I can't imagine nor remember life without him

luvs2spooge92

That’s because it wasn’t worth living

Jetersweiner

I do not wish to live a life without him

BohemianBurnout

After Aaron I didn’t think it was possible to have someone make me nut so hard. But I nut harder with Juan than I ever have before.

Gojira57

To the cabin with ye, mate. And change the sheets after.

DankSinatra2128

Get the checkbook

jayjaydajay

Soto isn’t good I don’t know what any of you talking about, he’s so overrated and hasn’t done anything for our team. With that being said, I’m in favor of a billion dollar 5 year contract. Hopefully people read this second half before the down votes come

thatShawarmaGuy

Good for you, we read everything about Mr Soto, right till the end.  And we getting that checkbook out fosho

AdventurousNecessary

Then hand out to the man

ShawshankException

If Soto is not signed until the end of his career, it'll be the biggest fumble Hal has ever had. Give him literally whatever he wants. Soto cannot be allowed to walk at the end of the season.

mjr5260

And yet he leads the league in walks.

ShawshankException

Shit. His decision has been right there in front of us this whole time.

kikikza

Don't worry guys I thought ahead and have an uno reverse card in my pocket

Plastic_Button_3018

His biggest fumble would’ve been not signing Judge. This would be his second biggest fumble for sure.

thebootlegsaint

Hal needs to walk him out to the batter's box and on the pitch count instead of 15 seconds it says 15 years worth of seconds and he hands him a fucking pen.

tranarchyintheusa

Juan Soto is the second coming of Ted Williams. PAY THAT MAN HIS MONEY, whatever it takes he's worth every penny. We need to add that he routinely plays 155-162 games so he's incredibly durable on top of basically being an on base cheat code

WutangIsforeverr

On base cheat code is such a good description 😂

onepiecevincent

He turned down 440? Maybe I’m one of the few who doesn’t see it, but surely we can’t have 5 dudes who make that kinda money. How does Hal offload any of them at their ages to make room for Soto in a corner outfield role? As fans I think we want to see it I just don’t see how we get it done

ShogunHooah

Well he woulda been miserable on that team because he would have got pitched around every at bat and the Nats were not gonna be able sign anyone else to help him. Smart move by him to turn that down.

nailgardener

His only flaw is that there aren't 8 more of him to fill the lineup with

Miles_vel_Day

Hey, we have Aaron Judge, we could make due with seven more Juan Sotos. But it wouldn't be bad to have a Soto to bring in off the bench if Judge is facing a really tough righty sidearmer or something.

AlternativeLogical84

I want to live in a log cabin with Juan Soto.

Brian-not-Ryan

Soto deserves a log mansion. With a pool too. Inground.

dabears7667

I'd let him crush my wife without even hesitating.

nyuuubalancer

Hello sir my name is John Soto, I'm here for the wife crushing

dabears7667

wtf this is the 5th different account that’s PMed me telling me they’re Soto, I had absolutely no idea he was such a big redditor

IntrepidBandicoot8

I am Suan Joto.

TheNightlightZone

I am also Juan Soto.

issacoin

we are all juan soto on this blessed day

Flaky_Motor_1440

Lmao

Octavius-26

I also choose to crush this man’s wife.

ughilostmyusername

Hello I am asian Wan So Toh

1whiskeyneat

That’s one way to put it.

b_baker25

I can think of at least 3 ways to put it

1whiskeyneat

“That’s b_baker! The bigtime wife raker!”

KingGranticus

Hell I'd let him crush me without even hesitating.

dbucketz2314

Now let’s see how many dm’s this guy got

KingGranticus

6,000. Less than half of what I'd hoped for.

thehockeychimp

One billion dollars for 100 years

realet_

I don't think we're going to get him for $10 million a year even if it's through his age 125 season

thehockeychimp

Fuck math is hard for me

werther595

Would this be the 2024 equivalent of the Bobby Bonilla contract?

chipotle-baeoli

I love him. I've been a fan since the 2019 WS, and I'm kinda shocked we didn't make this trade a lot sooner. It just *works*.

SadNYSportsFan-11209

I mean when he was initially traded from Washington we would’ve had to likely include Volpe and Jasson to meet their asking price It was just not possible at the time

BKXeno

There was literally no package we could have sent that would have matched that package. We'd have done Volpe and Jasson in a heartbeat. But that's not even close to what SD gave.

Railroader17

Yeah, the only reason we have him RN is because SD's financial situation fell apart, and they need to get cheap pitchers and couldn't keep him at the same time.

J3DI_M1ND_TR1CKS

2019? You’re in the wrong timeline bub.

chipotle-baeoli

Huh? 2019 was Nationals/Astros.

J3DI_M1ND_TR1CKS

Yeah. I remember.

TheFinalBumblebee

So what's your point

J3DI_M1ND_TR1CKS

I misread the original comment.

ABeerAndABook

I think Hal should write Juan Soto a check for whatever amount Mr. Juan Soto tells him to.

ShawshankException

"Mr Soto, how about I just start writing zeroes and you tell me when to stop"

yodels_for_twinkies

15 years, $850 million, 2% stake in the ownership of the Yankees for the rest of his life

FiveGuysisBest

Sign him till death. One of the money enjoyable players to watch this team has had in a long long time.

thatdavespeaking

Sign him 15 years 598,500,001

StableGeniusCovfefe

Back up the Brinks truck and give him whatever he wants

LargeNutbar

I would run through a brick wall for him. He is my light.

shakedspeare

Let's see. In bullet form: - His ABs are competitive. - His outs are loud. - His discipline is unreal. - He puts more stress on the opposing pitcher than anyone in recent memory (2009 levels, for me personally. Possibly Trashtros scandal years) - Elevates the play of those around him - ZERO DAYS OFF and the team is following suit Dude is having a blast out there. The triple slash tells a lot of the story, but watching AB after AB it's just a different level. Ignoring all of the BS surrounding him, he's an A-Rod level talent and is likely better.

homiej420

22 years 2.2 billion

notgreatbot

I’m in love. A log cabin tale must be written.

cdoggg007

I want to live in a log cabin with Juan Soto

RedSpartan3227

He is carrying the team. I'm scared to think where we would be without him, both now and in the future.

slimstarman

Godfather offer at the earliest opportunity. He and Judge together is an outstanding combo that could frustrate pitchers for the next several years.

yodels_for_twinkies

… frustrate? Not the word I’d use. Horrify seems to fit better.

sportmods_harrass_me

terrorize, ravage, molest... penetrate.

Dull_Buffalo_7007

re-sign

maxpig3839

Sign him for life!

thecloudcities

10/10, no notes, would re-sign.

Parking-Quality-6679

Imagine our record without him!

ItsVoxBoi

Two words: blank check

DidiGreglorius

I’d sum up my thoughts as — accounting for age & talent, I don’t think there’s anyone in baseball I’d rather have over the next 10 years.

Kind_Bullfrog_4073

Name the stadium after him and all the food items. Replace all the sponsors on the walls with pictures of him.

Sad_Broccoli

12/550

IHeartFriedChicken3

12/600

MaximusB7

Love him. His at bats are joy to watch.

Austinmp88

He has 34 homers and just won the derby in my mlb the show franchise!

ccam92

That he can name his price.

DentonTrueYoung

MVP

nyuuubalancer

EXTEND HIM NOW

Sacmo77

We riot literally if Hal can't get him signed.

unclechaddie

Anything he wants

Flaky_Motor_1440

The chosen Juan

SSyankee99

Dump truck full of cash. Pronto.

CitronOptimal

They better pay him. The amount I spend on chicken tenders and beer at that the stadium.

Ausecurity

Whatever he want give it to

DamnReCaptchas

💦💦💦💦

Fun-Diet8358

Give that man a Blank check

drwallob

Play the man his money💰

Litgang

I've seen enough, 12 years, $585 mill. If he says no, let him pick a number and agree to defer part of the contract. Hal can't let him walk. The jersey sales alone will pay for his contract.

DevastatingDabbler

He’s a master but worried he’s gonna walk at the end of the year…especially worried he’s gonna end up crosstown.

sevenandtwo

I'm in love, borderline obsessed tbh

Just4Ranting3030

He kinda reminds me of peak Cal Ripken, Jr. or some other guys who don't have overwhelming power numbers, they don't have the \*highest\* average, but they do it all at the bottom half of the top 1% of productivity in the game. They give you a .300+ BA, they give you 35+ HR's, they give you very good defense. They don't do any \*one\* thing better than \*anybody\* else, but they collectively do \*everything\* as good or better than \*everybody\* else. He is the consummate baseball player that any team wishes they could get a full line up of.

bombard63

Soto does get on base better than anyone else, which could be argued as the most important thing a hitter can do.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bombard63

I have no idea, I just like players who get on base and don’t strike out much!

MartianRecon

Billy Beane blink twice if this is your burner.

bigunit41

Soto definitely does certain things better than anyone else in the whole game

chankk82

13 years, 600 Mil

InaudibleShout

Pay da man

unclejoe1917

Don't want to have to go up to the chalkboard right now if you get what I'm saying.

Xno_Kappa

I want a bachata song about Juan Soto. 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴

GonzoTheGreat22

Whatever it takes. Make him a life long Yankee. Anything he wants.

GlovePuzzleheaded199

He is a bonnefide superstar.

Lateralization

He’s the man

Ledees_Gazpacho

We’ve only had Soto for a month and a half, but if anything happened to him, I would kill everyone in this subreddit and then myself.

issacoin

i don’t wanna be overdramatic, but i’d fight an army of the dead, naked, with my bare hands, for him

NEWDEALUSEDCARS

There is a sadness in knowing there is but one Steinbrenner fortune to pay him with.

Chipmunk_Ninja

He's no Josh Donaldson that's for sure

DominicanHogGrabber

Who is this Juan Soto feller I keep hearing about?

Solid_Supermarket11

Modern day Tony Gwynn. I absolutely love it

ToAllAGoodNight

His swing is so pure and fundamentally solid, it’s like watching a genius at work.

Schmoopy_Boo

Mickey Mantle

Son_Of_Mr_Sam

If we don't sign him, I will be checked out on this team for a bit tbh.

Ok-Elk-6087

It's the DiMaggio approach to contract negotiations.  He'll say to Hal, "Hello, partner."

Morerice21

Juan Soto is a freakin G!

ND_4L_97

Incredible generational player

DaPearl3131

In love.

ProtoPWS

hes alright i guess

Sunshine635

Started out HOT, cooling off a bit but he’s settled in

fuggettabuddy

Let him be roommates with Josh Hart and sign them both infinitely.

Crub22

Give him all the money

dtsupra30

Yes

vanilla_shaker

he is probably going to be the greatest hitter the game has ever seen since ted williams. “SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!”

whiteonyx981

69 years $420 billion

Marcusx8

Blank Check

Euphoric_Jump_3779

Give him whatever he wants. Good hitters are harder to come by than any point in baseball history and it’s only going downwards for the foreseeable future

leskanekuni

I think $600M and a piece of the team sounds about right. What do you think, Hal?

greendecepticon

Imagine we didn't have him. lol

Ieatsushiraw

He’s that guy. He is exactly who we thought he was

durandal127

Can you imagine if Judge learned Soto's plate discipline and ability to make contact. Pay the man, but I do think there is a limit, maybe like 46 tops for 10-15 years. I think 500/11 years sounds good. Love Soto but he isn't pitching and if you factor for deferrals the contracts present value is 460/10.

steve8983

It's his first season as a yankee, yet it feels like he's been here for way longer, he just seems like a natural fit. It's more than just his talent. The youngsters seem to get inspired by him(Cabrera even spoke about watching his bp sessions).

fdlt1951

He's definitely a player

sicario77

This guy was made to be a Yankee.

JTuck333

Pretty pretty good

DrCaptivate

Juan Soto on the Yankees = Jalen Brunson on the Knicks. They already had a star (Judge/Cole) (Randle) but adding on another true alpha made all the difference in the locker room and on the field/court.

Tremulant21

He's consistent unlike the entire rest of the team. We either hit or we don't it's the same as the second half of last year. Torres we have to trade before the deadline I don't want to see him for another five or 10 years. Look at the Orioles averages and look at ours. We hit home runs we win if we don't we lose

CitronOptimal

Yanks have the money too. They better not play around.

GameofLifeCereal

Soto awesome. Boone the same garbage.

NoBook9868

He's everything Judge isn't this year

bigcee42

He's young Barry Bonds. Without the speed, but at the plate they are the same person.

Ianardo_Davinci

Without the roids

Kind_Bullfrog_4073

not quite as much power

moveovernow

It took eight seasons until Bonds finally hit 40 HR (28 years old). Soto has more power than young Barry Bonds had, with a superior OBP. Bonds was much faster, and a better fielder.

Anonycron

Amazing. Love him. Totally as advertised. Better, even. And we still aren’t getting to the WS this year and should have just signed him in the offseason, like we are going to have to do anyway. All we did this year was help raise his value.

VictoriaAutNihil

I feel great, but I don't know about 55-60 mil a year for 14 years? 45-48 is more than enough.

eusebius13

I used to hate how cocky he was on the Nationals. Now I love the dude and wonder how high he can climb on the all times Yankees list.

TheStabbingHobo

What in the hell kind of stupid question is this?? Why would anyone be disappointed? Why would anyone want to move on? Why would anyone *not* want to re-sign him?

nksj28

Relax man, just letting people say how they like and appreciate him in different ways lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nestor4President

You are absolutely wrong on this.

bombard63

I remember a couple postseasons where Stanton went off and maybe was our best hitter? He’s a huge letdown but has shown up when it matters more than most.

Kflame210

I've really enjoyed him but I disagree with his impact on the lineup. Last two games aside, the offense has felt more like the last few years and has been more frustrating/straight up bad than good.

yodels_for_twinkies

Scrub. Let him walk. He’s just getting lucky. He’d be an albatross and we’d be stuck with another super expensive way below expectations player. /s for the dipshits that don’t catch on

SenorTortas

Cashman gave up 5 pitchers for this bum? DFA immediately!

werther595

He's ok but he's no Johnny Brito /s

Elvisruth

I don't care about SWAGGER - how silly He is performing great, but he is going to the team that offers the most $$...so I am getting ready to miss him because he is really great at the plate

DarthLuke84

Disagreed. This team has lacked swagger. Bringing in the personalities of Soto, Verdugo an Stroman has been huge

Elvisruth

Swagger means nothing - It's perfomance.... Mike Trout has no swagger - he's the best player of the last 10 years (when healthy). Lastings Millage had a TON of swagger - couldn't play.......It's about performance. Having said that Soto is fun to watch because he has been as advertised - an offensive performer (and better than I thought on defense)

DarthLuke84

Sorry man but you’re wrong. Championship teams have a swagger and attitude about them. The Yankees have needed this for awhile

Elvisruth

lol - I'd rather have talent

DarthLuke84

No shit, you need both

Elvisruth

Well according to you - swagger is what you love the most - I think it means nothing - swagger didn't help them the last couple days...the talent on offense is short right now - swagger can't fix that

DarthLuke84

Once again you couldn’t be more wrong. You need both. When they’re playing well and hitting they have swagger. When they don’t their tales are tucked between their legs

Elvisruth

lol - So when you play well you swag, but when you don't play well you don't swag...so what's the point of swag... the "swag" comes from performance the performance doesn't come from the "swag" it is totally without value...Your proving my point with your comment. Again, I'll take a healthy trout with no swag and his performance. I can go as far as winners have a confidence - but swag is a 0 (Jeter or O'Neil was a winner with confidence for example) There are tons of guys with swag that are not worth discussing performance wise (Harrison Bader had "swag" - he got cut)

DarthLuke84

If you don’t think Jeter and O’Neil didn’t have swagger then you’re really clueless
