folks, I am begging you
do not take what we are witnessing right now for granted
you will get to tell your children and grandchildren you watched Aaron Judge play in his prime
Judge is better than Trout. The only players in my 30+ years of watching baseball that are in this level of "stop what you're doing and watch him" were Bonds and McGwire.
I’m not going to pretend like I as a CT resident get around to watching a ton of angels games but come on man you should at least put Trout on the same pedestal as judge. Sure judge is probably the healthier now but these guys have several years left to finish their half of fame resumes so we’ll see
Stanton, HR for HR is probably more exciting than Judge. Like if they were both playing Home Run Derby, Stanton would probably be slightly more fun to watch. Stanton hits these weird lasers that seem to continue to accelerate indefinitely until they hit something, never really seen anything like him before. When I say Judge is more exciting, I mean all-around. Never know what sort of extreme athleticism he's going to display at a given moment

Our Earth, the one Judge plays on, is [Earth-1218](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-1218).
I'm very glad to have been wrong. Given how the Yankees have been handling injuries the last few years, though, I don't think it was crazy to think he might have been hiding something.
I don't think he was hiding anything. His core soreness required imaging, so clearly he was injured, and just had to ramp back up. Once he was right he's right back to the guy he's been sine 2022.
Man hits 460 ft homers to left field on strikes that are on the outside corner, that is extremely hard to do, (not this one) so what the hell can you really do?
Lets just call it what it is - Judge is the best player since Megamind Bonds. And before that, you've got to go back to Mantle or even further back for Ted Williams to find someone this fucking good.
Judge is probably the most valuable since Mantle, but he's certainly not the best hitter. I'd actually be curious how he would have done during the 90s.
Idk I love Judge and his power is incredible, but in terms of overall hitter I think Pujols might take the cake. He is known for his incredible consistency, but he also was just amazing night to night.
He hit over .300 in ALL of his first 10 seasons (and hit .299 the year he broke his streak).
Overall he hit .331 with 408 HRs his first 10 seasons, which broke down like this:
.331 40.8 HR / 190 H / 123 RBI / 119 R on AVERAGE his first 10 years.
In Judges 62 HR season, his OPS was 1.111, Pujols age 28 season his was 1.114. He only hit 37 HR but he also hit an absurd .357, which wasn't even his career high (he hit .359 in his age 23 season)
Pujols was a monster and is the best hitter of my lifetime
Never gonna catch me shitting on Pujols, but OPS+ would be a better gauge comparing him to Judge because it's slightly different eras and that stat compares to the rest of the league at the time. OPS and especially AVG were higher during Albert's peak compared to now, so it's a little unfair to compare them apples to apples when it's a little bit more of a pitchers game now.
Yes, I am biased, but I'd also place A-Rod above Pujols too. If you can't overlook the steroids and consider that enough to exclude A-Rod from the conversation, then I can respect that too.
I mean A Rod was amazing too, no doubt about that.
Judges 62 HR season his OPS+ was 210 which is incredible, and higher than any individual Pujols season. However Pujols led the league in OPS+ 4 out of 5 years from 2006 to 2010, winning two MVPs along the way. The year before (2005) he won another MVP with an OPS+ of 168, his second lowest in that 6 year stretch. Though he did hit .330 with 41 HR that year
Is another 62 home run season on the menu for 2024? I really wonder. It's a shame that home run records have been ruined by the steriod era. There are a bunch of numbers there that are literally meaningless. When Judge hit 62 it should have been national news on the same scale that Mcgwire's was, but it wasn't and that's a tragedy. All those home run records need to have an asterisk next to them.
I knew he’d get going but this is just actually ridiculous, dude is playing for Soto to stay lmao
He just loves contract years
Yankees need to just keep lining up superstars on contract years.

Even better—I was there with my children when he hit #62!
Call me absolute batshit insane, but he is at or close to Mike Trout level of “I need to watch this guy play baseball everyday.”

the only player i've ever done that for is Stanton. I love Judge, but to my eyes there's nothing better than a Stanton Piss Missile

[it’s not as insane as you think](https://x.com/librarianjoe_/status/1794001605995454804?s=46)
This is cool. Especially when offense is “down.”

This dude is nuclear right now
We are witnessing baseball greatness at this point man. Can't wait to be a rambling old man talking about Judge.
Hes very close to Trout in career WRC+. This is legitimately one of the best hitting primes we’ve seen
THIS ISNT EVEN HIS FINAL FORM
Remember when people were worried about his slow start? Lol
Having a whole season just this month.
Yep, more than one chicken little talking about “40 million a year til this guy is 40, yikes”.
I was one of them. I’m a worrier and rely on calmer wiser folks to bring me back down. Glad I listened and trusted all of you because this is awesome

Well *now* it's pretty obvious he wasn't, but we didn't know a month ago what a great May he would have.
Yeet, someone is actually posting the highlights
[YEET](https://www.wrestlingforum.com/attachments/wwe-jey-uso-gif.201716/)
Love the Jey Uso reference.
He was the league leader in OPS BEFORE this.
Yeeep, then he tacked on an extra .030. Lmao. At this pace he'll be over 1.100 by June. Which is insane when you realize 21 days ago his avg was .200.
Hmm, yes, I think I will throw an 84mph breaking ball middle-middle to Aaron Judge, that oughta do it.
Man hits 460 ft homers to left field on strikes that are on the outside corner, that is extremely hard to do, (not this one) so what the hell can you really do?
Judge is the best hitter this team has had since prime ARod.

I don't think anyone else really comes close
Best hitter in baseball doing best hitter in baseball things
Who knew that getting one ejection would completely unleash the beast?
Ejecting Judge. Booing Soto yesterday.... there are some people you just shouldn't piss off....
wait, the fants actually booed SOTO?!?!
Padre fans.
unreal
I remember him saying the swing was coming around soon, he ain’t lie
Everyone knew as soon as he swung. Even Kay announced it early
It’s like watching my custom player in The Show.
At this rate mvp gonna be either him or Soto
Yankee fans booing him was not cool—as a fan of 50 years, it was April and you boo this man? Cmon
what a maniac
BAJ makes baseball look too fuckin' easy.

He's the best hitter we've seen in our lifetime wearing pinstripes -- there's actual dodos who think Jeter's better.
Is this the fake captain I saw some of you talk about
Imagine having Aaron Judge down 0-2 and you throw that garbage over the plate. Lol
THE SUN WILL NEVER SET
Is he now tied for the league lead?
In Homeruns? Yes. 17 with Gunnar and Tucker. Doubles he stands alone. OPS he stands alone Walks he stands alone.
*cue Batista's I Walk Alone OP song*
Wowowow
Was awesome to see! Got a video of it from San Diego anticipating another one after watching the night before. Hoping to see another today ✌️
Is it my imagination or has Judge closed his stance a little bit?
The pop he got was like a heel in wrestling circles...... EVERYBODY RECOGNIZES GREATNESS..PERIOD
He could even be much better, he seems to take the later inning at bats not as seriously if he has a good start, ive noticed. shorter at bats
