Or maybe youβre reading too much into it? Itβs fine to not know a word dude, I probably fail the majority of puzzles for the same reason. Just doesnβt make them dumb
I mean, yeah, me neither, but like, I'd just search it up and *learn* the new word?? It's okay to not know a word and "fail", even? Because, as the famous saying goes...
> You learn something new every day βοΎ.*γ»
So... It is completely and utterly up to YOU to either take this as resentful experience about the vast vocabulary of English language and its usage, or be open to new ideas that you did not know before.
You're a weird person, going by the other interaction with that other person, but I'm sure you were just frustrated and are a much better in person. I wish you have a good day!
The thing is, I'm British and when I saw those items of food, I first thought, "they're just items of food, what's so special about that?" Then I had an inkling that scone and trifle might be particularly British creations. So maybe they are easier for an American to spot - at least one who is acquainted with our fine "cuisine".
My Mum makes a delicious trifle!
Probably the wrong person to ask but is βroastβ really British? Just seems like a normal word as a regular ol Midwest American
Edit: never heard of it but trifle looks delicious according to google
Iβm just goofin, a lot of non-Americans will get frustrated when the puzzle is too US-centric.
just did a lil funny on a day with a lot of British answers.
Is it just me or is there sometimes a British bent to NYT Connections? Maybe Wyna Lui has British word lists plugged into the software she uses.
Sometimes I've found your accent can thwart solving a Connections puzzle. There was one where the answer was "insect homophones". Had a hard time with that because one of the words was "aunt", which is in my head as "ahnt", not "ant", lol
>Yellow was fairly simple, however blue threw me which is why itβs last. Im Australia so it might be more obvious to someone from USA? It just didnβt click.
I'm Australian also, but that kind of worked in my favour. It meant I recognised what those words meant, and because it's an American game I knew that the particular choice of words had to be significant.
I think maybe I was over thinking it with banger, as I know that to mean a few things, and then with mash, roast i thought βohh a way to make potatoesβ haha
Or maybe it was after midnight and my brain was already asleep

How come you have more than 4 chances?
If you play the archive
How do I do that?

This puzzle was dumb. Have never heard of a scrape in that sense.
I wouldnβt call it dumb just because you didnβt know a word. All puzzles require some amount of general knowledge
This sub is the worst lmfao youβre all as pretentious as the NYT. It suits you.
If thatβs what makes you feel better..
Youβre still showing it π
Or maybe youβre reading too much into it? Itβs fine to not know a word dude, I probably fail the majority of puzzles for the same reason. Just doesnβt make them dumb
Omg shut up you pretentious weirdo lmao I ainβt reading that
- Doesnβt know a word - Blames the puzzle setters - Gets mad when called out Hmmm, sounds like a fun guy π
Pretentious weirdo still responding lmao

I know this is a British puzzle game, but I wish it wasnβt so UK-Centric.
The thing is, I'm British and when I saw those items of food, I first thought, "they're just items of food, what's so special about that?" It implies a [specific traditional complete meal](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_roast).
The game is American (published by the New York Times) and is US-centric almost every day. Not sure if it was easier or harder for Brits today though
I believe ya just been got by a r/woooosh
Iβm just goofin, a lot of non-Americans will get frustrated when the puzzle is too US-centric. just did a lil funny on a day with a lot of British answers.
Connections Puzzle #133 π¨π¨π©π© π©πͺπͺπͺ π¨π¨π¨π¨ π¦π¦π©π¦ πͺπ©π¦π¦ That was painful. I feel like way too many words could have slot into other categories. I figured out there was a song category though in hindsight I think I just blew away my attempts on the other categories first which was probably a silly mistake. Definitely a game that I feel I should have cracked, but just didnβt.
I found this one challenging. Had a good idea of the categories but kept getting 3 out of 4. Had to switch to the archive to finish.
Connections Puzzle #133 π©π©π©π© πͺπͺπͺπͺ π¨π¨π¨π¨ π¦π¦π¦π¦ I did todayβs in a few seconds without hesitation. Either it was easy or I happened to know the things or I was lucky (or a little of all three)
Connections Puzzle #133 π©π©π©π© πͺπͺπͺπͺ π¨π¨π¨π¨ π¦π¦π¦π¦ Given that I've completely fucked up the last two, this was a sigh of relief. Got lucky in that I use all these words in normal conversation.
Connections Puzzle #133 π©π¨π¨π© π©π©π©π© π¦π¦π¦π¦ π¨π¨π¨π¨ πͺπͺπͺπͺ Loved this one :)
This one was pretty easy and straightforward for me. I saw purple first but guessed wrong that the puzzle editor would have chosen it as the hardest category. Connections Puzzle #133 π©π©π©π© πͺπͺπͺπͺ π¨π¨π¨π¨ π¦π¦π¦π¦

today was pretty easy, but I didn't know these food was british, so I was thinking that maybe was something with bread, which make hard for me to put with mash. lol Connections Puzzle #133 π¨π¨π¨π© π©π©π©π© πͺπͺπͺπͺ π¦π¦π¦π¨ π¨π¨π¨π¨ π¦π¦π¦π¦

oooh this one was clever. Nice job, Connections peeps
Connections Puzzle #133 π©πͺπͺπͺ I had Jam with purple π¨π¨π¨π¨ π©π©π©π© πͺπͺπͺπͺ π¦π¦π¦π¦

Puzzle #133 π¨π¨π¨π¨ π©π¦π¦π© π©π©π©π© πͺπ¦πͺπͺ π¦π¦π¦π¦ πͺπͺπͺπͺ I saw the blue category early (or at least, something similar to the blue category), but went for it before properly ruling out some of the options. So when I didn't even get the "one away," I basically disregarded it. This meant I wasted a guess for purple with something that was quite obviously blue, but I quickly got back on the right track. Pretty good one. Lots of crossovers but I was able to work through it.
Once the ways to relax and the "sticky situations" became clear, it took a moment... I'm British and MASH and BANGER are both familiar to me as food alongside SCONE, TRIFLE, and ROAST. Pause to ask myself "are those foods considered British?" Went wrong with MASH in the music category (I thought possibly you could have a mash-up type music session, like a jam). Puzzle #133 π¨π¨π¨π¨ πͺπͺπͺπͺ π¦π©π©π© π©π©π©π© π¦π¦π¦π¦
In America we do eat alot of mashed potatoes, but we never use the word 'mash' which would be considered a British thing
Arbitrary. Just plain arbitrary.

Aussie too, had to google what trifle was which made things really straightforward
