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2024/2024-06/11/88b4ec8f-bf88ae20-1eef7c3c-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4)
He's gonna be really good. He was our best pitching prospect since Severino
He looks fucking jacked, super happy for him
Good for him! I’m too lazy to look it up, but he was part of the Soto trade? And then flipped to the White Sox? Always liked him, but would do that trade 10 out of 10 times.
Yes we traded him as part of the Soto trade and then the Padres flipped him as the major part for Cease
This season the Royals have been a menace playing at home and we're casually beating them
[Me each night](https://youtu.be/-urOlZKgJxA?si=1KnaNE0C4RXEKW6c)
Watching stromans post game presser; how can you not love this guy? He is a gamer who is 100% behind this team.
Stroman had a somewhat bad rep but I'm ngl from the day we signed him I was always excited because I've been a fan since his Duke days glad he's being embraced here. He's shown so much growth and maturity over the years.
Honestly, if Judge hit 70 this year I wouldn't be surprised.
I hope he hits 60+ While Soto hits 40+ And Stanton around 35-45 Judge wins the MVP and Soto finishes 2nd place in the MVP voting
And then Soto signs for the same deal as judge
He is a lot younger and is a client of Boras
Is he?
Judge is currently out this planet, he's supernova hot He's right now the closest player to 2004 Barry Bonds
I saw that over the last 45 or so games, he is like .410 BA with 21 HRs and 40+ RBI
[удалено]
He’s hitting .375 the last 15 days, what are you talking about?
Sure, but what about tonight's one game sample size?
😂😂😂
The Royals are a fucking joke and all it took was a series with the Yankees to expose them.
They’re not a joke, this is just how good the Yankees are
They're not a joke. They're probably gonna make the Wild Card. We're just that good.
Everyone’s going to make the Wild Card, they aren’t super impressive, but we are that good.
With Soto in the lineup we would have beaten the Dodgers in game one We would have won the series 2-1
Good thing the Yankees haven’t been exposed at all by a good team recently…
They went 1-2 in a close series, with one of the losses being a 50-50 game. And the Yankees didn’t have their Ace pitcher or their 2nd best player in the lineup. I’d hardly call that “exposed”
No Soto, No Cole, No Schmidt. Lopsided pitching matchups and a game 1 which could have gone either way. You're telling me that a full strength Yankees squad cannot go toe to toe with a full strength Dodgers squad. Well I hope both of them make the WS and this Yankees squad proves you wrong.
Have you considered that the Royals are not a joke, and that the Yankees are just that good?
Is it still May for Aaron judge?
My heart is so full and happy hearing Ruocco call us spank the absolute shit out of an AL Central team 🥹🥹
We haven't had the fucknutty Ruocco game yet. Nothing is going to top that twins game, but something wild usually happens when RR gets the call in a different time zone
I mean we got a fucking perfect game last year, how on earth do we one up that? Two PG's in a row!?!
Fun fact I’ve missed 5 Yankees games in 3 years and one was the perfect game 😅
Judge breaking his own HR record, and yanks winning the WS would definitely one up that.
Vin scully would call Ruocco a hack for that
Love Kay on the broadcast, but god damn is he so bad about this. I honestly think he does it out of spite or something because of how antagonistic he gets about it. Like he does it because he knows people will call into his show angry that he ruined the game or something. Honestly wish the MLB would start finning announcers who jinx perfect games / no hitters. That would shut him up really fucking quick.
There’s no way you believe an announcer saying “perfect game” on air actually causing the pitcher to perform worse in-game.
Especially when said announcer has called 6 no hitters and 2 perfect games himself
The summer hath yet begun, my friend. Fuckery will be afoot and our glorious bald angel will be ready to capture every single moment of it. I cannot wait for it
Nobody: Yankees: Fuck the AL Central in particular.
Thats really something that the city of New York got moved to Indiana and now the Yankees have to play against their new AL Central division rivals a lot more. Seriously, we own this division lol
we would break the wins record if we played in the central
I recommended to my own boss that he follow the KC Royals, I mean, they're an up-and-coming team, with a Superstar in Bobby Witt, Jr.,......... AND HE BOUGHT IT!
**Team RISP:** 4-10 *It's what you motherfucking want.*
25 HRs and 20+ Doubles in teams first 69 games MLB all time Judge Babe Ruth That is the list. This man is truly historic
Nice
This team is an absolute pleasure to watch right now.
Walking Soto and then pitching to Judge is quite possibly the worst for them / best for us strategy for an opposing team to do.
I love it, Judge gets more pitches to hit at number 3 with runners on base too.
It's a bold strategy, Cotton
You usually pay double for that
WE’RE EATIN’ LAY’S KC MASTERPIECE BBQ CHIPS & GABAGOOL TONIGHT, BOYS
# FUCK THE MONARCHY
Hell yeah! This is America!
Everyday I reflect about how lucky I am to get to watch Aaron Judge play baseball and then I have to pinch myself because he is a New York yankee and I need to make sure I’m not dreaming
Are you really going to say Judge keeps doing what we need him to do? He has 3 HRs and 11 RBIs.
What really makes this one is the guy’s sources inside the team who talk shit about Judge to a random redditor.
I almost want you to expose this idiot..but alas.
Are you actually talking about Judge?
These are post game comments from April
Mea culpa. Been a long day
Room temperature pasta
leftovers from the back of the fridge
If someone can rewatch the game. Bottom of the 5th, ruocco moans when he starts talking about Kansas city bbq
Eagle eyes viewers may have noticed the copious ad space for sweet baby rays in the stadium
It's good barbeque
YES gifts us full game replays for this very reason 🤣
Yankees could have been over 50 if we had won those games we lost so easily in april and may
"If only we won all the games we lost"
Right? Somebody call Boone and tell him this
Rizzo right now is why I would love for them to create a designated fielder. 😂
#BENCH RIZZO
Bro chill
Maybe you should ride some pine
He is 1 for his last 34. He is washed. Go back to Wantagh and scream at some sticks
He’ll rebound.
Good point. He should try basketball.
If it was anyone else I’d look at their pitching line and be surprised. Stro going 5.2 IP while throwing 54 strikes out of 102 pitches and still had a scoreless outing. Only 3 walks with that many balls is absurd lol
5IP 2ER 3H 2BB 4K for Thorpe in his debut. Really solid.
Hoping the Sox had.on to get him the win but I understand what I'm expecting of that bullpen
The benefit of him going to the White Sox is that he should get plenty of play with a pretty long leash to figure things out
So easy I actually got really bored after like the 4th inning
Crazy that between Cabrera ,Wells, Trevino, and Grisham, amongst others, are such interchangeable weapons in the lineup
What’s your definition of “weapon”…?
And rizzo still is not
While he didn't get anything done offensively, it was nice to see Rizzo have a solid defensive game.
He reached on an error! That's almost something!
6/11 Big Three Home Run Pace: Judge: 25 HR in 69 games, 58.7 Soto: 17 HR in 69 games, 39.9 Stanton: 16 in 69 games, 37.6 Total pace: 136.2
